The ruling quickly became fodder for the presidential race. Sen. John McCain lauded the decision in a written statement, calling it a "landmark victory for Second Amendment freedom in the United States." The Republican presidential hopeful criticized his rival Barack Obama's stance on the issue, saying the Democrat had refused to sign a statement calling for Thursday's ruling. McCain is an idiot!! The President has no more authority over this than he does abortion! What difference does signing a statement make? Zero!!! At least McCain stands for something that's more than I can say for Obama To anyone with knowledge of Constitutional rights this should never have even been an issue! McCain is just a Politician and is good at running a con on the American People! He knew his opinion didn't make a difference here. He was just being a politician! Obama supported the DC Gun Ban. Just saying. Here is him nodding to the question and then supporting it in an interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wu9jE1MnAE |

McCain is against MLK day

its stupid and unfair. !! This topic is ridiculous. It's baseless rhetoric to assume Mccain thinks that MLK's contribution to this country was nothing. He just doesn't see a reason to make it a federal holiday. Why just him when there are so many others that deserve one as well? The Founding Father's of this country get lumped all together and they even get tossed to the background of July 4th. Grow up. |

that would only use private companies to solve the energy crisis And, that is a bad thing why? He is a Socialist. In that whole paragraph it is "boooo private enterprise, go strong central government!" That is not an American principle. |

It is truth. It was something a campaign strategist would say in a meeting, why he did this like this I do not know. When everyone on Morning Joe said there was no real issue for they knew how to take it I have hope for us.
It is true, and even the DEMOCRATS, including Hillary Clinton stated this, this was also big in the 2004 election. All commentators, even Democratic operatives stated that should anything military or terror related happen it would favor the Republicans (Bush and now Mccain). The same is true now, both sides feel it. Grow up and be real. He was not saying "Oh gosh, I hope we get hit by a terror attack and many die", he was saying "If something terror or military related I do know it will be a "big advantage" to Mccain." And, it would. It's just simple fact. Commentators have been saying it, analysts have been saying it, everyone in the media has been saying just this for a very long time now. But, when a Mccain guy says it, uh oh. Sure Olbermann will dedicate tonight's rant to this. |

Two soldiers now acquited, innocent in the Haditha farce, are now suing Senator John Murtha for slander. I hope they get millions.
All soldiers were found innocent, besides one who is awaiting verdict. |

Okay, let's say you're walking down the street, you live in a small town or a small suburb, walking home from a party and it's very early in the morning. Like 2AM.
You look over at a home and see that the garage door is wide open and the front door is open as well. You walk up to make sure everything is alright and see that the guys keys are in his truck as well. What would you do? Any good citizen would call the police because it looks VERY suspicious. Robber Calls In Advance

Sounds like some stupid Robbers Most are. I remember watching one of those Amazing Videos thing and this guy tried to rob a store with a box on his head. Like a big cardboard box. He forgot to put holes in the box and could not see a thing he was doing. One of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Or, the robber who has the homeowner come home during the robbery and hides under the bed, falls asleep, and the homeowner hears him snoring. |

MCCAIN'S DAY IN CANADA

It was done to campaign without actually announcing it is a campaign speech. Just like putting your name on ANY bill that is important and coming to vote without actually being there as the bill is being introduced or worked upon in the committee.

I'm most interested in the fact that this took place in Colorado...lol, isn't it sad when the thing I'm most shocked about in this story is where it took place? haha

Wow you did some serious research...lol. I knew we had a lobbying effort in Washington, and honestly I have no problems with most lobbyists. These people work with Congress members and people in their administrations.
There are good lobbyists and bad lobbyists. Just like there are good Realtors and bad Realtors. However, there are no good Congressmen, that's the exception...lol jk, there are good ones out there. They are just hard to find. The only reason I jumped on Obama is because the Obama side think they are bad, so I just used that to my advantage. However, the thing is these same side loves environmentalists, and have you ever heard of the Sierra Club? That is just one of the many environmental groups that have HUGE lobbying power in Washington. Washington needs lobbyists. A country with such huge territory, businesses, people, and infrastructure need very informed and dedicated people lobbying their causes. And, people lobbying opposition as well is done. That is fine and dandy, it is when the Congressman or woman gets a kickback, money directly into their state that is a bit shady, and so on that there is a real issue. As to lobbying, right now there is a huge effort in my state for property tax reform. It will benefit us realtors, but it will save a market crippled here by very high taxes. Homeowners and home buyers are being hit really really hard. |

Jist of the speech I just watched.
Mccain sucks because he doesn't support my VA Bill, he has one of his own and it stinks. The rest of the speech was just normal stuff, nothing new, nothing thought provoking. I thought I was watching a Mccain speech. |

