your definition of a Pantheist is not different ...because if it is you wouldn't be describing a Pantheist ...

whatrofl
"Skyhook" I'm still waiting on your definition of a Pantheist
You already know what it is.

yes...Skyhook"....it's the same as my definition ..Pantheist worship the anarchical version of their previous or childhood god and/or worship themselves as God

Okay never mind funch, carry on. flowerforyou

"Krimsa" the site has parameters the moderators have their parameters and you wish to create more parameters ...seems like you have a control issue going on there my friend

So now you are simply trying to draw me back into the "debate" after I clearly expressed my desire to bow out of this? By parameters Funch I am referring to certain debate constrictions. In fact all that I would request of you is that you READ what I or anyone else is actually trying to say before responding. So far, I have yet to see this occur. This is the reason I choose to no longer discuss either the OP or the Deist representation in Congress.

"Krimsa" that you wanted to discuss the deist representation in Congress in the first place was you going off topic and not keeping within the parameters ...

sometimes the debate goes off topic which could lead to new concepts to enhance the discussion ...your suggestion about setting more parameters that have already been set by the moderators will just only further restrict the flow of knowledge

That is an inaccurate account of what actually occurred. The entire Deist representation in Congress debate was initially brought in because of your argument over why in fact it says "In God We Trust" on American currency. Anyone can go back and see that written in black and white Funch. Once again, incorrect.

I think this thread could be answered by showing someone who believes this . . .

I mean why not? People believe a lot of stuff that is rubbish in my mind.

I think it would be great to have someone really take this argument and run with it.

Id be like soooooo, you think the big bang is something to be worshiped?

Do you think that if you pray hard enough to the big bang then you will get a pay raise?

What about penance? Do you have to toss cash into micro black holes as a tithe?

Is it necessary Every year to celebrate the big bangs birth day?

What would it mean to worship something like a singularity?

Oh funches, on that note, the Big Bang also doesn't state that you will go to hell if you dont believe in it. Nor will a black hole open in your kitchen and swallow you up.

I said they can call themselves deists or pantheist but they were still under the influence of the christian god ...you never said where they got their concept of god from and I said it was from christianity ...that is why you "Krisma" and Thomas jefferson celebrate christmas ..because of the biblical god not because of Rah or Allah but because of Yahweh

once again "Bushidobillyclub" you are off the concept of the original post ...I said that people treat the "One Singularity as a substitute for god in order to replace the one they had before they turned to science...not that they pray to it but to make then content

"Krisma" that's the point I'm trying to make...people fed up withh the threats of hell or whatever tend to splinter from the religion ..some turn to deist aka new age some wash their hands of all of it and turn to science...but because of their sunday school programming they need a god for contentment and the "One Singularity" of the big bang supplies that god for them

But they did not call themselves Christians, nor Pantheists, they called themselves Deists which are not Christians or Pantheists.

If you scroll back I explained to you the origins of Yule and that Christmas is in fact a Pagan holiday that was absorbed and adopted by the Christians back in the 4th century. Thomas Jefferson and I are both not Christians yet we both might have chosen to celebrate Christmas or Yule or both for the same reasons. Its fun and festive.

That statement you keep making is ridiculous. Primarily because it implies that the concept of a God (and presumably a Goddess) can ONLY be Christian in origin. Thats ridiculous. Christianity is around 2000 years old. Paganism has existed since the Neolithic.

"Krimsa" and "Einstein" called himself a pacifist but yet created the equation for the government to create a device that could destroy the world

which means just because someone claims to be something you have to watch their actions to see someone close to the person's true self

so Jefferson can call himself a deist as he celebrate christmas and the birth of Jesus which links Jefferson to the bilical god yahweh

Except that Einstein did not necessarily know what would become of his theory. Or all of the applications it could potentially be used for. Are you suggesting that we would have been better off without Albert Einstein's existence?

I did watch Jefferson's actions and his words as written on both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and that is what I am basing my statment that he was not a Christian on.

Celebrating Christmas/Yule does not automatically link someone with anything. That is a wild and baseless assertion on your part.

As noted, we understand that 6 were Deists. It just so happens that those 6 were the higher profile members of Congress. Some of them were Christians also. I have never argued that point. They were colonists Funches.

I'm saying that "Einstein" called himself a pacifist and clearly wasn't ...also as for "Einstein" not realizing what he was creating...then that would make him an idiot savant not a genius

I did watch Jefferson's actions and his words as written on both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and that is what I am basing my statment that he was not a Christian on.

you keep harping on Jefferson words as I harp on his actions ...the man was celebrating the birth of christ ...

so tell me "Krimsa" besides christmas what other religious hoilday from other faiths do you and jefferson celebrate besides the christmas linked to christianity
