We aren't told to "preach" the word. All of us can't be "preachers". Preachers are people God calls to be as such, they spread the word to those whom wish to listen, those whom already have knowledge of these scriptures, ect. We're in a discussion forum. Preaching can NOT be done here, for a lot of people in this forum didn't come here specifically to hear the word. They come to 'discuss' religious beliefs. So again, 'preaching' could NEVER be done in this forum. Something a long the lines as 'sermons' could be done. That would involve someone making a thread, to just post various verses on a specific thing. Not 'discuss' those verses. Hmmm perhaps, but really it still depends on what preaching is to you, I dont want anyone preaching to me, as here to be preached to is not nice, its basically someone shoving something down you neck.. I dont want to go to church and have to listen to someones opinion, that may or may not be right.I want to go and be able to interact with what is going on.which is what happens now in heaps of churches here,. That's right Cowboy. What you call "discussion" is what other people call "Preaching."
"Spreading the word" is preaching. If the word is a LIE, it's lying. If what you say is true, not all will believe you. If you claim what you say is true, you may be asked to prove it. If you can't prove it, but you say it anyway, then its Preaching. |

No its not really odd, What Jesus preached would have been truth, with love and sincerity, However now, normally people stand there with their own biased opinion, and just demand that you believe it. To me that is wrong, so I guess I just have a bad opinion of the word preaching, but really its not the word just the way people do it and expect that because they say they are preaching the word, that its there right to say whatever they want without any consequences as they have to be right. |

We can't all be preachers. well Cowboy since you won't let it go I guess it's time to pull a passage form the bible that "specifically" states why what you have been doing in here was "preaching" Mark 16:15 And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and "preach" the gospel to every creature. and before you said that he told that only to his disciples here's another passage Matt 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, so Cowboy....are you a disciple of Jesus? |

Josie...it sounds like you are a Pascal's Wager Christian WEll really Ihave no idea, Once upon a time I was a strong Christian, but then after seeing so much rubbish done in the name Of Jesus or God, I no longer wanted anything to do with the church. Nor do I want to be associated with the name. Soooooooooooooooo I dont know what I am, really I dont care what I am, as long as I know who I am and what I personally believe it doesnt bother me. I respect other peoples opinions, but dont try and change them. Yep I like a good debate and am happy to stand on either side if I agre with it, . So I guess any label is fine with me. |
