It seems that you come across more "career women" these days. Women who are in their thirties and forties, with looks fading fast, that still don't quite understand what men want.

For some reason, with all the intelligence and value this group gives to themselves, this miss a fundamental truth. Men are not attracted to women who try to compete with them.

Men, for the most part, excepting for contentious objectors, peace-niks, and fans of John Mayer, tend to like women to be feminine, soft, sensitive, etc - qualities that men typically do not (except as above) possess.

Why can't these women, take off the suit, stop watching Sports Center, and just be a girl?

You are entitled to your view, but please only speak for yourself, and do NOT equate you to men in general. Are you threatened by successful women?

That seems very likely.

The only way there can be a competition is if both parties are competing. If I am secure in who I am.. and she is secure in who she is. We are secure in the relationship... Competition is a non-issue.

The sort of relationship you are alluding to is more like a job, sporting event... something you see in the social dynamic of wolves.... There is an opposition, strategies, manipulation and defense from both.

So... If you, Italian, find yourself competing with your S.O....Blame it on her all you want. However, you are being competitive as well.

Competition by it's very definition, requires more then one.

I can't see how anyone in their right mind, male or female would want to come home to that every day.

Why is it everyone feels the need to be 21st century PC? Face the facts women of the 21st century, you simply are not attractive to men if you are competing with them!! Get over yourselves! Geez!

NOTE TO EVERYONE EVERYWHERE:
STOP MAKING RIDICULOUS GENERALIZATIONS!!!
To say it is one thing, but use words like 'most' or 'majority'. It just so happens the first three girls I ever dated where also the only ones who challenged my viewpoints and grade point average in school. See, stereotypes allow me to respond as thus:

YOU ARE WRONG. NEXT!

My opinion on the OP of this topic.

I preferr a strong intelligent lady, not afraid to speak her thoughts; can carry a good open debate, may know more than me on a subject & is not going to be pushed around by ANY man.
Women are the same as a man in any; except physical; standards as far as jobs go.

If you are INSECURE with strong women, that is YOUR problem; DO NOT say it is mine. Married one of the strongest ladies I have ever known & NEVER regretted it.

Okay...I have read these posts and have taken my time in figuring out my reply.....

You say no man wants a woman who comes home and flaunts the fact that she makes more money than he does.......most women don't want a man who does that either.

You say a woman's looks are fading fast in their 30's and 40's, most men don't age gracefully either, just look thru the photos on the profiles. I know I am not "model-material" but that doesn't bother me, (or him <<-----).

"This group" doesn't need to give themselves intelligence and values....we have earned them and are only acknowledging them instead of hiding these features. We are not trying to compete with men but survive in this world after, for some of us, what an under-achieving man left us with.

You feel that we can't be assertive in the business world, proud of our accomplishments to our partners when we get home, and talk with him about sports and who is playing well or having a s*cky season, that when we dress to go out or get ready for bed, we can't knock your socks off????

My best friend walks around in jeans and a t-shirt with a baseball cap on at work everyday, but when she dresses to go out......she has even had famous male singers tell her how fantastic she looks. She could make every (okay, almost every) man on this site drool, even the gays---we work with plenty of them and they tell her all the time how beautiful she is.
My pictures may not show it, but I clean up real nice when I go out and I have made guys walk into walls when they see me.

In one of your posts you asked what man wants to be with a woman who knows more about sports than he does? The gentleman in the picture with me is one. We met on this site and met in person a few months back in Baltimore. I took him to his first live baseball game, bought a few beers and sat in the stands and cheered just as loud as any other guy there. And he loved every minute of it. And if you don't think he loves this woman for being like that.....I have a ring on my left hand that proves you wrong.

As to the Alpha-male and that is how men are "programed"....an Alpha-male is the dominate role, so your comments are that men are dominate over females. My ex felt that way too....and tried to beat his way of thinking into me---didn't work!

Maybe women got smart and found a way to provide for themselves since history has shown as a woman ages, their husbands trade them in for a younger model. God forbid a woman depend on a man for security!!

I have a high powered position but neither wear a suit nor watch ESPN. I have bigger balls than a lot of men but that doesn't mean I can't be the woman in a relationship. I enjoy being a girl but by no means think you can run over me OR chain me to the stove.
Oh that was so well said!!!! TY TY TY Yeah I had to get a set of gonads too....It seems to be a "must have" nowadays.

Seems like most everyone here has 'missed' most of your points. And, by the way, I was being facetious & I don't lack for male friends/dates, but then again, by your definition these can't be 'real men'.
