Legion -- the 1st season is phenomenal, an absolute mind trip

Gotham -- well done prequel series chronicling the rise of Jim Gordon and the supervillains Batman will eventually face

Arrow -- gets a bit dull and quirky at times because of the relationships, but it's all about the evolution of the Green Arrow

Sherlock -- on hiatus for now, but this series has made Benedict Cumberbatch a star while lifting Martin Freeman out of a somewhat obscure career

Wonder Woman -- this is THE movie that DC should be building around, perhaps the best of the DC movies outside of the Batman series thus far

Mazerunner -- not a big fan of the sequel, but the first movie was an interesting adaptation of the Lord of the Flies concepts

Aeon Flux -- based on the t.v. series, starring Charlize Theron, it's a good adaptation of the dystopian story

I'm sure there are plenty I'm forgetting. I would need to check my more recent DVDs.

Oh, one I did forget...

Battlestar Galactica -- the rebooted series with Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, and Lucy Lawless

^^^ that's a series I could watch over and over again, so much to take in

Number of those are based on comic books, which I really don't like.
@ Wonder Woman movie -which I only watch cos I'd run out of things to watch- started epic, but then got into this typical comic book BS real soon.

I'm not into that stuff. I think you gotta be either male or American to appreciate it.
Maybe it's fun if you know the comic books or read them as a kid.

@ Sherlock was/is a great series for sure. Very unusual, and Benedict is a very gifted actor. I loved him in that Star Trek movie!

@ Mazerunner - like you say, first movie was okay but not intriguing enough to want to watch more of that.

I just read that "The Dark Tower" movie wasn't a hit? I cannot believe that! I had SO hoped to get a sequel to that one. I thought it was one of the best movies of last year!

To add to my list of series:
- Manifest - only 2 eps so far, but it is very promising! Love the concept.
- New Amsterdam (hospital series)
- 9-1-1 I am totally love this series!
- Rain (not sure if that was in my first list), stunning concept, love it!
- FBI, series via Global

Oh, and "Designated Survivor" is renewed via Netflix, YEEHAAA!

The Last Kingdom -- based on the times of King Alfred, began on BBC but now picked up by one of the cable networks

The Hitman's Bodyguard -- Ryan Reynolds paired with Samuel L. Jackson

Gold -- Matthew McConaughey as a down on his luck prospector

Cool!
I am following the Last Kingdom, waiting for the new season to be aired.
Shame it's not BBC anymore :( But I guess it's too expensive for them. Just that quality tends suffers when it's taken from British hands, and it gets a different vibe.
Also been a long time since last season, I can barely remember the storyline anymore. Had the same problem with GoT, which is why I stopped watching it.

The other two I don't know, going to look into them :)

Still happy with the list of streaming sites that you gave me, Tom. Has helped me out a number of times :)

Thank you! I'll have a look at Dark Matter. Continuum I did watch for a bit when it first came out, but I didn't like it all that much.

I'm a big fan of Westworld, on HBO Now. It's essentially a science-fiction mystery action adventure series. Very well executed, with lots of very good actors.

I loved the series 'Deadwood'---as in Deadwood, SD
Mixes fictional elements with historical truths.
Ian McShane was great in it.
Also (among other great actors) starred Timothy Olyphant who went on to star in Justified.

Might have to revisit it this winter~

it's more a thriller than action but look into "Identity", you may like it even for the the list of top name actors and actresses

I don't think anyone has mentioned it, and having watched season 1, I'm surprised:
- Salvation.

I love it!

I know this is a month old but can't believe no one mentioned my all time favorite TV series:
HELL ON WHEELS
AMC just a few yrs ago. Very historically correct, they had a story to tell and did it in 5 seasons, wasn't cancelled or any of that BS the story ended. Mostly took place right here where I now live in Nebraska but was filmed north of Calgary.
EXCELLENT!

Found a new one, from last year:
The Protector (2018)

It's a Turkish series that is a bit like Assassin's Creed, although not with the going back in time stuff. I've seen a few episodes and so far I really really like it!
First time something captivates me and I can actually focus on a series again :)
It's on Netflix when in the US.

I just watched a Tv series 'The Code" that was on Austrailian Tv - really suspenseful & engrossing amazing well written (for tv) and well acted. Cinematography was really good.

I like Liam Neeson as well! Seen the Taken movies, watched the 1st season of the series too.
The series you mention aren't my thing. I followed the Blacklist for a number of seasons, but at some point I felt it lost it's power.
I believe I tried SWAT, didn't like it. I do like Seal Team, did like The Brave even more, but unfortunately that got canceled after season 1.
