Cowboy...you said that if you didn't have faith that you wouldn't have a reason to live....was that statement true or were you lying?

Cowboy you listed a whole bunch of things that require 'works' to accomplish...

Yet not one of the listed 'points' can be accomplished by 'faith'.

Are you trying to say that faith and works are the same?

They are not.

Faith is.

Works is not.

works might get one to the point of faith but Works will not happen by faith alone.

I'm not sure why Cowboy keep bringing up eating the next day as being faith since there are people in the world that have faith but yet starve to death, what's the point of having faith in the hopes that you won't starve but yet do starve ...in this example of food it displays the true nature of faith... hopelessness

and what does a job has to do with faith...create a job if you can't find one, did Jesus need faith to be a carpenter or did he learn how to cut wood and how to nail things to wood...no pun intended

so far the only thing Cowboy said about faith that makes sense is that he need it as a reason to live... because that points to his real problem that he may be suicidal

If I didn't have faith that I would make something of my life, yes there would be no reason.

Do you have faith that you will make something of your life? Not something great, famous, or anything of that nature. But something for you. Do you have faith that you will amount to nothing in the end? Or do you have faith you will have done a good job in your life?

Oh but that is why people commit suicide. They have no faith in that their lives will get any better or amount to anything.

people comitted suicide for many reasons...and one of them is depression which seem what you are describing about needing faith to want to live

"faith" accomplishes nothing. Faith is the drive that drives people to try to do the things they are trying to do in their lives.

People take on a job cause they have faith they will make enough money with that job to pay their bills and take care of their lives. If they didn't have faith that the job would be sufficient to pay their bills, why would they take the job on? What would be the point? Would that not be wasting your time and energy doing something that will get you no where?

Depression, anger, all have to do with lack of faith.

Depression - Lack in faith it will get better, thus causing them to be depressed cause they have no faith it will get better.
Anger - Lack in faith it will get better,thus causing them to anger at how it is and seeing no way out of it.

no Cowboy..depression is generally a result of a chemical imbalance ...not because someone lacks faith .....but needing faith to live is a sympton of depression

But regardless of any chemicals in you, in your mind the reason one gets depressed is a lack of faith in something. People don't just get depressed for no reason.

Faith is not the same as hope.

FATH is the SUBSTANCE of things HOPED for,

and the EVIDENCE of things UNSEEN (not yet seen)

so Christian that get depress or get sick and go to to the doctor have a lack of faith

and those Christian hospitals don't actually have doctors in them trying to cure depression or other sickness with medicine...they just have priests in them performing faith healings and exorcisms

We have sickness in this world for our disobedience in the Garden of Eden. Yes depression is feeling bad, down, sad, about something you fear is either going to happen or isn't going to happen. Why fear things to come if one has faith in God that it will either happen or won't "would depend on the desire of the person, depending on different circumstances".

But yes, Christians that get depressed are merely displaying a lack of faith in what ever they are "depressed" about. They have let Satan win that battle, putting doubt in their heart.
