Don't worry Zeus loves everyone (except hermes) He tells me it is not the end of the world. He told me to tell you all to be at peace. He said that when he made your God it was just a joke.

so if something happened to you and the plug was to be pulled. You would have no problem starving to Death..

If your whole problem is just with the starving part I can see where you are coming from. The only reason they have to do that is because religious zealots think it is immoral to just give someone like her a shot that ends her life peacefully. So that leaves the person that has expressed a wish to die with only one option. Stop eating and drinking. (In some states you do not even have that option) So yes the very best way is a shot that would let you go to sleep and die peacefully. Unfortunately the majority of Christians will not allow that.

So I will take anyway I out I could take. I am very prepared to starve myself to death at the end of my life. I just hope some idiot doesn't force a tube down my throat (in all his Christian kindness) and make me eat and live.

Edit
That was very informative angelinboots ty

Abra

I have to agree with you on this one. The scriptures point out you do not go to heaven but death is like sleep the next thing you will know is his comming, When you are risen. Equality throughout all time.
Now Terry Sharvo?not sure on name. That was pure and simple torture by everyone involved in murdering her. They will pay for thier actions. death by starvation is the worst death you can have.

Now to an elderly person in pain who wants to be let go. I have no problem. Saul took his own life.

And He was annointed as a prophet by Yahweh.

So the circumstances are a big consideration. But for us to argue that a death row inmate might feel pain from the drugs we give him to go to sleep then die and then take an innocent person and pull thier food suppy is outrageous. Our Court system is Upside down on this issue.. Blessings Abra..Miles

Terry Shevo told her husband to do exactly what he did. Also they can (and I am sure they did sedate her). She made it clear to him what she wanted. He had already moved on with his life. He could have just left it in the hands of her parents to do as they pleased with out regards for her wishes. He was a man of courage and honor and he could not turn his back on a promise he made to someone he loved. I hope I have an advocate as brave as he is when it is my time.

The Bible is False

The Bible is false? Certainly the Bible is a unremarkable book -- unquestionably the world's all-time bestseller with countless millions of copies in print. A single Bible distribution organization reported delivering over 627,000,000 Bibles worldwide in one year alone the Bible is a compilation of 66 books written by over 40 separate authors from a variety of backgrounds (from lowly peasants to noble kings) over a period of at least 1,600 years. These 66 books are divided in two principle parts, the "Old Testament" (39 books) and the "New Testament" (27 books). The Bible was completed in its entirety nearly 2,000 years ago and stands today as one of the worst-preserved literary works of all antiquity.

Is the Bible False? - "…the inspiration of man"

So, is the Bible false? If the Bible is indeed what it claims to be, the implications for us are ridicules. The Bible candidly claims to be "the violent diatribe of “God” and is profitable for nothing. Of course, the Bible is not the only book to claim divine inspiration or even a violent tempered “God”. It even goes so far as to challenge its readers to "Stone her to death" (Deuteronomy 22:21).

Is the Bible False Prophecy
Is the Bible False? Unquestionably, the single greatest evidence lending to the veracity of this claim. Consider this: if man were able to clearly and consistently foresee the future, would the billion-dollar Las Vegas gambling industry exist? We're willing to bet it wouldn't. This shows how gullible men can be, they will put their faith in anything even slot machines. . The Bible purports to contain more than a thousand crazy prophecies. The vast majority of these prophecies are written in one book to support itself, how funny is that. Consider, for example, Ezekiel's prophecies concerning this “God's” judgment against the ancient Phoenician capital of Tyre (Ezekiel, chapter 26). The prophecy states that Tyre would first be razed by Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar. Later, it would be utterly destroyed by a coalition of nations, flattened like the top of a rock, its ruins (and even its dust) scraped and thrown into the sea, becoming a place for fishermen to spread their nets. The surrounding nations would witness Tyre's fate and surrender without a fight. It's a rather funny prophecy. Not too amazingly, the conditions of Ezekiel's prophecy were fulfilled, even to the tiniest detail. Nebuchadnezzar sacked Tyre.

