Hey figured I'd stir the pot

What does it matter to anyone whether a person is born gay or not? How does it affect you and in which way?

The title alone had me laughing, and couldn't even make it through the first few blurbs of the article before I was about rolling out of my chair. Gay have any rights to my kids in any way shape or form???? Oh HELL NO. NOBODY DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, yet another example of how the militant gays are becoming nothing more than hissy bullies. I pay about as much heed to ANYTHING that comes out of them as I do to what the illegals want.

You would have to wake the dead.. grin!

Funny not one of my neighbors has asked how I got to be gay, and also funny that not one of them has gotten a divorce or had any problems because I am gay, born or chosen.

I'd like to agree with the other side on this just to end the whole issue, but I can't. I always thought the GLBT was a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich, that someone didn't get the abbreviation right..

I don't know what tactics are being used and frankly I have just never cared, there's an advantage of letting people get to know you in every day real life that seems to have more affect.

First, I am the one that let's people know immediately that I am gay, that way I avoid the endless familiar questions, you know, are you married and the other questions people ask that either force you to lie or to get it over with. Though there are occasions where I let people get to know me first, either way it seems when you demand respect you get it in most cases. I have never had people say to my face what some feel easy to say in here. Good thing too, most likely I would not handle it quite as well as when I have time to think.

It's hard not to notice the tactics used by some to demean and dismiss gays because it's always in one's face, in forums, on the news, everywhere but in real life it seems. I never run into activists on either side, thankfully, cuz I would probably loose my mind.

I notice here too, for those that complain we are in your face, it's the straight folks that more often bring up the topic.

No matter what tactic either side uses, people change their minds when they gain experience, more so than being forced to take a side.

I think I said that right..

Now you have me cracking up.. Wow this is so much fun.

Funny and it's more often the straight hissy bullies that start the arguments in the first place.. Funny stuff. Believe me most gays pay about as much attention to the hissy bullies on the other side.

Hissy Bullies, that's cute, will have to remember that one.

I think we should each live our lives, live in our own skin and live in harmony.

Why can't we all just get along? It doesn't help me sleep any better to know if my neighbor is straight or not.

Rather the world focus on things to improve the quality of life and not BS that is none of my business as anothers sexuality.

Personally I like that attitude, but then would you suggest we not fight for equality. Serious question, not being smarta$$ed.flowerforyou

If you feel you are being oppressed by all means fight, go for yours.

What type of equality are you really after? What do you want to do, be able to do that you cannot right now? Please be specific (and no I'm not being a smarta$$ either).

The only way one can feel inferior to another is when one allows it (jmo)

On a personal level I agree with you, no one can make you feel inferior, that doesn't mean that society itself can't leave that impression every way it can, which doesn't help.

If I wanted something from society, which right this minute I do not, I would say only what you take for granted each day of your life. Nothing more. I would ask for nothing special, as some would have others believe.

As for being specific, I really don't have the time to list all the things, but I can look them up if you like and copy and paste them. The are a list of things you already have as a citizen that I do not.

Again I can live out the rest of my life with no favors from society, just hoping I am never in a position where those rights you have are not applied to me in a circumstance beyond my control.

Impressions are like interpretations, up to each individual jmo

I don't take things for granted, I am humbled and grateful for what I have in my means and my reach.

I already stand apart, I already express my opinion..do you have any idea how many times in my life I have had to repeat myself in the last 35 years? I rarely copy and paste, this time I say you guys look it up for a change, it's rarely believed even when I type it all myself, in here I notice so much bad information, and the fact that few care enough to listen or look it up to even find out if the information is correct, after a while it gets old being asked that standard question that everyone should know the answer to by now, hell we have been fighting for equal rights for over 30 years.
I'll let the younger generation deal with the lack of interest today and the bad information out there as given by people with an issue with gays, they have the energy and more patience than I do at this point..
yawn

Question: for the heck of it, how exactly did you earn your right to be married legally?

You can't handle the answer.
Marriage has its roots as a religous institution!

You know Adam and Eve!

Which makes it not legimate in our constitution. Separation of church and state.

That still doesn't show how heterosexuals EARNED their right to marry legally.

dragoness....quiet has shown that separation of church and state isn't in the constitution (if I remember correctly) but there are many religions that don't agree with it and there are people in those same religions that don't have a problem with it.

what?

1. trisexual

One who is attracted to men, women, and horses. Often a person who has failed with both genders opts to be a trisexual so that they can make love to a horse while also being able to date if the time ever comes. Bestiality and bisexuality in one ugly mesh.
Trisexual:

I loves my man.
I loves my woo-man.
I loves my horse.

this has to be a joke.
