Vera is back! Season 11, 2 episodes so far. I just watched the 1st, length of 2 episodes. It was good! I believe it was season 10 that I didn't like at all. If memory serves there was an ongoing story throughout all episodes. It got really boring and longwinded.
But so far this one was good!

2 interesting options (movies) from this year:

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf

SAS: Red Notice - story by Andy McNab!! Now that should be good! I read some of his books, loved them!
I did not know: Sam Heughan is in this movie!! (Jamie from Outlander). love

SAS: Red Notice is very much worth the watch!
And nice to see Sam Heughan in a totally different role.

Beckett 2021
Good movie!!! A guy and his girl are on holiday in Greece, get involved in an accident and then all hell breaks lose and he doesn't know why.
As a viewer you don't know either until a bit further into the movie. Some conversations he hears are in Greek, no subs, which is the whole idea as he doesn't know what they're talking about or what's going on either.

Eventually it all does come together. Well worth the watch, it kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through which isn't always the case.

Prey - 2021
Another good movie!
Five guys go hiking and suddenly there's a shot that hits very close to them. They think it's accidental, but it turns out to be different.

German movie but very doable with subs. I think also because the movie is so captivating.

Fate: The Winx Saga - 2021 - tv series - 1 season so far.

This one is right up my alley! Magick, the Other World, Fairies who practise magick, Specialists who are the first line of defence against less pleasant forces. These unpleasant forces of course are part of the series.

The fairies don't look like your Walt Disney version, don't have wings either. Just normal looking, wearing normal clothes.
So far I like the series. It's better than I had anticipated.

All I can say is that Fate: The Winx Saga is very much worth watching!
The way everything unfolds and growth etc. I love it!
And the good news... it has been renewed. Season 2 will likely air in January 2022.

The Pembrokeshire Murders - Mini series - 2021 - Rating 7,10 and worth it for sure!
Based on true story of Welsh serial killer. 3 parter, wither Luke Evans.

Found another one yesterday that is really good: Hit & Run - 2021 - series - US & Israel.

The lingo is both English and Hebrew, I think about 50-50 but the series, story, cast, acting is so damned good it's not a problem having to read subs at all.
Just that you have to hit 'pause' when you're going to get a cup of coffee or something if you don't want to miss what's going on.

Rating 7,10 and very much worth that!

The wife of the main character is victim of a hit & run but soon after her husband Segev finds out that a number of things do not add up and he starts investigating what the hell is going on.

Incredibly intriguing!

Kung Fu - 2021 - tv series. Most of these series are Netflix btw.
Looks very promising. Rating is only 5,3 but with this genre that should be ignored and you should form your own opinion. Many don't like martial arts then still watch this and give a very low rating.
And there will be a whole lot that compare it with the old Kung Fu from the 70s which is also stupid. You got to take and judge both on their own merits.

I like the story. Like I said, very promising!

It has been renewed for a 2nd season.

Hi Tom! Hope you're doing a wee bit better already. Don't watch movies that make you laugh though!

Man VS Bigfoot was actually better than I expected.

The Protege was pretty good

Malignant was pretty good.

Didn't really care about Escape Room 2: Tournament of Champions and I thought Prisoners of the Ghostland and Outlaw's Buckle Sucked.

Kung Fu - 2021 is more for a very young audience.
It had a helluva lot of promise, a good story to bounce off of, but they kill it with loads of drama. A controlling, nasty mother, a demanding sister, and so on, and the main character not telling them to take a hike and leave her be.

I am seriously allergic to drama. A shame they ruined a potentially good thing as I am curious how it will all go, the story, not the drama chit.

Good news: Into the Night season 2 is out!!

The Nightingale - 2019 - a very good movie, but makes sure you prepare for the injustice, it's not for the faint of heart.

The young Irish woman is hoping to get her papers from this British lieutenant so she and her husband and baby can leave. But he's been raping her ever since her baby was born and he's not keen on losing his easy prey.

So... there are several rape scenes, it almost starts with that, and I clicked past the next 2 as I couldn't bear it anymore.
The way you see the English b@st@rds treat the Aboriginals makes my blood boil as well. Unfortunately this is real history and how things went.
That's why I said: not for the faint of heart.

In 1825, Claire, a 21-year-old Irish convict, chases a British soldier through the rugged Tasmanian wilderness, bent on revenge for a terrible act of violence he committed against her family. She enlists the services of an Aboriginal tracker named Billy, who is also marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past.
