I just saw "MIllion dollar baby" movie. And I'm so overwhelmed and broken (yes, i have a heart even with my sarcasm).
However, the issue is to let die somebody who is in a veggie state with no chance to recover, and in amazingly huge amount of pain.
I know the answer is a big big no according to what i believe.
However, on the other hand we have a person who we love with all our heart in damn missery. Begging us to stop such miswery and pain.
I have to be honest I don't have an answer for this one.
I would not know what to do in this one.
I just pray to my Heavenly Father never to put me through such a decision.
My God what to do?
I don't think nobody ever would have the real answer until he/she is in such a situation.

I believe in miracles, but if you fast & pray & the miracle still didn't come, I'd pull the plug, definitely & I would want it done for me

We would never let our pet suffer that way because we love them too much. Too bad we can't show the same love to the people in our lives.

What I’ll never understand is why religious people always seem to have a problem with death, and atheists quite often support things like euthanasia.

You’d think it would be just the opposite.

I mean, atheists believe that when you die you die and that’s that. So you’d think they would cherish life to the max.

Religious people, on the other hand, are supposed to believe in life after death. So you’d think they would embrace the idea of a soul being returned to ‘the Father’.

It just seems to me that either they really don’t believe in eternal life. Or they don’t trust ‘the Father’ to be fair.

Otherwise why would they view death as such a big deal???

Seriously I could never understand this. Religious people should the most accepting of death, but it’s just the opposite, they seem to view death as the worst possible thing. Which does tend to support the idea that their entire belief system is driven by nothing more than a fear of death.

They just don’t seem to trust God at all when it comes to the death of loved ones.

to die without the name of Jesus on ones lips is not taken lightly.

Pain and suffering oftens leads many to abandon God for the tragedy and the suffering and the injustice of a hampered opportunity at the fullness of joy in this life.....

...but to die without tasting the Lord's love?

to die and not having realized that for such is better offered?

that is gut wrenching to a Christian.

not the fear of death but the sorrow over the grief and sadness and suffering felt by another and tragically not recognized as such.

ouch.

Sorry Abra....this is just your Assumption here .

Christians don't think that way at all.

Do you honestly believe that God is that cold-hearted?

I’m very thankful that my view of God is far superior to this picture.

I certainly hope that my view of God is right, then we’ll all win in the end. flowerforyou

If you view of God is right, then a whole lot of people are going to be losers. frown

I can only speak for myself as a Christian.

I do not believe God is that cold-hearted.

I can understand how others can be tormented by such a decision.

I can also understand Miguel's comment - he does not know what he would do unless faced with that situation on a personal basis.

I believe God is far superior to human understanding. He searches the heart, that includes all - babies, disabled, ALL.

I would have to see that particular movie, story before commenting on that, further.