Prophecy is just like a magic trick. Bible prophecy is being fulfilled today before our eyes in the same way. Consider the nation of Israel. The Jews were "the least of all peoples" (Deuteronomy 7:7), without a homeland and without freedom, serving as slaves in Egypt. At the time, Egypt was the dominant world power. However, this “ God” made a man named Abraham sacrifice his son Isaac, to him. Thus showing again how evil and devious this ”God” really is. , This “God” supposedly rescued the Israelites from their bondage this “God” gave the Israelites a homeland of their own, made a covenant with them, and entrusted them with the Bible. Israel was a nation set apart for this “God” – this”God's” testimony to a world that turned its back on the One who created them. Sadly, Israel's history, like that of the world's, was one of constant rebellion against this “God”. Over and over, the Jewish people would rebel, suffer this “God's” wrath, humble themselves, regret their rebellion and turn back to this”God”, and receive this God's” blessing again - then start the process all over again… Finally, this “God” sent nations upon them (like He did with ancient Tyre) and drove the Jews from their homeland. In 70 AD, Roman legions decimated Israel, dispersed the Jews throughout the world, and banned them from ever reentering their homeland. A “God” that acted more like a spoiled child then a great and loving deity. The Jews were without a homeland for 1,900 years! Nevertheless, this“God” promised the Jews that though He would remove them from the land, they would remain an identifiable people and would return to their land again. (see, for example, Leviticus 26:13-16; Nehemiah 1:8-9; Deuteronomy 30:1-5). It is not too surprising then that the Jews have survived and remained an identifiable people. Other wise we wouldn’t have the book. The book is it’s own self fulfilling prophsecy.

Consider, for example, the biblical account of Israel's exodus from Egypt. Pharaoh, Egypt's monarch, chased the Israelites with an army of chariots because this “God” had killed all the first born in his nation, guilty and innocent a like, This “God miraculously parted the Red Sea allowing Israel to pass through over a land bridge. The Egyptians followed in close pursuit, but after the last Israelite made it across, this “God” released the parted water and drowned his Egyptian children. For some reason this “God” shows his love for all his children in strange ways. Archaeologists have discovered a number of things vindicating the Bible's account, that chariots existed at some time in history.

The Bible is False? - The Authors
Is the Bible False? Consider the integrity of the Bible's authors -- men .Take for example Noah, his story is impossible in every way. The water alone cannot be held by the earth. They would not be able to fit one tenth of the animals on board. Once they filled it up what would they do for food for all the animals. So on and so on. Obviously the book is nothing more then fairy tales.
Many of the Bible's writers died brutal and horrible deaths in defense of this book. In fact, all but one of the New Testament's authors were executed for proclaiming and defending this book (John was spared, but forced into exile by Roman Emperor Titus). Of course, martyrdom in itself is not unique -- many people throughout history have died willingly for stupid ideas. What makes this' martyrdom special is that these men were not in a position to know the truth of the written accounts. They died for a lie! How many more have to follow in that same path.

the Bible is False? - Judge For Yourself…
Is the Bible False? For those of you who believe that God inspired the Bible, how do we explain it? What compelling reason do we have to reject the Bible as God's divine revelation to man? You should lay aside your philosophical disposition, examine the evidence objectively, and weigh the facts for yourselves then you will see how false it is.

ONLY LET TRUTH BE YOUR GUIDE

With one exception.......mine is backed up historically......you my friend are just a silly wabbit. And to just go in a change the bible is false.....shows me that you have no concrete evidience to back up your nonsense.....where I have time and time again shown evidence.......

Just goes to show that no mater how many times you post something that is ridicules it doesn't make it true.

Unless a man's spiritual eyes are opened, the bible will appear to be a book of contradictions..and also, if taken literally, the true spirtual depth and meaning of God's Word ,just won't make sense.

Bits and pieces of the Word of God, should not be taken out of context , even when a Believer Reads God's Word......so therefore, how much more this should apply, with a NON-beleiver reading the Word!!

Sweet People here... listen....please listen closely now, to what I am about to share.
And I call you Sweeties.. ...simply because I love you all...and I understand where you are coming from.
I know you are just being sincere , when you say the bible doesn't make sense...and therefore don't believe!!!

But if you truly want to make sense of the bible...once and for all....And you REALLY REALLY want to Know the TRUTH???

You have to be BORN AGAIN FOLKS!!!!
Cause there is NO OTHER WAY ......you are EVER EVER EVER ...GOING to MAKE SENSE of the WORD of GOD!!!!!!

So that is why, I can understand those who don't believe..and Think God is some cruel taskmaster.
Heck, if I weren't born again, the bible wouldn'take sense to me either.

BUT, for one, won't argue .....

So....Ya want to Know the Truth of God's Word..and NOT just your own interpretation?

