There are MANY reasons why a woman might think that abortion is the best thing to do..it should be left up to the person depending on the circumstances..it is not fair to the mother OR to the child to force her to go through with the pregnancy..in cases like mine where my child would be disabled..I've already lived this life..I know exactly what my child would have to go through if I had one and I would not want an innocent baby to live like I do..I am 29yrs old and I've had 30 surgeries..the first 2 immediately at birth..it is WRONG to force a child to live a life of pain and hospital rooms and etc..THAT is not a life..it is an existance..a miserable one..My parents had no clue that I'd be born this way..I on the other hand am fully aware that there is a 50/50 chance that the child would be born like me..that would be cruel.
Bottom Line:Do what is right for YOU!

i am so sorry what you have been through...

Lady Of Magic...but...are you really saying, flowerforyou

that you wish that you never were born ?

There are quite a few days that I think that, yes,I have some "ok days" but they are few and far in between..I have spent more of my life in hospital beds being poked and proded and stuck like a pin cushion than I have in my own bed..I've almost died twice..I have a wonderful mother and a great brother and a few pretty good friends..if it weren't for them..no I wouldn't want to be here at all..they are the reason I continue to struggle to try and stay here.

Lady I always enjoy reading seeing you here. With the pain & inconvieneces you live with on a daily basis you could be very bitter but your posts are well thought out & never insulting or prejudiced. You are a valued part of our little online community.

I look at it this way, I would rather decide what I do from this day forward...not a dozen old guys that will never understand what I've been through from a personal perspective...as I feel everyone should feel the same...well unless you like old guys that haven't walked a day in your shoes telling you how to live.

Now this is the topic of the day, who is pro life, and who isn't and why.

i'm only pro life when it comes to abortions but when it comes to the death penalty,i say kill'em!

You and everyone else that thinks abortion is terrible. Though in all honesty incest and rape cases account for less than 10% of abortions...either way I don't want my tax dollars paying for a kid that would have been better off not born in the first place...call me callous but that is the way I feel. Millions of dollars of taxes go through to pay for Foodstamp programs (Link here in Illinois, but could have a different name where you live) on top of that I work at 7-11 and guess what? That's right, about 86% of Foodstamp purchases in the store I'm at are made by single mothers between 21-29 with five kids...irresponsible, yes. Should I have to take care of them as well? Me thinks not.

I find it difficult to believe that they have 5 kids at such a young age. Almost 9 out of 10 people having 5 kids each?noway
