So again, when and if someone breaks into your home. Are you gonna just ask them to leave? Are you gonna just show them the door and politely plead for them to leave? No in this instance you'll either take matters into your own hands or call the police. Well Jesus is the police my friend. He is the judge that will judge us.

Cowboy...so now you are claiming that Jesus is the police and therefore had the right to take the laws in his own hand ...so now Jesus is Charles Bronson in Death Wish

impersonating the police or authority figures back in them biblical days can get you crucified ....

Actually, no, he was not disrespecting His Father's house by casting them out. He was honoring it.

"mylifetoday" ....when the bible say honor thy Father and mother...they perhaps were not referring to having a conniption fit and doing damages to their home in the name of Jesus

No one had a conniption fit. Those tables and money changers should not have been in the church. They were trespassing. So you're gonna tell me that if someone trespasses into your house, you're just going to politely ask them to leave? You're gonna politely direct them to the door? Even if they refuse to leave, you're gonna plead with them in a gentle way? Or are you gonna forcefully make them leave? Are you gonna throw a conniption fit of these people in your house?

Cowboy...don't Christians ever call the police...you guys seem to be looking for a fight

No it's the non-Christians that seem to be looking for a fight. Christians tell what they feel is the truth, other beliefs tell as what they believe. Christians go on their merry little way after the discussion. It is the people of other beliefs that get all offensive and defensive like the two were/are about to fight.

Cowboy...perhaps you have short term memory loss because your post right above your last post you were suggesting forcfully removing people from your home instead of calling the police ...wouldn't that indicate that you as a Christian were looking for a fight

No would not mean that. Never said anything about "fighting", never said anything about hitting anyone. Telling someone to leave and if they do not leave throwing their tables out the door is not "fighting". Never said I would bring any harm to anyone. You assume an awful lot.

Hmmm, ok I disagree with that. I would expect my son to defend his home from all who would dare to violate it. Call the police after he secures it (assuming he can).

"mylifetoday"...so you expect your son to go into your house and fight people that may have guns instead of calling the police...

ok let me guess...you took out an a hefty insurrance policy on him that covers suicide and stupidity

I was thinking more along the lines that he was at home when they try to break in.

Fight or flight? Judgment call that I trust he would make the best one.

If they were already in there and he noticed it before he went inside, yeah, do what you suggest.

But that is not the case in the story. Jesus was inside when He saw them. No one was armed. That would be sacrilegious. That is not an issue then...

Why would anyone run away and call the police on a person that is trespassing but clearly unarmed rather than confronting them?

Jesus was not having a conniption. A conniption is when you fly off the handle because you aren't getting what you want.

"mylifetoday"...wouldn't being in a church turning over pews be considered as being flying off the handle ..I mean do that happen in church that often that people just ignore it ....

I bet some priests have probably uploaded some videos of that happening on youtube

If someone comes into your home and starts to set up business within your home without asking you and your son gets upset and destroys THEIR set up and throws them out, is your son disrespecting your house or honoring it?

"mylifetoday"....I supposed your community do not have any police or cellphones to call "911" .....is taking the law in your own hands by resorting to violence the moral you took from the story of Jesus and the money changers

Well for one it wasn't "illegal" for what those money changers were doing. Wasn't against man's law. So the legal force would have no grounds to do anything, so your statement is mute.

Cowboy...why you keep jumping back and forth through time like Dr. who ....try to keep your questions to a specific time period

either in the time today
or the time of the money changers

Time period is mute, doesn't matter what time period it is. It was you whom compared the time of Jesus with the money changers to the law system we have these days. And doesn't matter anyhow. Jesus is the law, he is the judge.

Cowboy...you asked me in another post a question about an elephant pertaining to this same subject of debate ....do you not see that your questions are becoming somewhat.....er.....delusional?

You don't understand the situation when you keep insisting he damaged His Father's House and flipped pews.

Neither is the case. He kicked out the unwanted vendors and the tools of their trade. No reason to flip a pew... Why would He disrespect and dishonor His Father in the process of trying to demonstrate what is the proper way to Honor His Father's House?

perhaps during the Holy Crusade they didn't realize that they were fighting

oh..so if your son walked into a home invasion and didn't see any weapons because they were probably concealed...then it's ok for him to fight the intruders

I BELIEVE THE CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE
LET THEM WALK INTO A HOME AND GET BLOWN AWAY
DON'T LET THEM CALL THE POLICE FOR ANY HELP

GET THEM A BULLETPROOF VEST TO MAKE IT EASIER
LET THE CHILDREN LAUGH AND REMIND YOU HOW STUPID THEY USE TO BE

Geeze!!!

You keep trying to put words in my mouth.

Nope, I was talking about Jesus only in that situation there was NO doubt about it. No one would be armed.

That doesn't apply to my son.

I said earlier that if he is at home when they break in, it is a fight or flight situation and I trust he would pick the right one. If he is outside and notices them I would expect him to call the police.

Do you read what I write??? spock

If he stumbles into a home invasion as you are now implying, he probably won't have a choice because he is already face-to-face. Whether or not they have a weapon then is almost irrelevant.

Don't forget, they wouldn't know what he has stashed somewhere in the house as well. They would be wondering the same thing he is. Is he armed or can he be quickly? After all, it's his home not theirs. He knows everything about it. They know what they have seen in the short time they have been there.

Why do you keep insisting on killing off my son? whoa

so can we just stick to the time of the money changers? ...
