NEW School prayer :
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong..

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this,
please pass this on.
Jesus said,
"If you are ashamed of me,
I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

Not ashamed. Pass this on.

Maybe because the founding fathers were primarily Deists?

"As I understand the Christian religion, it was, and is, a revelation. But how has it happened that millions of fables, tales, legends, have been blended with both Jewish and Christian revelation that have made them the most bloody religion that ever existed?"

John Adams

The Second Presidenty of the United States
-letter to F.A. Van der Kamp, Dec. 27, 1816

Well cant you find something on the internet? I mean you dont know. Its conjecture. Its also going against what someone would find to be plausible because if a woman continually allowed herself to get pregnant, she would end up having the children because who would pay for it or provide the service?

I've never tried, though I'm sure if you and were to do some research we could both come up with numbers supporting our theories. Nice thing, there, about statistics, they can be manipulated to say anything you want.

But, I'm not here to talk about statistics, I'm here to talk about the human aspect, which so many tend to forget. The people making this decision, both for and against, are people, with feelings, brains, lives, judgment. Before we get bogged down in statistics and rhetoric, let's think about the women and what they are going through to even consider such a drastic and irreversible remedy? What can we as people do so that this choice never has to be made and all this silly argument is a thing of the past? Cause right or wrong, abortion is not the cause but the effect.
[/quote

Well said and I agree that documented evidence to support that "argument" in particular is impossible. Im sure in the history of the planet there has been a woman who allowed herself to become pregnant over and over again but more than likley, she had the children.

I agree with your statment and this is why I am pro-choice.

Well, that's not exactly what I said or meant, but as I said, I'm not here to argue. I do think that using abortion as a form of birth control is much higher than you think, though. You are lucky if you've never come across in it in your experience but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist or that it only existed in one woman throughout the course of history.

I did not see this because it was inside that quote box. I have never experienced that. The only time I could imagine it happening would be if a woman was under the influence of drugs and not able to actively participate in her reproductive health. Aside from that, I have to tell you it smacks of a "pro-life" invented argument. If it happened once, it is certainly not the normal occurrence unless you can substantiate this phenomena.

If a woman finds herself pregnant and can not pay for her abortion, chances are she will be forced to carry unless she can get assistance from PP sadly.

Peace, sister! I'm not here to argue, therefore don't feel the need to substantiate any argument, as I'm not trying to create or continue one! It seems you have a big chip on your shoulder, seeing hostility where there is none and becoming defensive when there's no need. I really mean you no harm.

If we as women do not start supporting each other, who will? Just think of all the good we could do if we could just stop being so competitive, defensive and judgmental?

I think you need a hug and I'm happy to give you one, verbal anyway.

Peace out flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

This used to happen to me, too. It still does sometimes. Your opinion was voiced. That is all that matters.

Absolutely not! You quoted me and I thought you were asking for a response. That is my opinion of your position. Do with it what you will. Otherwise why bother to quote? Let it go then. Peace. happy

wow.. i have deactivated my account EVERY night before i go to bed just to that i have to read all the way through this thread before i can post in it...

and EVERY morning i wake up and want to cry when i read what has been said by some people that i concider my closest friends.

this is not a discussion that should be entered into lightly, with complete strangers, or even with people whom you would still like to be able to talk to EVER again.

brokenheart   brokenheart brokenheart

just a couple quick things that i wanna toss out there before i go away again..

1 ive been raped by 3 seperate people
i reported only ONE of those. as we seem to be taking a small look at the big picture and blowing it out of proportion.. lets just assume that im the "norm"
so all of your statistics.. lets just go ahead and multiply them by 3...

and the fact that soemone aucutualy put the term

'rape'

in the connotation that it was imagined or thatthe rapes were not real factors to be concidered hurt more than any of you will ever know...

someone said that someeone was basing their replies on personal emotion rather than fact..
this is true for EVERY person in this thread..

this is a topic that is based out of emotion..
if you honestly think that you are basing your replies out of "facts and statistics" then you are dilousinal.

best wishes to you all.. i will try my best to stay out of this thread.. as it honestly makes me cry every day..
