Love to all...

Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough." The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom."

They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?"

"Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?"

"I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is - the next trip back will be for my funeral," she said.

"When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I wish you enough.' May I ask what that means?"

She began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone."

She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more. "When we said, 'I wish you enough', we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them."

Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

She then began to cry and walked away.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

Send this to the people you will never forget and remember to send it back to the person who sent it to you. If you don't send it to anyone it may mean that you are in such a hurry that you have forgotten your friends.

TAKE TIME TO LIVE.....

To all my friends and loved ones,

I WISH YOU ENOUGH!

The Fence

There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

Thank you wouldee for your response to my question.
"This represents confronting ill will and abating its influence that the heart may turn itself to the good."
Have you thought of hate in terms of 'turning away from..'?
 flowerforyou

turning away from.....God?
good question. Thought provoking, yes.
Turning away from good or God would suggest knowing it in advance and willfully embracing it as a lapse of sound judgement, I would imagine.

That is a very deep and sorrowful thought, indeed.
I can't recall where such a choice has been noted in scripture as a willful defiance of righteous contemplation, but rather as pronounced as a bankrupt void of virtue in those that truly lack treasure in their heart for their own true good, and that good unknown to the person that harbors such ill will.
Truly, we can be our brother's keeper to some degree by our example. Not for our neighbor's good on their terms, but out of the generosity of our own hearts to their best interests without abridging our own in the process.

I shall contemplate this some more.

I almost missed this one.

I was thinking in terms of God turning away (hate) from that which is unholy.

"Jacob have I loved, yet Esau have I hated"

As we also can turn away from that which would lead us away from our walk with the Lord.

Good morning all flowerforyou
Yes, dear Britty. hate does wound itself and may be abandoned at all. It does appear that hate will receive no answer in good will and love. It must perish to be overcome, and be overcome with the perished sway of its' sting, lest it be harbored and enshrined and bear its' weighty despair.

 May healing flow and health be praised in love:heart:

CONSUMING FIRE......words by Mac Powell of Third Day

Set this place on fire
Send Your spirit, Savior
Rescue from the mire
Show your servant favor

Yesterday was the day that I was alone
Now I'm in the presence of Almighty God

And yes, our God, He is a consuming fire
And the flames burn down deep in my soul
Yes, our God, He is a consuming fire
He reaches inside and He melts down this cold heart of stone

Set this place on fire
Send Your Spirit, Savior
Rescue from the mire
Show Your servant favor

Yesterday was the day that I was alone
Now I'm in the presence of Almighty God

Did you realize that inside of you there is a flame?
Did you ever try to let it burn, let it burn, let it burn

LOVE SONG......words by Mac Powell of Third Day

I've heard it said that a man would swim the ocean
Just to be with the one he loves
How many times has he broken the promise?
It can never be done
I've never swam the deepest ocean
But I walked upon the raging sea

I know that you don't understand the fullness of My love
How I died upon the cross for your sins
And I know that you don't realize how much I have given you
But I promise, I would do it all again

Just to be with you, I've done everything
There's no price I did not pay
Just to be with you, I gave everything
Yes, I gave my life away

2 Corinthians 9: 6-8

The one who sows sparingly
From that he shall reap
But he who sows generously
Will be blessed with all he needs
Let each one give as he has chosen
With a heart of gratitude
Not with grumbling or reluctance
But with a cheerful attitude
And God is able to make all grace
Abound toward you
So you will be fully equipped
And be blessed in all you do

I see His Blood upon the Rose
By Joseph Mary Plunkett (1887–1916)

I SEE his blood upon the rose
And in the stars the glory of his eyes,
His body gleams amid eternal snows,
His tears fall from the skies.

I see his face in every flower;
The thunder and the singing of the birds
Are but his voice—and carven by his power
Rocks are his written words.

All pathways by his feet are worn,
His strong heart stirs the ever-beating sea,
His crown of thorns is twined with every thorn,
His cross is every tree.

SOLOMON'S SONG 8 : 5-7.

"Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree : there thy mother brought thee forth : there she brought thee forth that bare thee.

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm :
for love is strong as death ; jealousy is cruel as the grave :
the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it : if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would be utterly contemned. (disrespected)"

Springtime is little children frolicking in the flowery meadow.
