Topic: Biden breaks his promise to America

He had promised a black person, also a woman as his running mate.

1. Black is Afro-American.

2. Black is generally understood as being born in a family where at least one parent had an whose family tree showed a slave several generations ago,

3. A woman!

Barrack Obama Failed in the second test

Kamala Harris fails 2nd test. - as she;s daughter of Asian immigrants.

It does not matter if Biden does not know that Asian covers: China, Vietnam, Japan, Korea in the East to India and Afghanistan in the West. One may even exclude Iran and Iraq as part of Middle East but India is definitely Asia. I write this as a tutorial because one has to be born or lived with slave heritage to rise from the ashes and be a Moses; or a Solomon. As Mandela did and so with Collins Powell and C. Rice

What are Americans thinking, all Americans, Black, White. Asian, Latino, Dems and Republicans thinking

Another dream stolen?

Yeah, umm, what I see is racial prejudice.

What Biden should have promised is to have a running mate who is qualified and left the race and gender out of the equation. The moment race and gender is mentioned, it becomes prejudistic.

We don't need a black president.
We don't need a woman president.

What we need... Is a POTUS which does the job they are elected to do.
One who actually represents all the people of this nation equally.
Not someone to "RUN" the country but to help the country "RUN" itself.
By providing unification and representation of all the people, equally.

Gotta agree with Tom on this one.

BTW, Biden said "woman of color" ie. not white. Not necessarily "black".

And I believe Harris is of mixed race.

Don't know when the term black automatically ment african. Also didn't know that you had to be able to trace your ancestors back to slavery in order to be black. Must have missed that in history class. Now days someone that doesn't lie to us on a regular basis that admits when they've made a mistake would be an improvement.

Righto Tom.

Against this background of what you said, Biden's initial 'promise' of 'black woman' before naming the candidate doomed any potential running mate by narrowing it to 'black woman'.

Okay, this has been the campaign strategy of Dems, but with Kamala Harris, it shouldn't surprise us if and when during the debates, Trump alludes to KH as that fake black woman.

On another note, your comment forced me to check back on the facts.

yes her father, Donald Harris, a prominent economist was born in Jamaica and settled in America.

So okay, Biden got this one right.

When I heard who Biden named as his running mate I thought "brilliant"!
After more thought I think it may backfire.

How can anyone (in America) vote for Joe Biden. He is a 70s era politician and his is the poster geezer for graft and swamp creature. Obama is even on record about his ex vice president, and I quote "Do not underestimate Joe's abitity to muck something up!"
Do your research, He was in the last administration....That administration that wiped its *** with the Constitution. Illegaly bussed illegal aliens all over the country and just dropped them off in bus stations leaving citys with the obligation.
Joe Biden IS the reason why DONALD TRUMP WAS ELECTED.

When regular Americans feel abandoned by their government, they rise up in rebellion. DONALD TRUMP was the rebellious blow the the Washinton white eletist crowd. As far as I'm concerned, anyone voting for forgetfull Joe is just voting for the marxist euro trained communist in the democratic and republican parties.

He's not actually far left, more central leaning left.
Bernie on the other hand is as left as can be.

It would be great to see a person of color, a descendent of American Southern slavery, in the White House. Maybe one day.

Hi Kay,
It is an emotionally charged statement you have made and I thought you may like to hear my views from outside America - as some sort of barometer of opinion from Asia.

We have no problems with a Black American, (man or woman hardly matters to us) as long as they are 'descendant of American Southern slavery' - is elected. After all, for 200 years We were among Britain's colonies.

In the 1970's the world may not have been ready to receive Jessie Jackson, or even MLK if he was alive; partly because of the Cold War Divide.

In 2008, Obama was received as the American President (even in India when he visited) and his being black - we felt would generate more empathy and understanding. It did not. In fact, he was rather 'uppity' - as Chief Guest in our Republic Day parade - but let's leave this aside.

In 2016, we were worried about a woman, Hillary Clinton sneaking into the White House on the credentials of her husband', who the world admired even after his affair with his intern became public in 98. To us foreigners Hillary's ride to White House appeared worse than a man having an affair with his poor house maid. It was like an incestuous relationship with the public; that we Asians are familiar with. In India, we had a daughter then a grandson son of our first prime minister become prime ministers - 3 generations! (Now a 4th generation is in the waiting).

Now 2020, we are in a surreal world with Covid. Asia is not like Europe. We copy American domestic policies. Example, if US opens schools in September; India will do too.

Allow me to add, we live next door to China. Over the years China had built infrastructure to mobilize large contingents - while offering sweet nothings to Indian government. Recently China took over some strategic heights at the border and was poised to take over Ladakh, our state. Under the smog of Covid, the world sunk in their own domestic issues no one would have interrupted as the Chinese crept in.
Trump sneezed and - the Chinese surprise was visible in their news agency reaction. The Chinese army halted in their tracks. This is not some fiction. China is the third largest nuclear power.

From India, to Philippines to Japan; Asia is very worried about Chinese dominance. All we need is four more years of Trump to shore up our defenses. Recently we procured some very agile missile planes, which we cannot afford from France.

We know that Kamala Harris is dead against the Indian Union. She wants independence for Kashmir, one of our key strategic state that stands between the China and Pakistan land unification.

--xx

Americans, black and white have been extremely kind to immigrants till 9/11 happened. Even after that, continued to be kind to Asians. In turn, we try and reciprocate when any American including Europeans visit / live in our cities. Yes, there are incidents of women being molested; but by and large, they are safe - if they live within our cultural constraints.

--xx

So my question is, in this moment of terrible and unprecedented crisis - when only the US can threaten war to neutralize China - can not Black American aspirations wait for another 4 years?

Thank you.

got this off of a blog on mingle. I am an Iranian. My view of the US election is that, now that the leaders
of the Islamic Republic are wholeheartedly opposed to President Trump, it means that Trump has done
his job of dealing with and putting pressure on Iran's leaders. On the other hand, Mr. Joe Biden,
who uses a Shiite cleric and a supporter of the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran in his election
campaign, is the breadwinner of turning the United States into one of the bases if he wins the upcoming
elections. It will turn extremist Muslims into supporters of the Islamic Republic. And it can be said that
he is thinking of creating
(the Islamic Republic of the United States of America).
