from Sky News Australia

Documents obtained by the US State Department reveal Chinese military scientists discussed the weaponisation of SARS coronaviruses five years before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Top scientists outlined their ideas in the document predicting a third world war would be fought with biological weapons.

Question is, why should we know this from an Australian channel.
Does it not confirm this as 'deep state' conspiracy cover up when Dr. Fauci funded the Wuhan virus Lab research (80 billion as I remember) because of Congressional ban on virus research for military purposes.

From the Times:

China launched it's Long March Rocket on April 28, with the job of putting the 22-ton, 16.6 m core module of China’s new Tianhe space station into orbit. While the launch was flawless—at least so far as doing its principal job which was getting the Tianhe to orbit ....

What is worrying is the follow-through ..., the expected crash of the launch rocket anywhere on earth, tomorrow, May 8th.

When spacefaring nations send a payload to orbit and jettison a spent first rocket stage along the way, they typically don’t let that stage fly too high or too fast, which would allow it to reach orbit. Rather, they keep it on a parabolic, suborbital trajectory. That means that when it’s done with its work, it falls immediately back to Earth in a predictable way and in an unpopulated area. In the case of rockets launched from Cape Canaveral, the dumping ground is the nearby Atlantic. In the case of China, which launches its rockets from the Wenchang Launch Center on the southern island province of Hainan, the Pacific is typically the junk yard.

But the Long March 5B didn’t fly that way. Instead, the core stage made it all the way to orbit along with the Tianhe module. Tianhe has its own guidance system to keep it in a high, stable orbit. But the spent Long March core stage was left behind in a much more wobbly (and unsustainable) orbit, and now it’s destined to fall back to Earth.

John, I understand each and every point of yours having lived in US for over 5 years and there's no debating over the Law.

You may agree that living conditions in countries like Venezuela are comparable to that in Syria both being under unpopular military rule. One of the historical reasons it's not easy for ordinary citizens to get passports w/o harassment is because till the 80s CIA messed with their governments. Further, immigration visas require a 7 year waiting period as due diligence while as you know; this wait period does not apply to Europeans.

My point in all this is that having a generation of educated and successful Latino population pays off in the long run. For example it becomes easier for US to do business with these countries - eventually opening them up towards stable democracies. I know this is idealism but what alternatives are there? You suggested UN intervention. Trump virtually shut down the UN with sanctions on Iran when rest of Europe was negotiating. In fact, if India had not complied with US sanctions on Iran then India would have come under US sanctions.

I'm not saying Trump was wrong or Biden is right. Trump came in at a time when some countries had gone out of control. Now, there's an opportunity for via media between T's and B's extreme policies. Anyway, this is a dating site and its not my intent to disturb anyone's peace of mind.

Regarding handcuffs, I withdraw my statement.

So Guruji (Indian preacher) said to the audience, ‘place your hands on whichever part of the body you feel sick and I will say a mantra to heal you’.

So a lady placed her hands on her neck because she had a thyroid problem and the husband sitting next to her placed his hands over his groin. So the lady looks over and says, ‘Janny, he only said he will heal the sick. He did not say he will raise the dead’.

Did he FORGET getting the vaccine when Trump was still in office?????

Politics aside, Biden strengthened and reinforced the vaccination program. So while we may not give credit, his focus on making America Safe first over weighs his many faults.

Are you talking about many times more illegal immigrants coming into our country illegally?

Who are legal immigrants anyway? Chinese and Indians who have college degrees earned in their mother countries at tax payers moneys and in US and taking away high paying jobs.

And who are the illegals? If we cut through the scrap of drug cartel scare that Republicans have been spreading; most people entering are young and with children and just like your neighbor's children, they too have a natural affinity to USA; almost sons of the soil; on who you can depend to, for instance, serve in the US Army. In fact, these are people trying to escape the cartels.

For far too long USA has closed its gates to it's neighbors, and embroiled herself overseas. As they say, generosity begins at home. Who knows, fifty years from now Venezuela, Guatemala, Columbia - all Christian nations - may become your most dependable allies.

