FINALLY found a series worth watching, Barbarians. - 2020 and 7,2 rating

It's on the Germanic tribes and the Romans.
Really interesting, I love history and stuff to do with the Romans. And the Germanic tribes were difficult for the Romans to subdue.
Roman tribes were also the ones to -a few centuries later- attack the European parts of the Roman empire until there wasn't much left of it.

The houses and villages are built really well, the way they were then, and the Germanics speak German, the Romans Italian. I read a review a few weeks back saying that it was done well, but not the old German, which makes sense as no one would understand.
Just now I read a review saying it was dubbed in English, me thinking, "What are you watching?" It's in German & Italian.
So the provided subs are needed and in this case I do not mind at all!

Anywho... recommended for sure!

I must've mentioned "See" before, with Jason Momoa.
Currently watching the 1st season again as the 2nd has finally started and I want to refresh my memory before I get into the new episodes!

The Reef 2010 - Shark movie - 5,8 rating

I stumbled upon it, never heard of it before. I liked it. The shrieking women were nerve-wrecking, but I can understand considering the situation.
Good movie, worth the watch for sure!
I'd rate it higher, more a 7.

The film is based on the true story of Ray Boundy.

Gunpowder Milkshake (2021) k gillan l headey m yeoh c gugino 6.8 assassins guild
Story about a girl born into an assassins guild and abandoned by her mom. She joins with an all female assassin support group when she is targeted for a hit. The women work together to fight a huge force of mob assassins and the mysterious kingpin calling the shots. Lots and lots of gun play and woman bonding moments. Cool movie.

The Tomorrow War (2021) c pratt y strahovski jk simmons b gilpin 7.3 future alien invasion
A man is drafted to be sent forward in time to help fight an alien invasion. The alien creatures are cool looking and seriously dangerous. They are white.
Lots of action, devastated Earth and blown out cities. Just the right amount of drama between the action. Great movie!

Occupation Rainfall: Chapter 1 (2020) d ewing t morrison d gillies 6.8 alien occupation battles
The film picks up where the first one left off. The greys have decimated the population and this story is about a group of survivors in Sydney trying to survive in shelters with a handful of aliens which are sympathetic to the humans. The main mission is a small group traveling over land to a US base looking for a rumored secret weapon. Lots of alien-human war action, survival action and impending threat. The end suggests a third movie in the series is planned. Started watching and was 'meh' then it caught my eye and sucked it out of my head. Good movie.

Rewatched Ninja (2009)
Directed by Isaac Florentine. With Scott Adkins, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Mika Hijii, Todd Jensen.
Still a good ninja movie with lots of action.
I watched it on youtube in its entirety.

@ Tom, thanks for the suggestions
I am watching Gunpowder Milkshake, not finished it yet, it's getting too late.

What an odd movie. Odd in the same sense as Kill Bill I think. An odd title, I would never have chosen it because of the title. Also an odd mix of cast, at first I'd thought they'd all be working as assassins but it's only Karen Gillan. I can never make up my mind about her; do I like her, do I not? Typical aura she has.

But... so far it's an interesting movie for sure! I'll watch the rest tomorrow :)

Karen Gillan. I can never make up my mind about her; do I like her, do I not?

Some films she is in...

The Call of the Wild
As Mercedes

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Jumanji: The Next Level
As Ruby Roundhouse

Avengers: Endgame
Avengers: Infinity War
Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (pre-production)
As Nebula

Stuber
As Sara Morris

Alex & The List
As Lily

The Circle
As Annie

In a Valley of Violence
As Ellen

Fun Size Horror: Volume Two
As Rachel Milligan (segment "Conventional")

7 Days in Hell (TV Movie)
As Lily Allsworth

Oculus
As Kaylie Russell

Also a bunch of Dr Who shows
as Amy Pond / Soothsayer

Gunpowder Milkshake was a surprise for me. Kinda like Nobody.
Started watching, got distracted then a scene sucks my eyes out and holds me.
With all the crappy movies I watch lately when a movie can do that, to me, its a good one.

Last night I watched a bunch of old movies.
Spectral (one of Netflix's best, great concept and execution)
Tenet (still strikes me as pure fantasy)
Stung (for a syfy type creature feature pretty good)
plus about 4 new ones I couldn't finish (2 I shut off before 5 minutes; the other two lasted about 15 minutes)

Karen Gillan... I think the Dr Who thing was her first real acting thing.
And she vibed really well with Matt Smith. But still I had that odd feeling about her. It's as if she exudes no real persona or something.
Lack of warmth and compassion maybe? I've got the same thing with Kate Middleton.

I did like her in the Jumanji movies. It was a pleasant surprise :)

Yeah, I sense that too.
Still, she does a fine job in the roles I've seen her play.
Perhaps its her acting style or gimmick?
I do like her range of characters.
Ruby Roundhouse was completely different than Nebula and Mercedes was something else.
It almost seems like she is looking to be a character actor with a wide range of personas instead on stamping herself with a type?

I just played Robinson Crusoe on Mars while I was working on my forum (small window). Ain't seen that in awhile! I was working on the scifi & fantasy section. One stream I had to fix was The Dark Tower (2017), that falls in the scope of this thread. I read (https://www.scifi-movies.com/en/) there might be a sequel called Gunslinger (In Development) directed by Jonah Loop for 2B Pictures & Future Films. No other info on it...yet.
