I am not a Christian, which I am sure is not a shocker to anyone. I do
have the highest respect for all people & their convictions, whether it
be religious or otherwise.

Silly hamster!! Does he have a wheel? Maybe he is bored? And they are
noctournal which doesn't help matters when you are trying to sleep. I
give my gerbil Froot-Loops. Keeps him bizzy for a few minutes anyway!

tulip~~~ I can relate to that. My dogs think they are cats & the cats
think they are royalty. I cannot even imagine what I would do without
them. I would be lost.

NO, don't shoot him!!! I have a gerbil that runs in his wheel too. That
has to be the reason for thinking about whacking him!!

The cat you see in my picture, Lucifer, was found by friends crying
under a lawn mower. He was so young he couldn't even eat cat food. He
has grown into a huge cat who thinks he is the king of the castle. He
was named well & he can be a terror. But he is the best & I lovingly
refer to him as his infernal highness!!

The dog in the picture, a parson russel terrier, has a very special
story behind her. My youngest daughter had AML, a rare form of leukemia.
Lilo is her Make-A-Wish puppy. She was brought to us by an animal
transporting company all the way from Maryland as she was too tiny to be
flown here. The Make-A-Wish foundation paid for everything, including
her first year of vet care. The owner/breeder even reduced the price
when she found out that she would be given to my daughter through
Make-A-Wish. I have way too many stories about her, she has been a
handful. But that's a terrier for ya & we love her!!

sweet~~~ you will know when the time is right for you. Consider adopting
a puppy who needs a loving home. They are so grateful, loving & very
special.

All of my cats are foundlings or have come from animal shelters or
animal control agencies. They do need loving, caring homes. It breaks my
heart to see so many in cages. I would take every single one of them if
I could.

Vladmir, one of my adoptees is more than thrilled to have a home. When I
went to the animal control to see him, the lady got him out for me to
hold. He wrapped his arms around my neck & started nuzzling me, then he
proceeded to bite me, gently, on the neck. Hence the reason for his
name. While he & I were playing in the floor, I noticed a manx mix &
asked about him as well. Well, long story short, they both came home
with me the following day. I had to fill out all the papers & be
approved for adoption & they were neutered & micro-chipped. At the same
time I drove over 100 miles to adopt a beautiful russian blue mix who is
still very shy. I think he was abused. He would have never been placed
because of his "disablility". I love them very much & was thrilled to
add them to my family.

Vladmir, Typhon & Naberius love being "brothers" & have settled in to a
life of being spoiled rotten.

Thank you very much. I am glad you are here also. I appreciate your
wisdom & knowledge. I think I will enjoy this forum much more now that I
have made some personal decisions. Real life stress is enough to handle,
no cyber-stress needs to be included in that formula.

Maybe a fun thread? Share a story about your pet or pets & maybe include
what it means to you having them in your life. I know how much mine mean
to me. They are my family & I love each & every one of them very much.

It is said "love conquers all". I would prefer to have a person in my
life that thinks for themself & if that includes them walking a
different path than mine, that would be fantastic, as long as a mutual
respect for each others philosophies existed.

I agree. I think more can be learned & shared if we are open-minded &
non-judgemental. As I have said before, I have many friends who do not
walk the same path as I do, yet we can have deep meaningful
conversations & everyone learns more about each other. I think that is
the way we come to see the whole picture. It does not happen when there
is name calling & some of the other issues that happen all too often in
this forum. Forcing or insisting that people see things a certain way
simply because a person thinks they are right does not work. It only
alienates those being spoken to.

I posted the kill-vs-murder thing because I had checked in my versions
of the Bible & found the difference. It was posted that it was thought
that only the KJV said kill. So I felt the need to check & find out.

Last night I did some thinking & a lot meditating. I came to the
conclusion that there are some in here who will always go out of their
way to cause issues & I will, from now on, no longer feed into their
"games". I will not allow anything said by them, toward me, to bother me
as I will always consider the source. It reminds me of a spoiled child
demanding attention, once that attention is not given, they cease to act
out. I prefer to have discussions that increase knowledge &
understanding of others.
