6 hours I have been working on my friends book foxing the spacing and everything. Just for it not to allow me to convert it to a PDF file. I have even tried saving it to my flash drive and opening it on my desktop thinking that maybe Vista was just being a pain in my ass. But no luck. The moment I opened it onto my desk top the spacing screwed up all over again. It is perfect on my laptop. But I just can not seem to convert it. I am loosing it. Can anybody PLEASE help me. I am begging you!

what program are you using to convert it?

I only use Cute PDF Writer, you can google it, it's a free download. I have never had any problems with it ever.

What application are you trying to use to convert the file to a PDF?

On Window, you can print to a PDF file by install CutePDF which can be found here:

http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp

Then you just print to the CutePDF that will appear in your list of printer, and it will ask you where to save the file.

You could also use OpenOffice from: http://openoffice.org/ which support saving documents as PDFs natively.

I am using Corel Word Perfect and trying to switch it over to Adobe. I do not want to print. It is over 200 pages long. Last thing I want is to print. But when I try to open it in Adobe there is no document that even says it exists.

Ahhh you seem to be misunderstanding what I'm saying, but I can see why.

When you 'print' to CutePDF writer, it doesn't physically print, it generates a PDF and saves the file to disk. No paper comes out of your printer.

Yep it's like a printer driver. Windows has it's own which is the MS XPS writer.

It lists CutePDF as a printer and will write Adobe compatible PDF file to disk

Especially considering my fingers melt every time I touch a computer running /THAT/ operating system.

I'm really looking forward to MS losing their dominant position, which hopefully will be the trend (more so in Europe), just look at ODF, OLPC and the fines. Even my local council (government to you) no longer uses MS products.

Nothing stifles development and progression more than a monopoly.
