Should we do liver surgery on people who have drunk alcohol?

Doesn't much matter any way. The five year survival rate for lung cancer is between 10-15%

the argument is if you choose to partake in something proven to cause a disease, how can you expect to be given free treatment. i dont know if its paid for by the suffarer in the states but here, its paid for by tax money

tax money was also used for the £10 million anti smokeing advertisement campaign

if you think its a stupid question Griffin, then thats your opinion

So lonestar, your profile says you smoke "occasionally". IF you were to get lung cancer, would you feel you should be treated?

Of course we should.

seeing that the money spent comes from tax revenue, and buying cigs contributes greatly to tax revenue I should think so - to not do so would be hypocrisy

i read it all. and it was senseless both times.. what if the person was a smoker then quit . developed the cancer would you only work on part of the cancer, none.. or all.. there is no distinction .. i think you carry it a bit far and a little simplistic..bigsmile

Maybe the question doesn't even apply...there is no government health care program here. So some one who is sick has health insurance, pays out of pocket or goes without..
