I could take you to a mountain top
And give the world to you,
But I'm sure that's not your way
Or what I should really do.

I could take you to a shoreline
And give you all the sea
But then you'd surely doubt me dear
And maybe you would flee.

I thought that I could buy you
The finest jewels and gold
But then you see right through
And then you I couldn't hold.

I pondered just a moment
And thought for many days,
I remembered your sweet heart, my dear,
And thought what you would say.

Then I got this basket
And filled it with some things.
I added just two candlesticks
Before we went away.

As I spread the blanket
And bid my darling sit,
I give you just an empty box
And get the candles lit.

Take the fears we have right now

We live and laugh
And love my dear

The memories of a better time
Just turn to black and white.
No words can say what sorrows bring
As memories fade to gray.

There was a time when I believed
That we were meant to be,
When everything I prided in
Was meant for you to be,

But now I know the strings you pull
Attach straight to the heart.
My dear you can't just throw away
A love you faked to start.

I've felt the teardrops fall like rain
I've even wondered why.
I never knew just why you left
Or why I even cried.

Something stange has happened,
There's one less beat I feel,
A tearing in my soul
Causes me to kneel.

Those eyes I saw so warm with care
Now turn away in pain,
I reach out to touch you
As you simply pull away.

Your lips where once our love had drank
Now quiver as you sigh,
No words are spoken clear right now
As these tears escape my eyes.

You refuse to tell me,
You claim it hurts much worse,
You say your heart is breaking
Just like you'd rehearsed.

You simply tell me that you can't
And then you run away.
The letter that you left me
Says you'll explain someday.

Well someday never came my dear,

Thunder rolls in the distance
As nightime sets the pace,
Blowing winds know we're here
As moonlight shines her grace.

A blanket in the vale
Where I gently lay you down.
Gazing toward the stars,
There's no one else around.

Soft, sweet wonders whisper
As a falling star burns out,
I hold you close beside me
For in you my wish is found.

A beacon in the darkness
Shines it's steady light,
Our guiding star has risen
To bless this perfect night.

The dainty smell of rose scent
Wafts within the air,
I gently place it in your hand
And disrupt your skyward stare.

I wipe away your tearfall
And breathe your breath of life,
Holding you I tremble
For without you I'd surely die.

Partaking of the wine,
Shared within our soul
Savored with intentions
None other shall ever know.

Waking in the morning
To the cheerful song of birds,
Kissed by golden sunrise
Blessed by more than words.
