I would be glad that it is only pot and not any serious drug such as crack or crystal meth. Pot is not gonna kill you or make you crazy insane. It isn't gonna make you go rob someone to support your habit either. If anything it will make you lazy, sleepy, and hungry. I use to smoke pot in high school and I was a honor roll student who held a job and graduated. Now I do believe in Responsible use, and laws like no DUI, and prohibit the sale to minors like tobacco. Other than that I think it should be 100% legal, for adults and medicinal purpose of course. I had a uncle who was dying from cancer, and the marijuana prescribed to him use to alleviate the pains that come from chemo therapy. I'm not saying it's good for everyone. Maybe some people do have allergies or bad reactions to pot, just like some people are allergic to shellfish or peanuts. And I don't believe in sending potheads to jail. Our prisons are way overcrowded already, and we need the space for real criminals such as murderers and child molesters and such. Sending drug users to rehab is a much better idea.

I probably won't be on much since I'm not feeling well, but I wanted to say this...I know there are other points, but as of right now I can't think straight. but keep in mind that we aren't talking about an adults...we are talking about kids. 1. addictions[/b - an addiction doesn't have to be chemically based. it could be mental...such as food, exercise, dieting, having to HAVE something to relax you (alcohol, drugs) whether it's on a regular basis or not. I don't want my child to use things as a crutch. My brother in law used to think he HAD to smoke a joint to sleep. that is an addiction ad·dict 1 : to devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively <addicted to gambling> 2 : to cause addiction to a substance in (a person or animal) 2. gateway drug - this doesn't have to be because the drug is chemically addictive. I know people who thought "I could handle pot and it gave me a buzz...let's see how the others feel" or "pot isn't doing the job anymore so I need something more." Does this happen to everyone???? no. just like alcohol doesn't make everyone an alcoholic or go into heavier things either. for some pot or alcohol does. 3. natural - I have heard the argument how pot is natural so it should be ok. Lager is made from natural ingredients, as well. what about shrooms??? poppy seeds??? not to mention not everything in nature is good for us. 4. smoke - pot burns hotter than nicotine 5. ability - pot DOES slow the bodies responses 6. affects - pot, like other drugs and alcohol...or most anything in life, affects people differently. just because someone maybe ok on pot, doesn't mean the next person would be. my sister and I can't smoke it. Our muscles tighten up so bad it hurts and my sister hallucinates. My neighbor gets paranoid and stalks people. it depends on the person. Shrooms grow off poop!

well i copy and pasted this from the pot conversations below me... and not that i can understand that part of "you lot seem to thick to read".....but that is a direct hit. so read on catshit...   i will say what i said before...it was long ago....should i remember where the stuff came from, and what they put on it...i think not...  then another experience was in san diego where pot cookies were the rage...i ate a few...and was goofy like those out there that r trying to tell us pot helps our brain cells. so smoke on...

I will smoke on, and am glad people like you don't smoke...because inevitably it is people like that over-indulged in marijuana that give those of us that enjoy it responsibly a bad name. |

There are more kids in my school system that have been ratted on or kicked out for cocain, heroin, and salvia than pot. The pot kids cant stand to be around those other kids...they are trouble makers and doing breakins to support their ever growing habits. The pot kids come to school every day, and actually pass tests the others dont even show for. Aside from skippin lunch for a quick puff in the woods...these kids are even left alone by the local police...as they cause no damage to the public parks and are "family"concious of other park goers and young children. At their ages I find that responcible of them. I ask questions of my kids friends...they are not interested in the "harder drugs" because they have already seen what happened to some of their old friends. Drinking is a givin...95% of kids will try alcohol..we all did. The trick to that is to have them drink w/you at home. That way you can give them a good taste of everything in a short time. That will make them soooo sick they wont want to drink again..

I heard of a doctor around here that recommended weed for bladder and kidney infections. And period cramps.
But that might just be some bullshyt I heard from someone. Works for cramps though

Works for cramps though Saying that pot helps bladder and kidney infections would be terrible for a doctor to say. Those people need antibiotics. People with kidney infections sometimes need to be hospitalized. They could damage their kidneys if they don't take care of it. |

Talk to him or her in hope they will listen to you as so many of them do not reason with parents and teachers . Drugs destroyed too many people so you have to it very seriously .

I smoked and was an honor roll student as well, and graduated with multiple honors, such as community service and capt honor roll. You are one of the few. Congratulations on doing so well. I have known many others who didn't do as well as you when using pot and/or other drugs. When my ex smoked it, he ended up blacking out and choking me, I had fingerprint bruises on my neck the next day. Funny too, I didn't say a word to him, he just walked across the room and grabbed me by the throat. Had a totally empty look in his eyes, "no one was home" obviously. I was able to push him off and he stumbled backwards and just walked away and went over to the couch and fell asleep. It was totally bizarre. I don't like drugs of any kind, never have. My experience with them and my daughter are in the earlier pages in this thread. To each their own, but I don't like them and choose to be drug-free. |
