Stolen Paint

Paint the skies an azure
Frost some clouds within
Sprinkle in some water
And let the mind begin,

Draw the vee shaped shadows
That dance upon the air
Dot in a scenic pasture
And you shall find me there.

Spread a perfect blanket
A size that's made for two,
I'll place upon it softly
A woven basket made for you.

The setting's almost perfect
Yet I'm missing what's profound
A darkened image I perceive
That waits to yet be found....

I'll swirl in a bit of sunlight
To grace an angel's face
And clothe her in a radiance
That portrays her mortal grace,

I'll leave out her wings of silver
For I know they're always there,
My love I see a likeness
As I add with heightened care.

A bottle filled with passion
Formed within a flash
Pouring liquid love
Within a dainty glass.

Now it's almost finished
I only wish that it were real,
For this picture made with heart
Was the heart you came to steal.

Perceptions of Ponderance

Pander to life
And ponder to dream
Dare to laugh
And think to scream

Wondrous confusion
Gone in a flash
Depression sets in
While likened minds crash

Off to the busy
Rushing along
Stepping on small
Hating them all

Preaching not violence
Yet leaving behind
Sowing what's reaped
In a world so unkind

Unbind the drunken
In social decay
Laugh with the loonies
Filled with dismay

Wear not your heart
A feast for the weak
Show not your tears
That kiss your own cheek

Hardened and biased
Yet freethinkers all
Destroy what we had
We're doomed for a fall

Cooperative decisions
Killed from the start
Programmed the minds
And call it an art

Fear not your death
You weary in life
Fear for the living
Living in strife

Dwell not tomorrow
For tomorrow's not here
And the future is dull
And darkened I fear

Take care today
And tread softly my dear
For those who ponder their lessons
Have nothing to fear.
