Topic: Throw down - part 2 | |

If Christianity is a way of life, then name me one single thing that only a Christian does, that defines the way they live? Name a single action, thought, or feeling that you must be Christian to pursue? Name a single act that requires you to be Christian . . . . lol BTW this is soo much more fun then the Physics forums I troll. They openly profess that Jesus is lord. No Christian can deny this. To Eljay The reason your wrong is that anyone can openly profess to be anything . . thus this is not solely the domain of christians, unless of course the only criteria for being a christian is to profess it. Which is exactly the response I was after . . . ________ To Feral This thread is about the contradictions of the Bible, I would have to say it has broadened into the contradictions of Christianity, but no where in a debate does it say that you cannot question the other side, in essence such a restriction would prohibit any real debate. So as a potential debater, you have to set aside your feelings or else you cannot enter into said debate without setting yourself up to be hurt. So it is wholly your problem that you have allowed your feelings to be hurt by people following the basic tenets of any discussion no less debate. Not to mention I have found the greatest moments of my life to come when I allowed my beliefs to be questioned, to blindly follow is to shut yourself off. If you feel strongly in your beliefs then no amount of questioning could damage your faith. The conclusions you come to should strengthen your faith . . . Am I wrong? You asked me to name one thing a christian does. I answered your question. Then you totally take my response out of it's intended context and tell me I'm wrong? Did you read your own post? |

I felt this was a great comment and very thoughtful. Worthy of reposting. Not to mention I have found the greatest moments of my life to come when I allowed my beliefs to be questioned, to blindly follow is to shut yourself off. If you feel strongly in your beliefs then no amount of questioning could damage your faith. The conclusions you come to should strengthen your faith . . . Am I wrong? |

Enough with the insults already. If you aren’t, why delete it to simply attempt to confuse the issue and take my reply out of context. Repost it then. Because the point of asking you the same question over and over - that you continue to claim to have respoded to - without my being able to find it, was not worth asking for the fourth time. |

You guys seem to be talking apples and oranges. There is no element of the Christian lifestyle that can't be pursued by others. That's true of any lifestyle. |

Just a few words of advice: There are other things to do in the summer time than continually argue the same points over and over and over again on this forum.
Have a little fun smoke a blunt in the sun Meet a girl who acts like a boy for lunch. Have a rally in the town square Protest for green beans and cleaner air Burn your bra outside the mall Tell the world how cool Al Gore is and how Bush screwed him out of the presidency. Tell everyone both great and small how Obama is the cure for it all. and then check yourself in to the local clinic for mental rehab and treatment for a cynic. DONT BE A red diaper doper baby. USA ROCKS...COMMIES SUCK AND Jesus loves you but everyone else thinks your an A-hole. Saw that on a bumper sticker ya know??? |

Disappoint me perhaps - as I honestly thought you might be capable of answering the question I asked. However - I abandoned all hope after asking it three times with no direct response. Rather than my asking the question again - perhaps you could tell me what you think the question I asked that you claimed to have responded to - and clear up my confusion. |

I have brought forth several contradictory issues found within the pages of the bible. A few of us have done this. All we ask is that you debate these discrepancies with us. If you can not do that, walk away. If you can, bring it on. I already posted for Belushi's sake the question that you had asked. I had to do this because you had deleted it. Explain why you deleted the original question except that you had no response so you were attempting to “hide” what you had asked me. |

Just as a caveat: The only motive to 'defend' the bible as such, for some people, is their conviction in the concept of 'bible inerrancy'!!! Hence, an overwhelming proportion of christians, starting with Catholics, and right on through Orthodox, Anglicans and several other 'non-fundamentalist' protestant chapters, do not support 'bible inerrancy' (no errors in the word for word meaning of the bible). Their faith in god, Jesus, and THE BIBLE, isn't DEPENDENT upon a most counterproductive 'concept/dogma' of 'ALL OR NOTHING' which constitutes 'bible inerrancy'. In the overwhelming majority of the christian world, such debates simply do not exist! Only in good 'ole 'evangelical' US of A!!! Doesn't it make one wonder about the point of the exercise?!!?! |

Doesn't it make one wonder about the point of the exercise?!!?! you are corrupting our youth with this lack of exercise point of topic!! Next you'll be trying to tell them that breathing or swallowing is bad for you to!! such smugness on your part - i now return to my usual abode underneath the bridge1 the troll has spoken!! |

. Krimsa, valid point, were I speaking to you. Wouldnee, that "churchdom" is yet another problem facing this particular faith. "Also - Christianity is not about people accepting people." Eljay Hey, we agree on something. It’s a miracle! "Also - Christianity is not about people accepting people, It is about people accepting Jesus." - is what Eljay actually said. |

what be sin but what make unhappiness, and what happiness can be felt with first unhappiness, so indeed each breathing in deep of it, be no different than breath, as the breath in and out be poison and life........