This view does not contradict with erecting the Border Wall. If Trump had increased the immigration cap and sped the immigration processing ...

I used to think Trump was right but after viewing the pictures of camps and the interviews of the refugees posted by Republican senators I believe Biden has not only humanitarian but also the longer term view.

Allow me to remind you that nowhere in the world do cops handcuff citizens as part of the arresting process let alone licensed to shoot and kill on suspicion of intent - but we are digressing.

On Foreign Affairs
Outside of the US, while we have great expectations from the American President there are some aspects that gives us mixed feelings. For instance on Covid, Biden could have credited his predecessor for pushing through the vaccine / masks / ventilators at warp speed. By not giving even token credit, as they say in military parlance, it is 'stolen valor'.

If the category of interest is world peace - then you may agree that during Trump's tenure, and for the first time in decades after 9/11 - Islamic terror trickled down in Europe and Asia; then ceased altogether across the globe. Terrorists & Terror States had to chose between massacring civilians at the risk of their Terror States getting wiped out from the face of the earth. If an Iranian (or anyone else) was to bomb any US allied region, it was clear that while he may not be caught like Osama bin Laden; there would be no home for him to return to. No family, no friends who would remain alive to glorify his Jihad.

Americans worry over BLM. One has to live in countries like India to understand RLM. Trump busted the myth that if one Islamic nation was attacked, Muslims all over the planet would go berserk. He single highhandedly erased Islam's solemnity over any and all religions.

There are other aspects of his legacy in foreign affairs like lassoing in China or keeping the doors open to Russia all the while reminding them where the center of power lay.

If Biden can take forward this legacy in foreign affairs, and indications are that he is looking for a consortium approach with other nations towards long lasting peace; then American leadership will continue to shine.
---xxx

I personally do not look forward to Trump's return in 2024. For one thing, he completed the mission he was born for. Second, he is full of himself and an older Trump does not mean wiser. Hostile forces have also learnt their lesson and they will simply endure his term.

On Domestics

Biden seems to have the longer term vision and we see this in his efforts to revive education and science which has become a necessity to the world running out of oil. Maybe Biden has plans to push forward hybrid cars / Amtrack and so on.

--xx--

Revised Outlook
What I do look forward to in 2024 is transparent and fair elections because it is from this truth; the root of democracy; that America derives its legitimacy to lead the world. Whether it is climate change, or whatever.

As I said, it hardly matters to us anymore whether Biden or Harris or any other loony democrat or an idiot like Ted Cruz is in the White House; whether fake news or Big Tech thrives; whether countries like India or Brazil survive with lowered deaths to Covid; whether Taiwan goes under China and so on; because Trump has already gifted the democracies four years to retool. Example, Brexit. For this, I'm grateful.

Let's forget Trump because the old Trumpism is no longer valid in this changed world. If people get hysteria when Trump's name is evoked; as a member here pointed out,the fault lays within us.

He's already outperformed Trump in nearly every category, particularly on Covid.

As you say, Biden has done more in 100 days in 'other categories' - domestic to US. The economy, green or black; is the real and huge domestic challenge. It is up to Biden to harness American science once again to achieves this. (World economy also follows) Biden, needs all the support to turn the economy around with sunrise technologies. Seems like an American Dream but who knows what a bit of luck can do.

Hi Shockz,

Great, astounding work. On the first one, having an accountant's mind, I began searching for the anchor, haha.

I suppose I'm a bit outdated for the other themes but the gently moving 'fairy' has great potential. If you made her older and wearing glasses - may create a hypnotic effect.

Also the video - blue planet flickers to orange and then red with hot bursts. It suggests science. I have been looking around for art works carrying a science idea but apart from etchings like Ben Franklin flying a kite or Newton's cannon, found nothing yet.

All the best.

Three men are lounging near the pool at their fancy retirement community in Florida

Steve says: "I started with a men's clothing shop and built the business into the finest department store in town. One day there was a fire and it destroyed everything. Since I was too old to begin again, I took the insurance money and retired - and here I am."

