You all read Twilight? Bella and Edward are "Too much in love"..at least by the end of the second book. (I haven't finished all of them yet, but yeesh!)
That is NOT what I would call a healthy relationship! (Don't jump on me..I still enjoy the books..but I definitely see their faults.) |

There is a REASON I wont sleep with my best guy friend (as much as he wants me to).
Already love him as much as a person can without being IN love with him. And letting it go farther then that would be setting myself up for heartache, as he is not wired for monogamy. So I am content to be JUST a friend, and be happy for him because he is happy, and leave it at that. |

Question for the girls

I would rather my guy play video games!
I would prefer if he played MMOs rather then first person shooters....mostly so I can play too. At least I would know that he understands me in that respect. |

When I was graduating, another teacher candidate was not given her degree because a student found her face book page, and it showed her drinking from one of those red plastic disposable cups (the kind people play beer pong with). The caption said "drunken pirate". If the girl had just had a sense to NOT add the caption (or make in say something harmless) nothing would have happened.
This was after about 30 dozen warnings from the ED department admin, AND out profs, AND various guest speakers. So this doesn't surprise me too much. That said, even though I don't lead a very interesting personal life (ie: non at all), it is kinda scary how teachers are held to such a different standard than most other professionals. If she had been a doctor, would people have been as bothered by it? Still, it's not like you don't know what you are getting into when you decide to teach. |

*Has been writing too many Cover letters and Resumes recently*
Lets see: BS in English Education, Preliminary teaching certificates for Secondary ELA in PA and CA, Almost done with BTSA (A CA qualification) Certified to teach the Language! Program, completed a Classroom management class For non-ED stuff: Can type about 40 words a minute, Can edit existing web pages, and create new content based on pre-existing templates. Familure with most of the Microsoft Office Suite, Learn new software easily, can troubleshoot computers, can conduct research on the computer. Non Computer stuff: Familiar with managing groups of people, comfortable with public speaking (especially to groups of 30 or so), an effective communicator, take and give advice as needed, gracefully. There is more, but you all dont need to hear my whole cover letter spiel. |

But i have found when i get to know them, ask them about their lives...go round the room at meetings and ask what they are doing for the weekend, holiday, etc..it keeps them engaged, gets them talking as a group, and they have more of a buy in and act better..just a thought... I do do that....problem is, a lot of times, someone will say something, and another kid will make a rude comment about it, and I've lost them all again. They treat each other so horribly, and they don't understand why it matters. Of course on certain holidays our teacher would bring snacks. we would watch a really good movie and eat popcorn or whatever. And when I got to high school before like spring break or whatever some of our teachers would let us watch movies too. because they knew that alot of people would be traveling for spring break. and alot of people would leave school early too. Not allowed to bring in snacks unless they come from a certain list, all of which are boring or expensive. Movies have to be approved by the board, and have to be connected to the standards and what we are currently teaching (and yes, they know what we are teaching, because we are on pacing guides) And it's middle school, so they can't leave early. I can't blow off the day with games and such because state testing starts after Easter break. |

Whoo hoo, another fellow soulmate! The middle school dynamic. I love them, but I'm getting out of it at the end of this year. I suck at classroom management, and that means every day is a huge trial. I have tried everything, been to classes, ect. But none of it has worked. I'm hoping to find a job where I don't spend my entire time making people do things they hate. But anyway, I still have 2.5 months to go, so I need to survive. Hence: the April Fools Jokes. Maybe if I can get them laughing, I can engage them... |

I bought one of those portable shower dealie things. It works for those times when you have nothing else! You have to have a tree though. Yeah, except I was one of only two girls on the trip and it was a "keep up with the guys" kind of thing. Not that I was about to jump in the cold mountain creek, the way they did. You should have heard them yell! Meanwhile, us girls were cooking a real breakfast of sausages and apples over the fire. The boys all drooled, but they had only brought oatmeal. The looks they gave us made the whole trip worth it! |

Eeep! I teach middle school. Tomorrow is April Fools Day. Yikes! I want to make a preemptive strike. What can I do??
I don't want to give a monster test, because then I would have to grade the blasted thing. (besides that, i would also have to create it, and that is a pain.) Anyway, I need harmless April Fools Jokes that don't require too much setup. |

I have done up to seven, but managed sink baths most days. My hair was pretty nasty by the end though. Yay camping. At least the campground DID have running water.

I love to cook for people. When I can't do that, I take them out to eat, or give them food related gifts. Why? Because, for me, food and love go hand in hand. How often do you choose to share a meal with someone you dislike? (Business lunches aside). Let's do lunch! That sounds fun. It is fun. My roommates and I used to swap meals to pay each other back for bills and such. You know: "I owe you 10 bucks for the electric bill. How does sushi sound?" We are a bit distant for a picnic though. But if you have any recipes you want to swap, I am always open. ~Bigtime foodie |

Hmm...One pair of sneakers...one pair of flip-flops....one pair of slippers...two pair of dress shoes that I never wear (one brown, one black, but they hurt my feet too much to wear)
What was that about too many shoes again? Although, I admit, I am definitely NOT a girly girl. |

Probably never.
My favorite not-swear word is "crud" right now. Prior to that, I was given to say "Blast." I don't really swear much. I realize that makes me weird, and I'm ok with that. |

Three+:
Two normal pillows that usually end up under my head and/or along my upper back (side sleeper), and one "body pillow" that I tuck between my knees and cuddle, or sprawl on top of in the rare occasion that I end up sleeping half on my stomach. |

Do you mean give up the computer, or give up Mingle? Because there is no way I would give up surfing the net, chatting with my friends, or playing video games....but I might get out more.
As far as mingle goes...I would probably still check the messege boards once in a while, just to see how the characters I have met on here are doing. |
