Even though its already been said, you're doing fine bubba.drinker

Kudos on giving her credit where credit is due, and being able to
seperate her good qualities from her selfish ones.

If she tries to yell or berate you for your behavior, personally I'd
tell her, "You lost the right to yell at me when you gave up on us. You
are a great mother, but between us, that is as far as it goes. Now what
time blabbity bloo kids blibbidy dee?"

Perhaps it could be said with more elegance and tact, but the bottom
line is that it needs to be said.indifferent

However, free trade has also brought in foreign companies who employ
American workers. Basic economic theory says that the more money there
is in circulation, the better EVERYONE is economically.

The real problem is that Americans aren't considered the "smart choice"
from a business perspective. While its true that many companies will
favor countries like the phillipines for their work, its because they
have the same education as us with a better work ethic. It's not that
they are cheaper, its that they have better value. You want to keep jobs
in America, either start a business that only employs Americans, or
think of a solution to make Americans the best value in the job market.

Wow, I don't know what happened with my post...grumble

About a third of it got cut off, *sigh*.

The whole point though, is that so many people are looking for jobs
rather than going after what they want. Yeah, I know, easier said than
done, but if you take that attitude "life" ends up becoming one of those
four letter words...

I think a lot of companies are feeling the effects of this Generation Y-
people filled with questions like "y should I have to do this", "y
should I do it your way", etc. Generation Y is filled with people that
don't have that old work ethic of doing your job well because how you do
anything is how you do everything. Anyone see the movie "Idiocracy"?
This movie is funny because its true.

Everyone goes through rough patches, heck I went through miles of broken
glass, but those challenges are opportunities to learn and improve.
Besides, life wouldn't be as interesting if we easily moved from
childhood to adulthood, easily finding careers and loved ones.

If you want to talk about employment, take a look at all the people that
own their business.

Here's some variables to factor into that equation...

-People fail when they set a goal and reach it, not when they reach a
goal and maintaint it.
-Successdul buainesses l

You want to understand what is truth? Try wikapedia-ing logical
fallacies.

*le sigh*

Whatever happened to Sticking to the Topic? I guess that went the way of
logical arguments that avoid circular reasoning, and other antiquated
and retarded methods of "proving" a particular notion.

As far as "sticking to the topic". Al Franken was mentioned, and is
worth metioning. He has an excellent way of demonstrating his point in
an unbiased manner. Not to mention, he DID write a book/chapter called
"Lying Liars and the Lies they tell"... or something like that.

Need more specific evidence than an entire chapter compiled by unbiased
supporters of the scientific method? Then why not check out Wikipedia on
logical falacies? Bill Oreilly is a genius of the emotional argument.
His "evidence" is identifiable by his "clever" rhetoric and his ability
to turn every point into an emotional argument.

What other proof do you need? BTW, I'm not a liberal, I'm a libretarian.

Well said, on both accounts. You will have to pardon me if my current
rhetoric is both haphazard and incongruent with my "usual" posting, but
I just came back from a party.

Regarding the omitting and translation of history, it is inevitable that
the victors in history are inevitably the writers. Omisssion,
transcription, and even interpretation are relative to the "transcribers
of truth". We can't be sure of anything, even though truth occasionally
leaks out. For example, Honest Abe is a sobriquet for Abraham Lincoln;
not because he was honest, but because it was a synical diatribe against
his character. Of course, this "marketing speak" has become doctrine
because of popularity of belief; not because of historical fact.

Like wise Absynthe, the Charge of the Light Brigade is THE CLASSIC
example of British nobility and stoicism within battle. They are in
fact, part of our history, if not the authors/ancestors. In this day and
age, source material should be a requirement, if not the basic
ingredient of any statement, so Kudos to you for requesting verification
of this...shall we say vacation from tradition, of their usual modus
operandi.

Of course, we as a global society have been departing fom our norm of
nobility and justice. Regardless of that current "example" of Britanic
moral charachte, you cannot use a few individuals as an example of the
character of an entire nation. That would be like taking KKK members as
an example of American ethnic standards.

Hmmm...I guess I shouldn't continue any longer, even I don't want to
re-read what I wrote, lol!

Shhhh, you're not supposed to let them know it's biased! *turns to
forum*

Everyone, please ignore the statements about bias...*hypnotizing
gesture* This quiz is not biased. These are not the droids you are
looking for...umm, or something.

But seriously, you would be surprised at the results. I gave this quiz
in a number of different settings, and most people were not actually
Libretarians, depending on the setting. For example, in a history,
collegel-level class, the vast majority of course fell under moderate,
with about equal parts liberal and conservative, a few pinkos, and me
being the only Libretarian.

