It wasn't so long ago that sports, beauty contests, politics, schools and all sorts of institutions were closed to anyone outside the mainstream.

I find it immensely entertaining that those who now claim to be on Christian higher moral ground are outraged because they are not the exclusive holders of that prized territory they carved out and excluded others from whether it be in a beauty contest, a church, a town square, a television screen...where ever.

At 6 mo. old, was Christened, Methodist.
Been Baptized 5 times, Southern Baptist.
The last time, the preacher told the congregation,"It might work this time, if we hold him under just a while longer."

I think they already held you under too long... grin! Just a little early morning humor. I was baptised a catholic against my will as far as I am concerned. No one should be baptised into anything before they can fully understand what it means. JMO

The Bible, or any "religious" tome, teaches basic fundamentals that I choose to follow, or not, by choice, every day.

I will not "battle" religious belief with anyone. I will listen to your beliefs and state mine if asked, but I will NOT argue who is right or wrong. My reason; to "argue" such things is a non-constructive infringement into personal rights. Debatable, yes, argumentitive, no. If your dedication to a belief means you have to think my beliefs are wrong, then I choose to question them, but I will defend them as your freedom.

This is the basic argument of "separation of church and state". To dictate the belief of an individual or group of people as right or wrong, is a self proclomation of "God-like" imperialism, and is by its very nature, WRONG!