I think they have both been turning them down for the same reason. Only one network televising them! Maybe they are both scared! Mccain proposed 10, Obama said he'd do only 1. "Republican presidential candidate John McCain proposed on Wednesday that Democrat Barack Obama join him in at least 10 face-to-face encounters at town hall meetings this summer." - http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSWAT00958120080605 Obama says heck no, only 1 and 4 crafted debates so he knows what is coming: "The Obama campaign offered to do one joint town hall with McCain on the economy" - http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/06/13/1140179.aspx |

This man is a good speaker! I cant see that he is reading anything! He's good!! I'm watching it right now. He does well in speeches because he is very good at memorization of his speeches. However, it has been noted that in unscripted stuff, townhall stuff he is not the same man. That is why many say he won't do as many townhall debates, I think he said yes to only one. Anyways, I'm watching the video right now. |

Fanta he's got solid evidence! He found it on the internet, it's got to be true... Or, maybe the fact the evidence I posted is from multiple major news media outlets, every source saying the exact same things. |

Opensecrets.org, the Web site of the Center for Responsive Politics, is the most authoritative source on campaign finances. Basing its reports on data from the Federal Election Commission, the Center shows that Obama indeed doesn’t take much money from a sector the Center calls “lobbyists.” Through the end of December, Clinton received more than $800,000 and McCain around $400,000 from this group, which the Center says includes people who work for lobbying firms at the local, state, and federal level and their relatives who are not otherwise employed, as well as those who are officially registered as Washington lobbyists. Obama received contributions of about just $86,000 from this group. http://www.cjr.org/campaign_desk/obamas_lobbyist_line.php $86,000 and he gave it back!! Amazing. How much does it say McCain has taken? $400,000? and that's just the first quarter when they were giving it to people they thought would win! $800,000 to the corporate lap dog Hillary! Thank God she lost! And who knows how much Giuliani and Romney received! The one expected to win the Republican nomination. Now it all goes to who? Yep, you guessed it. McCain!!! Why are you now backtracking? I did not say he took money during this campaign but he has in the past and quite significantly. He not only took money, but he actually assisted the lobbyist in getting good results for the COMPANIES they worked for. He has also funneled quite significant pork over the years back into his state to assist COMPANIES. The TOP personal donations for Obama are coming from Lawyers. Very rich. He is getting donations from hedge funders, those uber rich who sit on boards of big companies and have served on major companies in the past. Obama isn't a man of change, well besides going back to financing PRE-WATERGATE, breaking precedent of public financing that was setup because of Watergate. |

All you are doing is bringing up the standard method of campaigning in the past. All Politicians have been doing that for years! The difference is that McCain still does it. While Obama is about real change! It's been less than two days since he crossed the delegate threshold to become the Democratic presidential nominee and Sen. Barack Obama's mark on the party is already being felt. On Good Morning America Thursday, ABC News' Chief Washington Correspondent George Stephanopoulos reported "the Democratic National Committee will no longer accept contributions from federal lobbyists, will no longer take contributions from PACs" in keeping with Obama's well-publicized policy. "The DNC and the Obama Campaign are unified and working together to elect Barack Obama as the next president of the United States. Our presumptive nominee has pledged not to take donations from Washington lobbyists and from today going forward the DNC makes that pledge as well," said Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. "Senator Obama has promised to change the way things are done in Washington and this step is a sure sign of his commitment. The American people's priorities will set the agenda in an Obama Administration, not the special interests." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/05/obamas-in-control-no-more_n_105407.html Well no kidding all politicians have been doing it for years. That isn't the point. Though Mccain's PACs and lobbyist money thus far barely makes up 1% of contributions according to OpenSecrets.org: http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/summary.php?cid=N00006424&cycle=2008 However, Obama is claiming he is above it all, he is the candidate of change. Now he is giving up public financing, something was introduced after WATERGATE. He has taken lobbyist money in the past, PAC money, participates in pork barrel spending, and has the uber-richies lining up with him as well. He is also getting major funding from MoveOn.org, which is more powerful and wealthy than most lobbyist and PACs out there. Their chief financier, George Soros, made over 1 billion last year alone. MoveOn.org IS a lobbying GROUP, no different than a lobbyist for they are lobbying their views of how the country should be by spending millions in ads and tossing millions to get him elected. He is a typical politician. You just hate moveon.org because they are anti-bush!! You should love them for that!! First of all, your quick assumptions show a weak character to judge so quickly based off of no evidence besides how you feel. Second of all, that is not the fact at all. George Soros is a bad rich dude all around. He made billions off of currency deflation and weakening stocks and economies. He bought his way into the Ukraine government among other corrupt people. Third, MoveOn.org is a far left organization founded by an even more far left guy (Soros), and they are a group that resorts to the most vile of smear attacks. There ya go. Again, you take a tiny piece of what I said, focus on that, and try and change the subject yet again because you're reaching, it is obvious. |