Ben says: "I had a hardware store downtown. It was the finest hardware store in the city. One Friday evening after closing time a pipe burst and flooded the store. On Monday morning I came in to discover that my entire inventory had been ruined. Like you, I was too old to start again, so I took the insurance money and retired down here to Florida."

Billy says: "I had a pharmacy in the Midwest. I was very successful, and had seven pharmacists working for me. However, one night a tornado came and picked up my entire store, utterly destroying it. I came the next morning and there was no pharmacy there! I was already a senior citizen so I took the insurance money and moved to Florida."

Steve and Ben look utterly confused. After a few moments, Ben asks Billy "Uh...how the **** do you make a tornado?!"

To assist Biden in his 1 trillion infra plan I suggest the following:

Sell existing road *** rail bridges to countries like India. We could dismantle them, ship, heat treat the steel and re-erect on locations of our choice. For example the Golden Gate could connect Sri Lanka to India.

Amtrak with their elevated track sections could go to Saudi Arabia. KSA has been struggling to link their East and West coasts over the dessert.

There maybe a lot of bidders for Disney Land. So I leave this open.

US could accrue 20 billion from these sales and it will certainly be a change from the usual shipment of used fighter jets sold to these countries not to mention reduced carbon emission and promotion of world peace.

It would be a sad day indeed if people didn’t learn anything from history, the main lesson being – ‘be close to your enemy’. We must accept that post WWII, countries like China, India were 3rd world countries - at one time could not afford basic necessities; literacy for instance.

It is in this context, over the backdrop of ‘rising China’ that JM’s rags to riches story needs to be viewed. His remarkable story gives insights on the two politico-economic systems that divide the World iconize by the US system; and the Chinese.

Chinese Policy:
1. Power first,
2. Wealth next (mainly through masses (people's) sweat equity),
3. Distribution to People third.

In other words, any entrepreneur who generates wealth is a bonus and he must understand that the government allowed him to do so. The wealth ultimately belongs to government.

American Policy:
1. Wealth creation by people / entrepreneurs,
2. Power through taxation (power to compete and retain status quo),
3. Distribution by way of infra / loans at lower rates.

In other words, businesses may run as monopolies overseas – but within US they must abide by anti-trust laws.

What is the difference when like Big Tech; giant corporate form consortiums to influence their government?
--xx

One may fault CCP for it's expansionism but one must credit where it’s due. Post WWII when Asian countries had to restart from scratch (Japan and SK are exceptions) CCP vastly improved the standard of 1.4 billion people.

Coming to India with its socialistic model (mix of capitalism and government run companies) – we also have our Jack Ma stories – fact remains that 60% of our population is stagnated in poverty - hidden in rural India and visible in our city slums. This was the level we degenerated to when Arab / Islamic invasions began in the 1200s. Till then, India was a net exporter. The slip downwards increased with the Mughal rule (Genghis Khan descendants) and their expansion in the 16th Century. Finally, India was ripe for takeover by Europeans in the 1800s when traders from England / France established their depots in India. (I live in Chennai, the first base that was leased to the English by a local ruler).

From what little I know about history, it was the French Revolution that inspired the ‘Rights of Man’ in the West and later Marxism in Russia. I wonder if the British policies had not evolved to include Indians in self government whether or not this Country with its unarmed citizenry would not have gone the Communist way to dislodge foreign rule. If that had happened, the largest volunteer army that fought in Europe (Indian volunteers) may not have taken place. Further, US planes would not have had a safe base in India and WWII may have resulted differently in Asia.

History, as they say, is written by the victorious. What they do not say is victory hangs by the thread of fortuitous accidents.

Opinion piece from The New York Times / April 28:

Ant made digital payments and banking products available to a wide segment of the country’s population, aiding anti-poverty efforts. The Alipay app has over 700 million monthly users, including residents of remote rural areas. Ant has financed some 29 million small businesses, including street vendors.