Then...Ask Jesus to come into your heart..and MEAN it..and THEN , the Word Will FINALLY begin to Make Sense.flowerforyou

Like I say. There is no way I can lie to myself. The God of the Bible killed all the first born of Egypt just to punish one man. How many mothers were destroyed for life by losing their child. How many fathers became bitter and broken from losing there first born.
Explain how that is just me having a closed heart to the true message of God. You are the ones that are blind if you do not have empathy for a whole generation of men and woman that lost their first born.

What did those eqyptians do while all of the first born Israelites were murdered by Pharaoh?

I imagin that they panic and weep and moan

THEY DID NOTHING! Did you even read the question? Pharaoh KILLED an entire generation of Jews. Murdered them. The people didn't complain, they agreed with his methods. The Bible warns us many times "Ye shall reap what ye sow". Jesus taught "you will be judged as you judge." The Eqyptians got the same punishment that they thought the Israelites deserved. Couldn't the Eqyptians have gone to Pharaoh and said "Let the Israelites go"? Yes, they could have. But they suffered the plagues of God and continued to enslave the Israelites. You only look at one side of the scale and complain of unfairness. That would be funny, if it wasn't so sad.

It was funny that I mis-read that. You got me with that onedrinker

Ok here is the problem. No the people can't just go up to Pharaoh and say cut it out. He is the Pharaoh not some elected official. He rules by force. So the children that were killed were from people that did not have any power in the situation and no blame. God should have just killed Pharaoh and been done with it.

Second. Are you trying to say that God makes decisions like a man. If you do bad and evil things then so will God. He doesn't sound like he is outside of the situation more like he is in competition with Pharaoh. IF he was a real God he would be above such things

A child is not held accountable...cause a child hasn't reached the age of accountability....to undersatand God's Word.

Those children are in heaven...including Pharoah's child, Rabbit.

Pharoah was given chance after chance after chance, to Let Moses and His People , Go.

Read the WHOLE Word..and ask God to give you HIS Understanding of God's Word,Rabbit..... and NOT just go by your own interpretation.
Which means, yuo must be Born again.....so Ask God to HELP you do this ,Rabbit...and God WILL.flowerforyou

Rabbit.....I know you are just being sincere about what you understand God's Word to be saying.......and that is why I can understand.

BUT again...there is MUCH MORE to the Word of God, than what appears on the surface.

The Word of God has to be RIGHTLY DIVIDED...and it takes spiritually opened eyes..to TRULY understand God's Word.
No other way.......

There is MUCH MORE to God's Word, than what APPEARS on the SURFACE of the WRITTEN Page.

If Pharo is not listening then kill Pharaoh. Not the innocent children of his people and servants. Even if you make yourself happy by saying all those corpses are not so bad because they went up to heaven (also nothing says that they were all children just first born) The real pain is in the people left behind. The subjects of the pharaoh that have done nothing. They all have the pain. I can only assume from all the tossed of answers I get to this that maybe Christians do not care that much for parenthood. Or people that grieve over their lost children. I feel so bad for all of them. I can't believe god did that.

Paris Hilton

Al Capone

Georg W Bush

...After hearing the victim's widow describe how she watched her husband die, a judge today ordered John E. du Pont, an heir to the du Pont family fortune, to stand trial on charges of first-degree murder....

...North Korea is a self-described Juche (self-reliance) state. Government is organized as a dictatorship with a pronounced cult of personality organized around Kim Il-sung (the founder of North Korea and the country's first and only president) and his son and heir, Kim Jong-il....

...Caligula’s political payments for support, generosity and extravagance had exhausted the state’s treasury. Ancient historians state that Caligula began falsely accusing, fining and even killing individuals for the purpose of seizing their estates....

Do you honestly want to call those people successful? Paris Hilton is the Butt of thousands of jokes, do you know if she if happy?

George Bush is the most unpopular President in all of history, and considered by many to be an idiot, do you know if he is happy?

Al Capone is so unsuccessful he feels he has to be a criminal and steal from people because he can't create his own wealth. That's not successful.

JB

Thank you

I think you make my point very well here The success that you are talking about is only personal happiness. It is not some measure that can be recognized and measured by the outside world.

So do I believe you can use your mind to make yourself happy. Yes I do. I do it every day.

The law has many lessons to teach and your spiritual blindness prevents you from seeing anything but the actual words.

Well, that's just your opinion. And one used since humanity began to justify all sorts of heinous acts committed under the supposed aegis of relgious authority. Words, maybe-- but deeds?

-Kerry O.

If the law is viewed as spiritual teaching, rather than as mere words, then the result can only be more compassion and mercy.

