How many species are extinct because of mankind? How many more will

Maybe "Plan B" would have been a better choice? Humans are the only
species that destroys what sustains life. And this makes us the most
intelligent? Why? How?

What did you mean when you wrote this?

I meant exactly what I said. I did not imply in any way non-belief in a
"higher power", as you stated in your post that followed. You quoted
biblical scripture that stated humans were "made/created" to rule over
everything. I just made an observation. From now on, I think I will do
my best to keep my opinions to myself since some people tend to apply
their own implications to every thing I say. grumble

So in your mind, the fact that humans don't care about the planet, God
must not exist? That's a interesting position..."

I said nothing of the sort. Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion,
but I think you made a wrong turn somewhere.

Ignore my soul? Why & how could I possibly do that? I am very confident
in what I believe & live my life accordingly. I do not need to believe
the way you or anyone else does. I can think for myself & make my own
choices. I do not require "salvation" from anything. Self-preservation
is the highest drive any animal has, including humans. I will not
sacrifice my life nor would I take another's in the name of any
"religion". Everyone has the right to think & believe the way they
choose. And that it the bottom line. My grandmother, who was a very wise
woman, once told me that if anyone/church claims to be the ONLY way,
they are wrong. There are many paths/truths for good reason. Cultural
differences for one. But basically all are trying to achieve the same
basic goals. What needs to happen is acceptance of others & for people
to stop the tunnel vision tactics of conversion. What is "right" for you
does not have to be "right" for everyone else & it is not anyone's "job"
to force others to believe what they do. I would never even hint that
anyone think or believe the way I do & I repect all people, without
being judgemental, condescending or feeling that they are wrong because
they don't have the same philosophy I do. I know what my "truth" is & I
do not need to read any book or "pray" to anything to know what I
believe.

Whenever I am sent a pic of "that", I just respond by saying~~~~ That's
very nice, now give it back, it's not yours".

Spider~~ I was just stating my opinion on what some people consider to
be "turning the other cheek". I happen to own several versions of the
Bible & have read them all on numerous occasions. I also do not consider
any version of it to be the "truth". Everyone has their own version of
the truth. Mine does not have to be the same as yours. And my
"religious" beliefs do not have to be the same as yours either. That
does not make either of us "right" or "wrong", it makes us an individual
who can think for themself.

So are we to understand that all of this Christian "forgiveness" is what
has led to so many people being killed/murdered because they refused to
follow the "righteous"? So many find the Bible to be a "holy" book. I
think it's pages are soaked in blood, the blood of the innocent who did
nothing other than follow their own heart & beliefs for which they were
put to death. But yet it states clearly "Thou shall not kill"!!!
Not..."Thou shall not kill {unless it is for religious reasons}.

If "Satan" does exist, he has the easiest job in the cosmos, as mankind
can be "evil" without any assistance or encouragement.

Wow, did this thread take a wrong turn or what? As I read all of the
posts, all I could do is shake my head in bewilderment. I learned a very
long time ago that just because someone writes a book about a subject,
that does not make it absolute fact nor does it make it the truth. It
never ceases to amaze me what people will believe just because somebody
said it was true in a book. I will not comment any further, nor will I
add my thoughts about anything said in this thread.

Nietzsche, a very wise man, was probably correct concerning some, if not
many people. I agree. Some people are just not suited for a partnership.
I am beginning to think I have become one of those people. I am happy
living "alone". I didn't think I would be, but I have adjusted well.

Possible, but not probable. It has happened, but very, very rarely.

I would say a bit more opinionated in person than I am here. I try not
to ruffle any feathers & many times keep my opinions to myself. Wait,
okay, maybe I am the same in person. blushing

My thoughts and opinions are just that. I do not feel the need to
express them or explain why I feel that way. flowerforyou

After extensive studies specialists determined that 4 wheel drives were
involved in more fatal accidents than any other vehicle. In an attempt
to find out the reason or reasons, they decided to install a "black box"
in all 4 wheel drives, similar to the ones places in airplanes. After 1
year, they assembled all of the boxes that had been in accidents &
listened to the final words of the drivers. In 49 states they found the
last words of the drivers were " HOLY S#!T." But in one state,(my
state/your state/any state), the final words of the drivers were "Hey!!
Ya'll, watch THIS!!"

I usually use the state I live in, but didn't want to offend
Missourians. bigsmile
