Here's a thought

Why would a God that created us waste all those veins. If you look at our bodies the veins go all over the place kinda crazy. If God had made us he would have used the ol Straight line idea. I assume he would know the shortest distance to these things.

Rabbit, I have a feeling you were subjected to a religious experience , that beat you over the head with dead religion.
With no love of God showing thru.

Rabbit.. you said you once were a christian.
That's inmpossible.

Rabbit, when you truly become a chrsitian , you don't undo becoming a christian. Cause chrsitianity is about joining Jesus(by being born again), and not about joining a church or a religion.

Btw, Christianity was never meant to be a religion..man did that.
True christianity it is a personal lifestyle..... a personal walk with God.
Christianity is being born agaibn. How can you become Unborn?

Same with becoming a christian... you can't become unborn in the spirit , once you are truly born again.flowerforyou

.....To bad for you I was a great and involved Christian raised from infancy in a religious home and I am still surrounded by a religious family that is shocked by my conversion and the obvious light I give off now by living the real truth.
I can tell by the posting of some others, Abra for sure, that many have taken a similar path. We all had a love for that religion and for truth. Still have a hope for the way that it teaches tolerance, peace, love your brother as yourself, do not judge. I still think in terms that many people in here that claim to be Christian do not act Christ Like. So I am not as far from the religion I was raised in as you may think.
If you get to make the judgment on who was and was not a Christian I guess you have more power then I thought.

Ok Rabbit...there are MANY MANY MANY so called "christians" out there in the world, who have an abiding LOVE for the bible... and have a LOVE for christianity... and were even RAISED UP in a family of church going christians....but are not christians atall.

Rabbit... just because you were RAISED up in a christian environment , or even loved christianity at one time, does NOT make you a christian!!

The ONLY way you can become a christian ..is when you ask Jesus into your heart and MEAN it in yuor HEART!!!

In other words...becoming BORN AGAIN ..is what makes you a real christian.

Rabbit..now.....if YOU ACTUALLY DID, at one Time , ask Jesus into your heart , and MEANT it?

Well..then you ARE a christian already ...still....but perhaps just a backslidden one.

UNLESS of course , you were just doing lip service at one time with God .........but did not MEAN it in your HEART back then, at all !!

In other words, if were only saying a bunch of words, cause Mamma expected it of you..or the church told you that all you had to say , was a bunch of hocus pocus words..like a robot....but it did not have any meaning in your HEART at ALL...when you said those words back then... if you did already at one time, that is !!!

Gotta MEAN those words, when you ask Jesus in....gotta mean it in your HEART, not just in your head!

There is a BIG difference between having HEART knowledge , versus HEAD knowledge of Jesus.

Once again...a child of God who IS TRULY BORN into the Kingdom of God, CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT BECOME UNBORN!!
IMPOSSIBLE!!

Meaning...Rabbit....IF you DID mean those words in your HEART long ago?
Then You STILL are a chrsitian... but just a confused backslidden one.....that's all.
But once more...if you did NOT mean those words?
You are not a christian then....just because your family is....or , because you went to church back then.

Look at Franklin Graham, for instance....his father is the famous evangelist Billy Graham.

Now....Franklin was raised around the gospel message being preached all his life, but he rebelled against God for awhile in his life.

In other words, being around a christian family that loved God, all his life.....did NOT automatically make Frankin a christian .

Frankin Graham STILL Had to make that personal decison for Jesus Christ, HIMSELF..Amen?
Which he did..and is being used by God mightily today.flowerforyou

Btw, Rabbit.. you and everyone else here....are loved ...regardless... even if we don't always agree.flowerforyou

I was an atheist. I didn't wake up until I was 32. It won't happen for everyone. God knew your soul before you were born and he knew what your life would be. Ever hear of a "radical conversion"? It isn't a common occurrence but I am proof that it does happen. What I am trying to say is that I was rabbit, abra, and others, full of hatred for ANY faith, so all you can and should do is keep setting an example. Ignore the hate and live the love. flowerforyou

Thing is zapchaser Abra and I were you back in the day when we did have a conversion and went into the light. The difference is you will never hear Abra or I say that any Christian is "full of hate" as you have just said about us now. I do not name call, I only stick to simple truths.
I tell the truth about Christianity and it feels like persecution to you. I guess the question to ask is why you would have to go with name calling as opposed to just discussing the merits of the religion that is supposed to be so obvious to all.

Not at all Rabbit, it is YOUR truth, not mine, and yes many of your posts are condescending, belittling and hate filled in my opinion. That is why I choose to not respond to you aside from this post.I bear no personal animosity toward you. I am no better than you. I will be working in your neck of the woods all week and if you would like to get together for lunch on me any time just let me know. It's on me. Gotta be a buffet though. Gotta love feeding at the hog trough. laugh laugh laugh drinker

You are the one that was pointing out how lost Abra and I are and how YOU have the duty to set a "Good Example" for us. Since we "hate all religion".

