@swiss_armyknife

Especially considering my fingers melt every time I touch a computer running /THAT/ operating system.

I'm really looking forward to MS losing their dominant position, which hopefully will be the trend (more so in Europe), just look at ODF, OLPC and the fines. Even my local council (government to you) no longer uses MS products.

Nothing stifles development and progression more than a monopoly.

Cheer MsWizard

Sounds a bit like the Breakfast Club, but with an un-happy ending.

Sounds like a good read, thanks.

Sorry, first proper attempt at a poem.

I've been inspired into reading about meter, and would like to get into more beat style poetry such as Sual Williams etc.

I'm not so much concerned about rhyming poetry styles.

If anyone has any good books they would like to share, I'd be grateful.

I've been running lines through my head all day, and thought I'd get something out, unfortunately for you, I've decided to share it.

Concealed by your different uniform,
Oh look at me, I'm so damned special,
Check us out, none of us conform,
Keep telling yourself, that your not equal.
Seeking acceptance, from people unknown,
Upsetting the norm, like you think you should,
Changing yourself to stay in that zone,
Keel over now, please just remove your hood!
Eventually there is no more to say,
Reality is, I hate you anyway.

Ok, something a bit different.

I'll post a word, then someone post a word which is as different as possible from the previous word.

Bonus points for guessing the seed and path the person took to their word.

This looks like an interesting thread to watch.

Not being American myself, its interesting to see that what Americans views on Bush are.

Well, for one of my first attempts at poetry, I don't think it went too bad.

Have a look.

There is a girl whos My Reaper,
I really think shes a keeper,
I'm far to scared,
To make it declared,
I want to shoot gunk in her peeper.

Funnily enough, I refer to her as "My Reaper" - which while a bit "OMFG 14YR OLD ANSGST !!!111!!!" isn't too far from the truth.

I think this thread has been diverted enough already (sorry nurjoyce), maybe one day I'll start a thread about it.

Ouch!

I tend to get bored with my partners - I'm no great free thinker or anything (more of a clown), but I find it hard to find somebody who stimulates me intellectually, or is compatible with my sense of humor.

Well there is one girl who can and does, but I'm too **** scared to even think about having a relationship with her - I don't want to ruin it for the sake of getting laid.

ak0 - I'm just a realist, if an idiot like me can find somebody, then anyone can. Although I am single right now, I've not had a bad history with regards to love, and I'm on good terms with all me ex's - which I'm very proud of.

nurjoyce - Some people relish having to think of other people, or at least when you meet someone you love, you will relish considering them as you go about you day to day life.

You know when your waiting for water to boil, you sit there and watch it, and it appears to take much longer...

The same goes for dating, if its constantly on your mind, then you will be constantly frustrated by not finding someone NOW.

Stop looking, and you will find somebody in (what appears to be) no time...

Its all about perception.

A plus note is, that there are 6,625,892,794 people on the planet, and although you will only meet a fraction of them, how could there not be the perfect person for you out there?

The odds are in your favor!

+1 For Linux

Seriously, at least give Ubuntu a try, you download it, burn it onto to disc, and when it boots, you can try it before you install it. If you are having problems downloading and burning an ISO simply visit: https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ and you can order a free CD.

If you order a free CD, please remember to pass it on when your done!
