Bearsman that's awesome!!!!! I like how someone said to remember to use your tools. Last wknd I had several of my friends over for lunch and said "I need your support!!!!!" "HELP" and it's worked out that one of them have called me every single day. We all live quite a dist. so it's hard.....but ONLY A PHONE CALL AWAY!!!! I've had to scream out to let them know how bad it is...and how bad the temptation is......and it was extremely humbling.....but they're proving to me that they are truly my friends.happy bigsmile

One of the little sayings that I remember from treatment is the sign that read, "You are either part of the problem or part of te solution." It reminds me of the 180 turn that is mentioned in the Big Book of AA. When we add our little amendments when someone is reading through what used to be the white pages of NA and they talk of Honesty, Openminded and Willingness and how that spells 'HOW" I like to add that is spells 'WOH' if you are dislexic because it reminds me of 180 turn. I guess it would spell 'WHO' if you look at it as Willingness, Honesty and Openmindedness. What ever way you look at it it works for me.flowerforyou

I guess you could look at it as it spelling OWH if you look at from Openmindness, Wilingness and Honesty. It did hurt for a while before I came into the program.

I think Drug Court is a wonderful thing and has given us new comers that we wouldn't have had, otherwise. At first it seemed just like our usual new comers that came just to get their paper signed. But really Drug Court has dynamically changed our meetings. One of members just successfully made it through the two year obligation. She is like a celebrity two us since she is the first we have to make it through the rigorous demands of Drug Court. Through some of ghastly stories told by other members it certainly a honor to be able to survive Drug Court and all that it expects of addicts to endure. I was glad that she chose anonomity because her family has went through enough because of Drug Court. At a meeting where one addict had to vent of her frustrations of having had to endure the rigors of Drug Court she shared with us the way addicts have to measure up to the indignities of the law. Fortunately, she was given an apology by one of the cops. She came to do her UA and was ready to give a sample and was trying to hold her bladder without wetting herself and was told to sit down. It angered her because she was told to be ready and when she came ready she was put on hold. Some addicts have wondered if it is better to go through the indignities of Drug Court or just take the jail time.