Perhaps Mr. Ma believed he need not look over his shoulder. After all, for many years, China tacitly tolerated underground financial institutions subject to fewer regulations and less supervision than traditional commercial banks. These outfits, known as shadow banks, offered higher interest rates to depositors and provided credit to riskier borrowers, including small-scale entrepreneurs the government-backed banks ignored. (Eventually, the government clamped down on this sector once it became too risky: rising loan defaults and bank failures meant depositors could lose their savings.)

Ant took advantage of the government’s passive approach to regulating fintech companies, developing a wide range of financial products and services catering to a growing middle class. Mr. Ma used his influence and political power to shield his company from regulatory oversight, even refusing to share its trove of consumer data with the government.

Financial regulators fretted about how Alipay, along with a rival, WeChat Pay, swiftly dominated digital payments, deterring new entrants. Indeed, this has spurred a government project to develop a digital version of China’s currency as an option for digital payments. Ant, they feared, was also harvesting data on its users to judge their creditworthiness and offer them loans on better terms than state-owned banks.

Meanwhile, it could hide any risks from these loans by shuffling its revenues and losses across different arms of its conglomerate. Even while it expanded, as a fintech company Ant could dodge the stringent regulations banks are subject to. In effect, it could become too big to fail.

For fintech firms in China, Ant’s forced restructuring will serve as a template. Competitors like Tencent have been put on notice: Be transparent, comply with regulations, protect consumer data — or else. (China’s government knows only too well how extensive data gathering confers power.) While the government tolerates private enterprise and encourages innovation, entrepreneurs should think twice before voicing overt defiance of the government.

Based on the $81 million electronic bank heist from Bangladesh's central bank in 2016 that was later traced to North Korea - followed by North Korea's missile threat on the US in 2017.

And the pattern we have seen earlier: bank robberies / illegal transfers followed by terror attacks

Here is a theory:
wherein CCP, having applied large fines on their top 13 Big Techs:
Alibaba, Tenscent, ByteDance, JD, Meituan, Didi Chuxing and others ...

(In Alibaba's case CCP has taken complete control.)

-- has, apart from it's war chest - a windfall of a trillion USD - an amount sufficient to tide over in the unlikely event that Biden administration applies sanction after China has annexed Taiwan.

Now, it's a matter of timing.

The Russian Prime Minister comes to President Putin and nervously tells him to abolish these time zones.

Putin: Why?

Prime Minister: Ah, I can't find myself with these times. I fly to another city, call home and everyone is asleep. Once, I woke you up at 4 in the morning, but I thought it was only evening. I called Angela Merkel to congratulate her on her birthday and she tells me she had it yesterday. And then, when I wished the Chinese President a happy New Year, and he said that it was on the next day.

Putin: Well, these are just minor issues.

Prime Minister: Minor issues?! Do you remember when that Polish plane crashed with their President? I called them to express my condolences, but the plane hadn't even taken off yet!!!

The real question is; "who is Jack Ma??"

You mean 'why Jack Ma'?

JM (reportedly) told CCP they have to restructure the risk averse Chinese Banks to lend to private enterprise. (Ali Baba / ANT is listed in the US Exchange)

He also told CCP they were handling the Covid crisis 'poorly'.

Billionaires disappearing in Commie China is not a new thing.

But JM has a presence worldwide - as motivational speaker, 'debate with Elon Musk' - not to mention role modelling for Chinese youth ...

--- not anybody's fan; just clarifying CCP policy.

It's ridiculous to view Electric Cars without some level of AI. This also means that with higher end AI, older women will no longer be interested in male companionship except for their utility value.

It's similar to what happened when hydraulic transmission was introduced, first to heavy earth movers and trucks; now that women could drive trucks the demand for 'equal pay for equal work' resonated with greater force. We may laugh this off but look at sales data for cars after fluid transmission came in; sales rose and although we don't see women opening passenger doors for men - this rise was due to women drivers.

Now in US, manual transmission is around 14% of sales.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JuyDN0qzRY

As per forecast in Europe, the EU mandate for reduced emission was expected to drive up sales to 10% in 2020 - then of course we had the Covid interruption.

In US, although no similar mandate, we may expect AI to spur up the rise and with
Tesla dominant in both segments ...
