If you're gonna get fishies for the kids...I'd reccoment goldfish...they come in a lot of varieties now...they're inexpensive...& easy to replace...tears

Eww...goldfish. They might be inexpensive, but they tend to require a lot more maintenance. They are dirty fish.

In general, hobbyists suggest you start with a 20 gallon, and non-live bearing tropical fish, as the bigger tanks and these fish tend to be easier to maintain.

I am partial to neon tetras (schools of 6 or more) myself, and they are easy fish to keep, and colorful enough to be interesting.

I'm with your kids on this one though. I love pet stores. If I go in for some kitty shampoo, I'm going to spend at least an hour looking at all the critters, and going "I want one!"

It is hard to resist answering posts like this when you are an English major.

You know, if you want to be grammatically correct "Marry me?" is not a complete question. It is a fragment. Adding the words "Will you" in front of it would make it complete.

Just like your sentence, "A few things here,” again, another fragment. Not a full complete sentence.

Actually, if you make the question mark into an exclamation point or a period "Marry me!" would be a complete sentence. This is an imperative sentence, and the subject is understood to be "you". We just went over imperatives and "subjects in unusual orders" a few weeks ago with my students.

Is "do me" a complete sentence?

If so please, do me ! drool rofl

The same rule applies there. If you say "Do me." it is indeed a complete sentence. Just the same, I would rather not.

Edit: The English teacher misplaced a comma. >.<

Having a new job by the end of summer.....and, yeah, the answer is the same, because I don't know what I will be doing yet.

You can buy Reese's Peanut Butter. It isn't Quite the same, not as sweet, but you could add powdered sugar to it and whip it up in your mixer maybe?

Edit: Great minds think alike?

I would say yes. It doesn't have to be romantic to be love.

The world needs Don Quixotes

Well, I didn't think that I was jousting at windmills. After all, he asked for suggestions first, which means he is probably willing to take them. That means that my efforts are not as futile as Quixotes'.

just remember that there is only enough water in desert to grow one S

That is an adorable way to remember how to spell that word. I'm pretty sure that particular mistake was just a typo though, because I always remember that there are two Ss in Dessert, because you always want more of it.

I have a clumsy habit of sticking double letters where they don't belong when I type. I don't do it when I am hand writing things, so I blame my imperfect typing skills.

Yes, I think it is better.

Your new main picture is giving me the heebees though. :) Who is that character?

Good luck with the effort. Trying to teach writing on the internet is like one person plugging a dam with eighty million holes.

Oh, don't be such a pessimist. Besides, I was just trying to be helpful. A lot of people don't know how white space works for helping the ease of reading.

Your profile looks good, but... I noticed you critiqued another profile and pointed out a few mistakes. You have a couple of spelling mistakes of your own.

1. High Dessert
2. Oppertunity

The abbreviation of Renaissance Fair is also not correct.

Peace flowerforyou

Thank you. I fixed them. Hmm...a High Dessert would probably be preferable. I would like one of those apple pie slices with a mountain of whipped cream, please. :)

I always forget the number of Ns in "Renaissance." Thank you for catching it. "Faire" is spelled with an "E" on purpose though.

I really don't have any excuse for "Opportunity"...none at all.

I just started spending time on the forums today, so even though I have been on Mingle for a while, I have never asked anyone about my profile.
What do you think?

Oh yeah, before you say it, I know I should have more photos. I'll get to that...eventually. I just don't have much that is recent, and can't manage a decent photo of myself, by myself.

Thank you, thank you. I hope my dream-self hasn't been scaring away the people who really belong there.

I worked at a Library through college. It was pretty good. There are always some things you dislike, like when the AC AND the Elevator goes out, in the Middle of August, and you need to go shelve books on the 11th floor. That was a good example of heat rising for your Science Majors.... But it was overall a good job, especially when you needed to get school work done.
