Oh!! Texas has the Community Resource Directory like Oklahoma does. Call 2-1-1 (just like 9-1-1 on your phone) and tell them what you need, and they can give you all kinds of contacts. They can probably also give you a phone number for the DHS office (I don't know what they call it in TX) where you can get hooked up with food stamps (if that's something you think you might need... you wouldn't be eligible for cash assistance or medical without having kids).

But they have a choice whether or not to start eviction procedures, right? That could totally go work in your favor!

Definetly talk to the landlord as well...you might be surprised how they would be willing to work with you if you have been a good tenent.

I'm surprised how often that works out for my clients..

You're awfully young, is moving back with your parents for a little bit an option until you get back on your feet?

First, talk to your landlord and let them know what's going on. They have to go by the rules, but they can't work with you if they don't know the situation. Then, ask your family and friends if they can help out. Those payday loan places will screw you big time. Try temp agencies that pay daily (check out their websites, alot of them will tell you) to get money pronto. Your profile says you don't have kids, so you wouldn't qualify for any cash assistance through the state. You'd maybe qualify for some other assistance, but email me if you want to know more about that...

Oh absolutely not. I lose all sense of reason, I think.

Much to the chagrin of my neighbors, I'm sure, Eddie will chase the laser pointer up the walls..

Thanks, guys! I like to think I can brighten someone's day flowerforyou But really, Eddie does all the work. And I would film these things, but I think he knows that he's expected to perform then, and he does nothing. He just lays there, all Sphinx-like, and looks at me all arrogantly like, "Pfft, I don't think so, biotch. Who do you think I am, The Meow Mix cat? What a sell-out."

The look on his face was, "What the..AAAAHHHH!!!! GET IT OFF ME!!" And only cats can jump several feet straight up in the air from a laying position.

So I'm letting Eddie (the cat) chase the laser pointer. And do you know when you're 5 (or 25 or 45 for that matter) and you see something scary ON you, like a spider? And you SQUEAL like a little girl? And flail? And beat at yourself until you have demolished the scary thing into nonexistence? My cat toooootally just did that because the little red dot was on his leg. Give me a moment while I compose myself.... That was priceless laugh

I'm sorry. I'm a dork. You don't have to tell me.

I see you...does that sound eerie?laugh laugh

I always hate that! Like, when I was walking around campus, talking to one of my friends on the phone, and they'd say, "Oh, I can see you!!" -- scared the crap out of me!

laugh laugh laugh someone told me, "you need to raise your blinds in your bedroom so i can see you"

That's creepy, too!
