Well even though this is called mingleAA I still will talk. So, I just got back from my second NA meeting today. Picked up a white Key Chain (Just For Today) this morning. And the second meeting made me realize not only is this gonna be harder than i really thought(but there from the start I not giving addiction the credit it deserves) but I also realize that this is completely possible. The first time I got clean it was not really through trying it just happened and all of the sudden i was at 2 years. Yeah, same on me for ever thinking it was that easy. But now 2 years is a long way off but in 2 years from today hopefully I can stand up in a meeting and Say "Hi my name is Stephen and I'm an addict, celebrating 2 years clean today..." I accompanied a friend of mine when he received that white key chain. It was a big step for him. I remember it well. Now...he has 22 months clean and sober. One day at a time.

I got weight issues . I lose wieght and then I put it all back......and it continues like that . I just can not lose weight and keep it that way for long . Struggle of my life !!!.

Stopped drinking back in '73. Nope,it's not a Fight,just constant work to stay sober. "We have stopped fighting everybody and everything.We had to! It works if you work it!

Clean and sober here 9months...well on 9/15...working those steps...doing that service work...gotta love it...thanks NA keep coming back it works if you work it

Well i can't say from experience i never drank or did drugs, I stayed away from it so far. I don't like seeing where it leads to plus i had an ex who used to binge few days a week was bad.

Good Morning Everyone My name is Jayne (Twitch) and I am an alcoholic. I am sober for 16 yrs. First drink at 13; last drink at 37, April 1, 1992 (my bottom which ended in jail). Walked into my first AA meeting and only by the Grace of God I've never looked back. Although on ocassion I do GLANCE at my past to keep it green, I never STARE at it. I work a program, I have the same sponsor (who also has a sponsor). I sponsor other women, I don't drink and go to meetings. I lost my job in January 2008 and things have been rough for me. I have not felt the need to drink -- it's not an option. If any of you need to talk you can e-mail me. We are all in this together; we can't do it alone. Hey, Jayne...thank you for sharing and the offer to talk. I don't have a particular problem but know those who do.
