Some of them really like to talk. Just wait till they stop talking and then say, "Are we there, yet?" Works for Bart Simpson.

I just talked to Jesus. He says he doesn't understand women either.

don't do that! some women are very hesitant to meet guys that they talk to online. It's one thing to talk and a whole other to meet in person. Some women may feel like that one more conversation will help them decide, while others are like "he may find out that I lied about everything I've ever said to him!!!" tears

You just have to weed out the slackers and wait for your winner. Who knows? They may be doing you a favor. You could meet them and find out that it was the worst date of your life. or maybe not...but most likely the former laugh

i met a guy in person after talking for over a year. bad idea. he was a jerk.

i met a guy in person after talking for a few months. bad idea. he was a jerk.

i met a couple of guys in person after talking for a week. bad idea. they were jerks.

in short, it doesn't really matter how long you wait, it's up to you, whatever feels right or safe. if you're really eager for face time, maybe internet dating isn't for you? maybe you should try bars/clubs/schools/churches whatever, so there's no wait? Just a thought, good luck. drinker

I'll give you a little hint.

The more you push about meeting them, the more wary they are going to be.

Wake up dude. It's the internet in the 21st century. Do you not watch the news or read the papers about all the women who get kidnapped/killed/ or disappear without a trace???

If I had not dated anyone from online, especially from here, I would not say this...

If you enjoy their company online, keep it online. If they suggest taking it offline, then there you either accept it or lose it.

If a date goes south, it's what it is.
They have options, too.
They've got access to guys at other sites, and also via email here, without chatting in forums about what went on.

Be discreet.drinker

I thought the whole point of being here was to meet in person. If they don't want to meet after exchanging a couple emails personally I would lose interest.

Also please don't call me Jesus, I'm trying to be incognito.

move on.

these girls obviously have trust issues, and arent ready for a serious relationship. better to hurt a little now, and find someone else sooner. then to delay this and hurt a lot later, and still not have anyone.

I've been here almost 2 years and still haven't found anyone to talk to....!

This is why Thomas Edison invented the phrase "Pull the plug"....

I would put a cap on the talking. You can talk till you are blue in the face but nothing takes the place of face to face. Then you can tell real fast if there are any sparks. Frankly, if I really find a guy interesting I want to meet him sooner rather than later. I would be wary of girls that are actually already involved, I have had that experience.

some people get on here and meet people left and right and have a great time

some people get on here and sit all by themselves and never meet anyone and complain about it bitterly

I wonder what the difference is? Prolly the people themselves

I find it a little quick if someone wants to meet after one or two emails. Then again, I really haven't found anyone close by that I'd actually want to meet.
