Alright, I've been on this site for a little while now and I've noticed something that's irking me. I might be crazy but it seems to me as though the same person or persons are writing these profiles and chatting online. Not necessarily on the forums but when I try to chat with the girls that i'm interested in they all seem to type the same way, using the same phrases and words. They don't seem to have a good grasp of the english language either. Not just that but I've tried chatting with girls whose profile states that they live in a nearby town when in fact they live in other countries. Is this site for real?? Are these people fakes and frauds?? Anybody else noticed this???

That is pretty much the reason that us old farts stay strictly with the forums. It is all a crap shoot but, on the forums these people are actually here pretty consistently and show thier individual personality.

Just picking through profiles is gonna be an exercize in frustration.

This site does get invaded by spammers. Just report suspicious people to the moderators.

On another dating website, I found that some women said they were residing in the UK or USA, but when contacted they lived elsewhere, because a family member was sick, a new job, or another reason. Not long before they were asking for the loan of money for some reason, all scammers, I very much doubt many of them were women! This was on a pay site as well. I must add some were genuine, but I know what you mean and agree there are quite a few fakes about.

I'd be reporting a lot of profiles then:( Just about half the profiles sound fishy:(

Yes sir!!! I've had that happen to me countless times as well. That's when I snap, insult them for their deceit, and then delete them from my contacts.

This site is for real! I have run into one gentleman who used the same phrases and words and could not come up with any other words to describe himself. I told him I thought he was a fake. I never heard from him again. If you stay in the forums you will find the real ones.

Some people have even met on here and gotten married!

Actually anytime you feel they are scammers we ask that you use the report system that is in place. Those reports go straight to the Admin not the moderators.

The system is there to use unless members take the time to actually use it then the problems will continue to exist...

This site does go all over the world so you will find people who's English skills are not the greatest. LOL my spelling and grammer can be nortoriously bad but I am real and found many real people.

But yes the stories do sometimes sound very much alike. Most of our lives are very much alike. We all work (maybe retired),or go to school, have chores, many of us have responsibility for family members, hobbies, and worry about money, crime, our health, finding someone who will accept us. Borders have very little to do with that. Travel is expensive for ordinary people and time is limited.

If you want to avoid fake people then insist that they stay on site a while. Not everyone is comfortable with "public speaking" in forums but legit people will write emails back an forth and get to know you and you them a bit at a time. They will reference things that make sense to the frame of life they have given you. A comment about work, hobbies, what is going on in their community. If they are always talking romance, or professing how you are their dream come true, or never complain about any specifics in their life they are just working from a script.

Oh and if they have none, one, or two really great photos that never make them look like they are ageing changeing with the seasons or styles, or have family, friends, or coworkers they are either a scammer or player. Real people will want to send snap shots and show that their story is not a scam.

Those sisters can be so harsh.

OP, my experience here on the forums has been that most people are real. In fact, all of us, except maybe for me.

Ask any forum user about me, and chances are that they will reply, "Who? Wux? That guy is unreal."
