Topic: Why we Shouldnt have Faith In Science | |
---|---|
what I see: Christians are trying to give you something that they see as special Atheists are trying to take something away from you hmmmmmm I see the first part almost the same. But when you decide not to accept the something, xtian philosophy is to tell you that you are not going to heaven. So unless you believe that something, you are going to hell. Atheism isnt trying to take something away. There is nothing to try and take away in the first place. If your faith is strong, nothing an atheist will say will change your belief system, and you will not get upset about it. Its only when your faith is challenged, do most xtians try to defend themselves by attacking the atheist with the words "hater" and "heathen" |

hmmmmm "xtians" seems kind of intentionally demeaning though

hmmmmm "xtians" seems kind of intentionally demeaning though only if you take it as such. Do you find xmas demeaning? |
actually for both it would depend on the context and apparent intent in it's use
its intent is that I cannot be arsed to write out christmas or christian.
Nothing more. |

its intent is that I cannot be arsed to write out christmas or christian. Nothing more. If you're abbreviating it like xmas, then taking away Christ from it should leave xians, not xtians right? Or is there some double meaning there? |

Well if you're going to be lazy at least have standards! If I had standards, I wouldn't be lazy. Would I? |
The two are not mutually exclusive
Maybe, but if I want to be lazy, then surely I have a right to be as lazy as I want.
Plus I am not using xmas in my posts. It was used as an example. |

lol OK then, some other infection. Are you saying that you have not needed medicine once in your life? i have yes. Well, I think his point was no religious leaders or preachers or priests or ministers were responsible for the discovery of penicillin. In fact, if anything the church has been a nuisance in respect to most any scientific discovery. You are familiar with Galileo correct? “the Father of Modern Science" and such? |