Don't you think that during the inquisition they viewed the law as a "spiritual teaching"?

Clearly they did not. Clearly, the Inquisition was performed by people who were ignoring the teachings of the law, even the letter of the law. They were ignoring the teachings of Jesus. They were going against everything they claimed to believe. That should be obvious. By the letter of the law, the Bible teaches that non-Believers should not be forcefully converted, they must be allowed to live in peace. Jesus and the apostles taught that Christians should live peacefully among non-Christians and allow their behavior to show the beauty of Chistianity. In what way to you believe that the spiritual nature of the law influenced the Inquisition? The spiritual nature of the law was summed up by Jesus into two commandments: 1) Love God and 2) Love your neighbor. Torture and forced conversions don't show either.

I think the most important word in your original statement was "viewed" I think you would have a hard time trying to convince people that the leaders of the inquisition viewed themselves as going against Gods law.

And that is where the danger comes in when mixing laws and religion, who's "view" do you use?

Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890)

His comment on his early years was: "My youth was gloomy and cold and sterile....

...His father and uncle sent him to Paris, where he became resentful at how art was treated as a commodity, and he manifested this to the customers. On 1 April 1876, it was agreed that his employment should be terminated....

....Vincent opted to live like those he preached to, sharing their hardships to the extent of sleeping on straw in a small hut at the back of the baker's house where he was billeted; the baker's wife used to hear Vincent sobbing all night in the little hut. His choice of squalid living conditions did not endear him to the appalled church authorities, who dismissed him for "undermining the dignity of the priesthood."...

I think you know where it goes from here. Quite possibly the greatest painter of all time. All he did was mope and be sad, think about bad things and still made beautiful flowers.

I think that maybe it is the steal forged by fire that is the strongest. Maybe it has to be bad and you have to think how ruff you have it in order to pull yourself up. Maybe always thinking about that negative things in your life will make the few nice times amazing. Look at how many people in the arts seem to have depression.

...North Korea is a self-described Juche (self-reliance) state.

Read the bible again, Abra... and ask God to open your eyes of understanding this time.
I say this lovingly...trust me on this.

But before you read the Bible again....first.... ask God to help you get rid of that anger towards God.

Cause I preceive something inside of you needs healing...and that is the real reason for this gross misconception of the Word of God on your part.... whch is actually nothing more than a front to cover a much deeper issue here ...your anger towards God.

Spoken lovingly and with care, Abra....cause I would love to see you healed.

You are too brilliant a man to mis -interpret God's word like that.
You have too much intelligence.

So I have to believe the real issue here is not with God..but with you.

Cause .Abra.. the bible is not that hard to figure out...as far as the reasons for the battles were concerned.

I mean.....God helped his people to win aganst the enemy, cause the enemy was coming against them anyway... so God showed his people how to have Victory over the enemy at times in the bible.

I mean..what would you rather they have done...allowed themselves to be slaughterd by the enemy, rather than accepting God's help?

Abra.....if you and your people were beng ambushed by the enemy,,wouldn't you want God to help save you, too?

Is this really that difficult for you to understand, Abra?

No.. I don't think it is...

Actually, like I said.... I perceive anger towards God....
a spirit of rebellon in you against God...cause you are angry with God about something in your own personal life..from childhood perhaps.......that has nothing to do with this so called "misinterpretation " of God's Word at all....cause the real issue here is....and I strongly sense this.....
you are very Angry with God.

That's the REAL crux of the matter here......

You guys are really becoming silly with the way you try to go about making yourself feel better by believing that we that do not believe are hurt somehow. I just read something that said that the promise of an "afterlife" is starting to die out because people here in the US do not have it so bad anymore. There is no reason to wait for a big reward because life is already rewarding enough.

I hate to speak for Abra again but we both have similar stories in that we grew up in religious families. Where teachers with in our church and studied the Bible closely. I have heard him say that he felt a kinship to Noah in the story not the people in the flood. I would have to say it is the same for me.

I will say on my behalf alone. The bible did teach me one thing. Not to lie to myself. There is NEVER a reason to lie to yourself. So if I look at the book and it says that we are ALL Gods Children then it says he favors some of his children in a war over his other children. That does not make sense. That is one little chip in the armor of the book. As you read and see that God kills all the first born, innocent and guilty alike (all Gods children) just to send a message to one Pharo. That is another chinc in the armor. It goes on and on like this and pretty soon the book offers nothing. It is a man made device.

The reason I do not need your God is because I live in heaven already. I do not need your streets of gold for my heart is never cold.
