Everyone criticizes Lesnar for being disrespectful, but who was that fighter that wore a lucha libre mask prior to his match with Lesnar (and subsequently swallowed his own teeth in under a minute)?

Also, people have to remember that mixed martial arts is a bottom line conscious industry. And the bottom line is money.

UGH... WWE trash should stay where they are. That big dumb lop Lesnar is making a mockery of the UFC with his horrible attitude. But all Dana White sees is $$$.

Look beyond your own personal biases towards WWE. I myself have no love for WWE (and therefore won't defend them), however, Lesnar is an athlete with a legitimate athletic background and very real wrestling skills. WWE, and his association with WWE have nothing to do with anything. It wouldn't matter if Lesnar previously worked in a baggy clown costume in the circus. The guy is a legitimate champion.

You even have other legit athletes who know a heck of a lot more about MMA and UFC than either you or I praising his legit skills. I'm talking about Randy Couture, who thinks Lesnar might have what it takes to give Fedor a run for his money.

I can relate...

I moved on June 9th of this year...and in less than a month, the landlord and I cannot stand to be around each other.

The problems started on the day I moved in. The landlady (with whom I share this condo suite) forbade me from using the oven. Without giving me a reason why. I just shrugged and brought a toaster oven.

Then three and a half weeks into my new situation, she suddenly decides that I'm not worth the thought it takes to close the patio door when she smokes outside. The argument we had after that incident was filled with lots of colorful four letter words, I can assure you.

When I gave notice, I was told it was improper notice, then I get an earful about how I'm too demanding (the need not to be poisoned with second hand smoke is too demanding...pfft), and that my damage deposit will go to fix the door I allegedly broke on the day I moved in (pure bs) and to clean the nonexistent stains on the carpet.

Yes, it's been a real joy to live here.

Always do a stop payment on these matters the same day you realize there's a problem. I had a nasty incident where the government was taking out five hundred dollars out of my bank account...if I had waited until the next day to sort it out, I would never have seen that five hundred again.

Received a NBA basketball game for XBox. In the first 10 minutes of playing the game froze. This does this all the time now.

I would understand if a pc game doesn't work for maybe I don't have enough RAM or memory, or the correct graphic card or what have you, but a XBOX game.

One thing it does well is play my movies. So now I use it as a dvd playerlaugh

I've had that problem with previous 360s, and it usually means a red ring of death is imminent.

My advice to you is to prepare yourself mentally for the challenging times ahead.

how do you think stone cold would do against some of the really good and popular ufc fighters? think he would have a chance?

Certain professional wrestlers with a background in freestyle wrestling would have a very good chance in mixed martial arts (UFC).

Brock Lesnar is an obvious choice. Bobby Lashley has turned some heads as a fighter. Were he a few years younger and not bogged down with injuries, I believe Kurt Angle could have given anyone a run for his money.

The old Golden Age wrestlers such as Frank Gotch, Ed "the Strangler" Lewis, John Pesek and Lou Thesz would have thrived in today's UFC.

But Steve Austin? An accomplished wrestler on the professional side, but one that isn't trained in any fighting style...so, that would be no, obviously. Hell, the guy doesn't even wrestle professionally anymore because of his bad neck and a probable heart condition.

Several weeks ago, I had a vivid dream. It was a prophetic dream, one that I feel was warning me of the turmoil ahead. In it, I was a tall building. Yes, I was a building. And I believe I was on fire. Yet, I felt no pain. But I felt significant distress and concern for the droves of tiny people (as I was a building, I perceived them as tiny) inside me. The tiny people were on fire, and they stood at the windows of the building emitting tiny and fruitless screams for help that would never be answered. In my haste to assist them and perhaps have some chance at saving their tiny lives, I reached for a quilt...yes, although I believed myself to be a building, I was startled to find that I could reach things, even as I was aware that I had no appendages with which to reach. It was at this point that I was waking up, yet I still felt driven to find little threads that were attached to the quilt and hold them to my face. This, I felt certain, would ease the tiny peoples’ suffering. As driven as I was, I became incensed as I pawed around in the darkness in a vain attempt to find the threads.

At the time I had the dream, I had just moved in to a new place with a roommate (a smoker). The dream told me of the coming storm, and a very serious dispute with my landlady that could become a legal matter (long story).

I believe that the building represented myself. The fact that it was on fire reflected the tenuous foundation on which I had so recently set myself upon. The screaming denizens may be some aspect of myself that I fear may be forever lost, while the quilt represents my unconventional (fruitless?) attempt to solve the problem.

Do I believe dreams can devise the future? Not in the prophetic sense. I believe there is a part within each of us that is more in touch with the world we live in, and is better able to devine "possible" futures...not as mystic as it sounds, kind of more like seeing a rotten sandwich in the fridge and knowing that eating that sandwich will bring horrible carnage to your bowel without actually eating the sandwich. Dreams reflect our hopes and fears, our desires, and possible answers to our problems. On some level, I didn't like or trust the landlady from the beginning, but I was too wrapped up in other matters to consciously see it. That is what dreams do...they offer an alternate view of the world when we ourselves are too stubborn to consciously perceive it.

