Has absolutely nothing to do with a possession, nor does it take any free will away. A possession consists of someone being totally taken control by a demon. Basically turning you into a sock or a glove. The glove *you* has absolutely no control of what the hand *the demon* does. You allowing the holy spirit into you isn't a possession, for it is still you that is doing your actions. The holy spirit works with your conscience. Teaches you and informs you what is right and or what is wrong. You're conscience has no absolute control over your actions.

If you choose to accept the Spirit into your life and turn your life over to Him you are not loosing Free Will. You are allowing the Spirit to guide you.

anytime you turn over anything to another you give them the "Will" and in the case of "turning over you life to another" you in turn turn over your "Free Will"

the religious will always claim that Man do not have the knowledge to comprehend God so why now try to claim that you somehow know that it's the holy spirit in you....that would be arrogance....and arrogance supposedly belongs to Satan.....this is why you more than likely have a member of Satan's legion in you and not the holy spirit

I don't know that there is any logical test you can make to verify if it is a demon or the Spirit. But you can test the Spirit with Scripture and you are supposed to test the Spirit with scripture.

There have been a few movies made on this subject on mistakenly following the wrong spirit. It can happen.

I would say if you aren't sure, you should not let it in. Better to be safe than sorry.

But if a person relies upon their own wit, they will be outsmarted by Satan every time. Doesn't matter how clever you are. That is why you need to know scripture.

Satan is the father of lies. He will never lie directly to you. He will give you a twisted truth. When you accept that then he will give you another that branches off the first. He is very cunning and deceptive. And if we only rely on ourselves, we will fail all the time. His greatest trick is making us think we are so clever that we have accomplished all we have on our own and we don't need God.

actually you got it backwards...Satan power lies in telling the truth which is why trying to outwit Satan would mean you would be resorting to telling lies and outwitting oneself and that is how a demon can get into you

the bible was given to you for a reason so that you can use it and your faith against Satan ....if you use these tools then it's no need to allow anything to enter into you ....wouldn't only those that lacked faith allow this

but anyway here's an example of how Satan power lies in telling the truth.......I'm not saying that Satan would do this...but what if Satan went up to a child and said sex is when a Man places his penis into the vagina of a woman ...what did he just give to the child....evil, truth or knowledge?

Nobody has direct control over their conscience. You don't choose what to feel bad about, you don't choose what to feel guilty about. Just happens. That is your conscience. Yes your conscience is tied in subconsciously, but you don't have total control of your conscience.

Satan only tells the whole truth when it serves his purpose. His purpose is to always mislead and confuse and steer you away from God and His Salvation. Knowledge in and of itself is not evil as you are implying.

The only way to fight Satan is with Truth. The Truth in scripture. Lying is Satan's tool. Don't know why you are arguing it isn't. That makes no sense at all... Like I said, his lies are very cunningly hidden. They can appear to be truth very easily.

Yes one does allow the holy spirit in. One, invites the holy spirit in. The holy spirit will not reside in you less invited. A demon possession does it forcibly weather you wish for it or not.
