I'm so sorry I haven't been coming on in awhile, and especially in not replying to your email britty frown . I've been a bit busy and with dial up its hard to get on sometimes and reply to JSH. But I'm back and thought I'd ask advice about where I should go with someone I've been talking to basically from Christmas in 07. We've talked online almost every night, on the phone once, and send each other a couple of postcards and vday cards blushing flowerforyou . It seemed to be moving on quite nicely for a long while there, but the past month I've felt like its not right somehow and if anything all we'll have is a friendship. I was going to bring this up, but his cat he's had for 20 years died the other day. So right now I'm keeping silent. Plus I just feel bad for saying we're probably only going to have a friendship after all we've talked. But if this is how I have been feeling...is this what I should do, or should I just continue on how we have been and see if its just a mood? I've been praying to God for some guidance and I was led here. I hope for some insight and your thoughts...even if you think I'm nuts  flowerforyou

God Blessings to allflowerforyou  and again sorry for not being all in awhile. Seems you've all been busy. I'll have to catch up on the conversation.

With God's Love
Tiff

I agree with Morning Star just ask....usually your intuition is right on......and it's better then playing the guess game...Good luck sweet tiff.....And know that it's in God's hands, so if meant to be it will.......

Tiffa, I hope you guys can remain friends if you are able
to do so. These things are not easy, but best to be open
with one another.

all the best,

Debs, oooops, sometimes humor can go awry. Not to worry,
I am sure it will soon all be forgotten other than the giggles.

Have a wonderful day both.

I saw an interesting banner on a church nearby. It said, "God is more interested in fruits of the spirit than religious nuts." I was just wondering who writes these signs.

Good morning Rainbow,
I imagine it is usually one or two people in the church.
Nice to see they have a sense of humor, and it obviously
gets attention.

I bet you are right, Britty. Before that the sign read, "Don't be so openminded that your brain falls out."flowerforyou

Contentment: More than Words

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, 'I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee'.

It is easy to be the type of person who can easily fall into the "eye want" trap. It does not necessarily lead to contentment however.

In Philippians part of verse 11 of chapter 4 states, "For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."

Philippians chapter 4 -- " Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

God blesses us in many ways. He meets our needs. He showers us with the blessing of His sunshine, He rains His dew on us.

"I will never leave you, nor forsake you".

Great Is Thy Faithfullness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father , There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not Thy compassions they fail not ; As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness Great is Thy faithfullness Morning by morning new mercies I see ; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided ; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Summer and winter and spring time and harst, Sun moon and stars in their courses above Join with all nature in manifold withness To Thy greatfulness mercy and love.

Great is Thy faithfulness Great is Thy faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see ; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided ; Great is Thy faithfulness , Lord unto me.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide ; Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.

Great is thy faitfulness great is thy faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed thy hand hath provided ; Great is thy faitfulness , Lord unto me Amen.

Here is a good place to start with covetousness ans contentment.

1Timothy 6:6.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Exodus 18:15 -19.
And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:
When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God and his laws.
And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is to heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone/
Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee council, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:

So, then with contentment in mind for important matters of the heart where troubles usually lay for the distractions of that which requires more attention when prosperity brings material substance into the hand and covetousness can be lent to its loosing, we are reminded not to care too much for the things of this world that perish with the using, but with circumspect contentment we remain grateful for such as we have and can share.

Matthew 11:25-30.
At that time, Jesus answered and said, "I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son,and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light
"

Now, Isaiah speaks of this departure from earthly distractions as being the work of an angel named Lucifer who was said to be the guiding light of the Assyrian in his time; a culture with great wealth and abundance and a huge distraction to the people that seek constantly for freedom from the very things they cause to be added to thier own charge by their choices.

Often, I must amend my own pursuits when material wealth and prosperity create their own distractions.
Isaiah 14:24-27.
The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out and who shall turn it back?

So, I see great contentment in the offering of God's Love to all that come to him for comfort and rest from the toils of this life and its distractions; that covetousness and contentment are as opposed to one another as a choice being made to hold to the one and be loosed of the other.

Matthew 6:19-21. Jesus speaking...

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where neither moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through to steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

I enjoy that hymn Debs, one of my favorites for a wedding song.

I like the Bronte sisters not only for their classical literature but also their poems.

No coward soul is mine Emily Bronte

No coward soul is mine,
No trembler in the worlds storm-troubled sphere:
I see Heavens glories shine,
And faith shines equal, arming me from fear.

O God within my breast.
Almighty, ever-present Deity!
Life -- that in me has rest,
As I -- Undying Life -- have power in Thee!

Vain are the thousand creeds
That move mens hearts: unutterably vain;
Worthless as withered weeds,
Or idlest froth amid the boundless main,

To waken doubt in one
Holding so fast by Thine infinity;
So surely anchored on
The steadfast Rock of immortality.

With wide-embracing love
Thy Spirit animates eternal years,
Pervades and broods above,
Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates, and rears.

Though earth and man were gone,
And suns and universes ceased to be,
And Thou wert left alone,
Every existence would exist in Thee.

There is not room for Death,
Nor atom that his might could render void:
Thou -- Thou art Being and Breath,
And what Thou art may never be destroyed.

Emily Bronte
(I believe this one may have been the last one she wrote)
