Here, we call the cops for a stray dog. It gets taken to the humane society and fines are issued. I would tell the neighbors that I will call the police next time I see their dog off their property. It's not the dogs fault, it is the owners irresponsibility. jmo

Good post Queen, Goodwill has upped their prices over the years, as they build new stores. Of course when they used to move into a vacant building and sell stuff cheap it was cool. I used to buy my work cloths there. 50 cents for T-Shirts. Goodwill is now for profit. Capitalism at it's best.

His speech was general and not specific enough for me. Still too many questions for this viewer. I guess then you will always have questions because I don't know what more he can say to people. How frustrating. oh well. He gave a good speech. But 20 minutes will not explain how a thousand pages of legislation will be paid for. Or how many loopholes will be discovered and abused by people. Fix the current health care, don't take it over. Government is for oversight, not management. Look at the Walter Reed debacle. Our vets were treated like crap..oh well. I will not argue the point, just not seeing how it will work. Many people have no insurance because of their lifestyle. I will not pay for the drunk sitting in the bar, the cigarette smoker, the daredevil, the prostitute etc. |

should we spend money on treating cancer victims who smoke? As long as the Government taxes tobacco..yes. Do we treat liver patients that drink? Do we treat any drug abuser..you bet. The only difference is tobacco is legal and profited by the Government..Look at alcohol ads on TV. The Government makes billions off of cigarettes and alcohol. so are you saying the line is to difficult to draw the line is based on money. Prohibition did not last. Reason..money. Look at the pharmecueticals...Viagra...and all the heart pills and restless leg syndrome pills. They are legal drug pushers. Cigarettes are the least of our worry, wait till the pill poppers have side effects down the road. Prozac and all the rest. Diet pills..should we treat breast implant people or tattoo people when it is proven it is dangerous to their health? |

After years of drinking on a daily basis. I figured for sure I was a legitimate alcoholic. After all, in the past 20 years I think I may have missed a total of maybe 5 or 6 days. For some strange reason about a month ago...just didn't feel like drinking. I was expecting the DT's, sleeplesness, irritability...SOMETHING! Oh Hell no! I sleep great, feel fine and don't even crave it. I feel kind of ripped off! All the time, effort and money I dumped into alcoholism, I figured for sure I would have an excuse for the things I haven't done with my life...but NOOOOOOOOOO! It is like I never even drank. Hell, I went out with a friend last weekend and had a few mixed drinks after a full month without and didn't even get a buzz. Drats! (don't harp on me about the random relative or friend who is an alcoholic...apparently we all have our problems) Anyway....looks like I am gonna be saving $6-$14 a day.....not sure what I am gonna blow the money on.....(I know for sure I ain't gonna waste it in my damned 401k or Roth IRA...those cursed things hemorrage money at about 6% per period.) Any suggestions on how to waste $ on a daily basis? Krupa, your mind and body are on the same page...it's a good thing. Besides, don't worry, alchohol will still be there if you change your mind. throw that money in a jar daily, and see what it adds up to at the end of the week or month or year...