You are going to call me condescending?

Man, you are incorrigible. Why do you find it necessary to take what I say and twist it? Did I not say I am no better than you? I said I was you and Abra. What I meant was that I shared your views on faith/religion. As far as setting an example, let me clarify....... Do not hate others for what they believe and in so doing I am showing that hate is non-productive. Spin that. I like Chinese buffets. laugh I respect your opinions. drinker

My only point in saying that way was to show you how it is for me. I just go around talking about my beliefs and for some reason people find that condescending. I also wish that everyone would find thier own personal happiness. However you want to worship is fine with me. If you find peace by going off in a corner somewhere and praying to Christ I am happy for you and support you.
When someone comes on a board like this that is open for discussion about religion. Then I am going to say my peace. I cannot be bullied into not saying the truth. I have to get the truth out there so that everyone has a chance to hear it.

So what'd you give up to become a Christian. Sin, misery and deptression, according to Joyce Meyer. You have the freedom not to be angry all the time, the freedom to not worry all the time. He who the Son has freed is free indeed.

Becoming a Christian does not mean that your sin nature has miraculously vanished.Life is a struggle until you are fertilizer but at least you are not alone in dealing with it.

Actually it is more like your sin nature miraculously appears. Things that Christians call a sin, working on the sabbath, lust, loving someone of the same sex, they are not sins to non-believers. You do not need to walk around with the fruit eaters sin over your head.

...In 1972, Graham agreed with Nixon that our nation's problems lie with the satanic Jews. Both accused Jews of dominating the media, one of the oldest anti-Jewish canards. Graham went on to blame Jews for putting out pornographic stuff. He told Nixon that the Jewish stranglehold has to be broken or the country will go down the drain. He admitted to Nixon that Jews do not really know his true feelings about them....

You think a cross is bad try lightning strike

Asclepius' powers were not appreciated by all, and his ability to revive the dead soon drew the ire of Zeus, who struck him down with a thunderbolt. According to some, Zeus was angered, specifically, by Asclepius' acceptance of money in exchange for resurrection.

So my god Asclepius is just making sure I will have an after life and then the God of all says that he must return back to him.

Just make sure you know your gods.

Find the light in the lightning

That was interesting. I am glad that he saw his mistake and not only apologized but worked to right his wrong. We can all learn from the misdeeds of others and hopefully correct our own misdeeds against our fellow man/woman. (insert clapping politically correct emoticon here) laugh

You must have just read the title. At first he said he didn't say that. Then he said he didn't remember it. Then just a 4 line written apology. Yikes.

Rabbit... you wrote and I quote:

"...... I was under that same sin guilt when I was a Christian. The day that I realized all this "sin" that was dumped on me only came from the Bible and the Church. I just naturally wasn't going to kill anyone, and I wasn't going to steal, the only sins that were left were things like lust, and I know realize that is a biological effect not a sin, nothing to feel shame over. Not keeping the sabbath holy, also only important if you believe in the myth of the God that created the world that needed to be saved by sacrificing himself to himself.
The day you walk away from that Bible worship is the day you will feel real peace. The day you can really look at truth and not have to make it fit some false idea....."

This is always the last stand for Christians. To say that anyone that walks away from Christianity was never really a "Christian". It's like some kind of purity test to make sure the religion was never tainted with the unholy. To bad for you I was a great and involved Christian raised from infancy in a religious home and I am still surrounded by a religious family that is shocked by my conversion and the obvious light I give off now by living the real truth.

It's not just what Adam did. See #3 above, Romans 3:23, All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God."

What's the result? The wages of sin is death.

Adam and his fall just gave us the propensity to sin. We were perfect beings before the fall, afterwards, not so perfect, at least I ain't. I need the Lord and desperately. I'm as imperfect a human being as there ever was.

If I could be perfect and sinless, which I'm not, I might not need the Lord. I think I still would, though, because it's his way and his rules. His game, his rules, you know?

At any rate, just my two cents, you can accept or reject as you wish. May God Bless you, though. It's my advice that you accept the gift of God, publicly profess your faith and your will to follow him, get baptized and get in the church, the word, in fellowship, discipleship, ministry and missions. You can live a great and God-fulfilled life in that fasion. It is great. Greatest thing you could possibly do. But, it's JMO, and perhaps the Lord's too, from the way I feel and read things.

I was under that same sin guilt when I was a Christian. The day that I realized all this "sin" that was dumped on me only came from the Bible and the Church. It wasn't just eating a piece of fruit. It was disobeying God's will and God's command that brought about Adam's fall. That matches sin's definition and the results are described above. I'll continue toward the remedy below......

It's still someone else's sin put on you. Something that Adam did does not make me guilty. It is a silly idea.
