In a little under 1 1/2 hours, I'll be 6 years sober, and well into my 7th. ;-) As it turns out, not only did I get my 6 year solid silver coin for free from my vendor, but the meeting bought one for me too. That's a first. Of course, the newcomer's chip is the most expensive chip you'll ever get. Six years, Joe.

Cant find my big book, just moved, cant wait to either find it, or pick up a new one. I need a new sponsor, I am hoping to find someone my moms age or older. I could never have a sponsor my own age, Id never respect them. Thank God for the program, the most personal growth Ive ever had. I hope my addict/alcaholic brother is someone who accepts the program, he needs it. I have 3 years sober. I do much service work, and it keeps me sober, and honest with myself. I am blessed.

oops wrong forum, well i guess i can say that i haven't smoked weed in years just for the fact that it stays in ur system too long. never was physicaly addictive for me. as for alcohol... its been ten mins.

Well even though this is called mingleAA I still will talk. So, I just got back from my second NA meeting today. Picked up a white Key Chain (Just For Today) this morning. And the second meeting made me realize not only is this gonna be harder than i really thought(but there from the start I not giving addiction the credit it deserves) but I also realize that this is completely possible. The first time I got clean it was not really through trying it just happened and all of the sudden i was at 2 years. Yeah, same on me for ever thinking it was that easy. But now 2 years is a long way off but in 2 years from today hopefully I can stand up in a meeting and Say "Hi my name is Stephen and I'm an addict, celebrating 2 years clean today..."

Well how about NA? I was doing coke an pills every weekend. By the time I stopped using, I was up to an 8ball by myself just bout everyday an 80mgs of oxi a couple times a day. Was pretty bad, never got in trouble with the law..thank god. But Its been about 3years, still gets hard at times, would love to have a line here or there but I just tell myself no an remember back to those days. Was telling my family an friends lies, spending all my money, not doing so hot in high school, dropped a lot of weight(which I gained back as soon as I stopped) I do still drink from time to time, but its not bad I know my limit.
