Is your faith so great that you would give away all your worldly possessions to help those in need or is it just something you do from time to time to salve your conscience and hope that God is watching to score some brownie points? |

No, you were influenced by your parents, their beliefs and the beliefs of others around you when you were growing up. Believing in God is not somthing i have to do or am scared to do or ill go to hell, its somthing i want to do... THAT I understand, so if you believe in God, and so do Muslims and Jews and Pagans (in their case many Gods) and Hindus (ditto on the many) and so on, who is right as to the interpretation of what/who God is? |

A very basic way of thinking when it comes to religion on this one, lol... If Christianity is the only religion which if you dont believe you have hell as the only other option... wouldnt that be a good place to start, since all other religions are a joke and forgive regardless of if you truly want it or not? Honestly as kid if you couldnt get in trouble and be forgived for whatever you did, would u have morals? |

So in other words, a religion is ONLY worthwhile in your opinion if it condemns any non-believers to eternal hell fire and damnation? To your way of thinking, that is merely demonstrating good parenting skills? I found this about a week ago while skimming Proverbs.
Proverbs 23 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Beat your children hard and often. Don't worry about hurting them. You may break a few bones and cause some brain damage, but it isn't going to kill them. And even if it does, they'll be better off for it. They'll thank you in heaven for beating the hell out of them. |

You WANT ME? to believe that they are telling the truth, when people on a daily basis get paid off from drug companies to hide certain information? You clearly don't know the difference between science, technology, and business. However, just to make a point. If you believe in the Bible you are putting your faith in the MEN who wrote it. You can only put your faith in man. Who told you that the Bible was the word of God? Did God tell you that? Highly unlikely. If God could talk to you directly he'd hardly need to write a book! Well you can call my answer simplistic but I think that there is nothing wrong with science. It's man's attempts to puff himself up THROUGH science that is the problem.
I don't discount anything... God is God of the universe & He can do whatever he wants however he wants. The only thing wrong with the scenario is man's pride...to want to bite the very hand that feeds...not only them but all of us. Some never think of how their decisions & pride affect the rest of us. My 2 cents...  |

u hit the nail on the head. this is why you have no idea what you are worshipping.i feel this is right. the messiah went right at the pharasees.and i say it the way it is. if you can not show where it is wrong then it must be right.u r showing exactly what i say is true. it is hard to prove the truth wrong. is all i can say. Uh...miles...this isn't a contest.... God said He would use the simple to confound the wisdom of the wise. Scolarship programs don't always lead to discernment or a relationship with God, or His secret wisdom & knowledge. ...but that's for each to reject... Right? You have that right to reject the testimony of those who live the life & have the experience but don't say "prove it" by words alone. OK? Thanks