Interestingly enough, I was talking with someone on Craig's list about
the best methods for giving a person away...we concluded that you should
always include a bike within the offer.smokin

noway You mean Bush should never have been president, I never would
have thought that?

bigsmile I kid, I kid. Excellent point on the voting irregularities!

Yeah M. excellent way to answer that question, because you're right,
there is no definitive right or wrong answer. Unfortunately life is not
as simple as a multiple guess question, but true results require
interaction at least on some level. As for trusting the parents though,
I disagree with your response. When its my life that's on the line, I'd
rather question and know, than hope and wonder. They may be excellent
drivers, but they are only human.

Well, it sounds like its the life of you family or that living space. If
it were my family, I'd move. Bad neighbors are not worth the hassle, and
dangerous neighbors are not worth the stress.

No moving isn't simple, but maybe your Uncle might be more protective if
you threaten to sue him for endangering you and your child. I know, it's
a *ick move to your uncle, but then again, its a *ick move to allow your
family to be in your situation. Protect your kids, that's the bottom
line.

Oh my.

Bad Americans, passive Americans, brain-washed Americans. These pages
are ripe with...well passionate Americans.

The brilliant thing about our country is that we ARE allowed to think
and say what we want, and asking others to keep their opinions is quite
frankly un-American.

Let's look at some logic here. If parents were driving you home when you
were younger, and they were about to drive off of a cliff, would you

A.) Assume that your parents wouldn't kill you?
B.) Jerk the steering wheel hard away from the cliff?
C.) Scream loudly and hope that your yelling would somehow alter the
course of the car?
D.) Ask the driver why they were driving towards the cliff?

Hehe, I'll withhold my answer on this till you come up with some
responses and reasons on your own...

Wow, the last two posts really had some pith to them. I am going to HAVE
to take the opposing viewpoint here. The problem isn't just with
catalogging human being like so much live stock, but its this herd
mentality that allows it. The issue revolves around precedents, and what
will be acceptable/constitutional in a court room setting beyond just
the confines of the law.

For example, if we keep all DNA evidence of ANYONE who has been taken
into custody (by the way this also includes anyone who has been involved
in domestic disputes, unpaid parking tickets, rtc.), then that evidence
needs to be kept there. Which means that ANYONE has access to it, not
just the government. Don't believe me? Thanks to the internet anyone can
find out anything about anyone within a matter of seconds, identity
theft is already an issue. What happens when special interest groups
outside of our government start dealing in "high-end" identity theft.

Additionally, I mentioned precedents. Today we find it constitutionally
acceptable to keep your DNA. Tomorrow, we are forcing everyone to submit
their DNA. The day after...do you really want to think about that? We
give our liberty away inches at a time; but it has been a long time,
with many inches flying through our fingers. I'm not conservative or
liberal. Politically, I'm a Libretarian. Don't know what it means, look
it up. All you need to glean from that tid-bit is that I don't want the
government in my daily affairs, heck, the less government the better. We
need a military, and we need our property rights protected. Beuracracy
has proven itself to be inefficient time and time agan, so why do we let
one run every aspect of our lives?

Ok, so I know I'm knew and haven't really cut my teeth in the local
posting community; but as I was perusing I noticed a lot of "left" and
"right" talk bouncing around. This little quiz isn't so much of a scale
as it is a square. It categorizes you extremely accurately within 8
questions, and it really puts to rest many "media notions" about
politics in general.

*le sigh* The media, I'll have to get to that some other time.

For now, please check out this quiz, you might find it very
enlightening.

Or you might think I'm nuts.glasses

To be honest, the whole world is becoming to PC, not just the Brits.
Sure they are changing nursery rhymes, but in America we actually manage
to segragate groups trying NOT to offend. Talk about backwards thinking!

It's a phenomenon called the euphamism treadmill. Look at the term
"Special". You know what it means, and in fact you can now call someone
"special" and they could reasonably take it as an insult to their
intelligence. However, "special" is used to replace "learning impaired",
which was in turn used to replace the term, "mentally handicapped",
which actually came about from the term "mentally retarded".

Whew. To sum up, if we are insulting someone, it is no worse to call
them "retarded" than it is to call them "special".(In some circles, it
is even worse because it is considered a backhanded compliment.)All we
have actually done is "spin our wheels" and create even more ways to
hurt others, and seperate other human beings who quite frankly just
think and learn differently, albeit slower, than the rest of us.