It would have to depend on the system. Every gaming system has a favorite in my book. See what I mean.

Dos - Traffic Department 2192
Win 3.1 - Castle of the Winds
Win 95-2000 & ME - Doom 2
Window XP - Star Wars KOTOR
Window Vista - Doom 3 (Only because it one of the few older game that work on it with out Fan mods.)

Atari 2600 - River Raid
Atari Jaguar - Iron Soldier

Nes - Super Mario Bros. 3
Gameboy - Zelda: Link's Awaking
DS- Mario Kart
Snes - Chrono Trigger
N64 - Conker's Bad Fur Day
GameCube - Sonic Adventure DX
Wii - Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Sega Game Gear - Sonic the Hedgehog
Sega Genesis - Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sega CD - Sonic CD
DreamCast - Marvel vs Capcom

PS1 - Final Fantasy 7 (hands down)
PS2 - Silent Hill 3
PS3 - Ninja Gaiden Sigma

As you can see, it would have to depend, But if I had to pick only one...

Chrono Trigger

Conker's Bad Fur Day was a very well executed paltfomer game and also happens to be the funniest game ever.

Conker Live and Reloaded is an excellent updated version of the old game.

The first series of games that made me stay up all night were Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 and 3 for the Super NES. I fondly remember sticking DKC 3 in particular in the system at 11 pm the first night I rented it. Eleven straight hours of gaming, I still hadn't finished it. At 10 am the next morning, I finally took a break to eat breakfast, then was back playing until about 2:30, when I finished it.

The original MarioKart for Super NES is one of my most played games of all-time.

In terms of recent games, Fable, Fable Lost Chapters, Fable 2, Psychonauts, Overlord and Overlord 2 are the best quality-wise.

I'm playing Overlord 2 primarily, but gamerscore? Nah, I don't pay attention to that.

I just heard:

Akitoshi Saito, the wrestler who executed the maneuver that led to the death of Mitsuharu Misawa is on suicide watch.

Japanese fans have been said to have attacked his home.

Geez. surprised

The Frogged Face Samuri!?! Wasn't he also the second Tiger Mask? We have lost a great talent, but I think he would have liked going in the ring.

I thought I was the only "puro" aficianado on this site!

Now I know that most of you that post regularly on the forums do not hold professional wrestling in the highest esteem. If you are such a person, I very humbly and respectfully request that you refrain from posting in this topic. This is for the people who do care about wrestling.

The name Mitsuharu Misawa is a name many stateside wrestling fans may not recognize. He never wrestled in WWE. He never wrestled in TNA. Throughout his storied career, he only appeared in North American rings a handful of times.

But Misawa was one of the most celebrated and gifted wrestlers in the Orient. He was a 5-time All Japan Triple Crown champion and a 3-time GHC heavyweight champion. And he ended up giving thirty years of his life, culminating in the end of his life, to the sport of wrestling.

On June 13th, 2009, Misawa was wrestling in a tag match on a Pro Wrestling Noah show. Only a few minutes into the match, Akitoshi Saito delivered a back suplex, which was well-executed and not botched. Misawa's heart stopped beating from the impact his body sustained. Paramedics rushed to the ring and tried for several minutes to resuscitate Misawa as concerned Japanese fans called out his name.

Misawa was then rushed to a hospital. He was pronounced dead at approximately 10:10 PM (Japanese time), just hours after the match. He was five days short of his 48th birthday.

As an avid follower of Japanese wrestling, I'm still pretty choked. Misawa meant everything to Japanese wrestling. He was the country's most popular and dominant wrestler of the past two decades, he was owner of one of the top three wrestling companies in Japan, and he was the chairman of the Global Pro Wrestling Alliance, an affiliation of several promotions worldwide.

I don't know what else to say...I was just thinking about the death and needed to post this to get it off my chest. Thank you.

Wow, that is sad, I feel for that guy Saito as well. BTW, the term Orient, it's generally more acceptable to use Asia or in this case Japan. Some asians take offense to it, I guess because it's considered Eurocentric. I don't take offense I just think it sounds anachronistic.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. flowerforyou

Wow amazing. Too much impact at that moment can really knock the wind out of a wrestler. I feel for the family who is going through hard times without him.

Not to mention the guy who delivered the move that led to his death. Saito was said to have been openly weeping backstage after the news broke out, which is unusual for someone in his culture. He later said to the press, "It will be my cross to bear."

Yes, I heard about that. The fighter he mauled appeared in the ring in a luchadore mask like the ones Mexican wrestlers wear.

I thought, what a moron, to mock an opponent because he happens to be a pro wrestler.

Lashley is a 3-time national amateur wrestling champion and a one-time NAIA National champion. With that background, any fighter looking to take him lightly for being a pro wrestler is an idiot and worthy of getting his head kicked a couple times.
