Probably the most defining thing about my personality is that it's a mixture of traits that you might not expect to go together. I don't like to be just one kind of person. And to force myself into a pre-packaged box, no way.
I don't like something or go along with something just because it's popular or that it's what everyone else does. For example:
I think some women look great with hair. I don't necessarily mean on their heads.
I don't like a jealous or possessive relationship.
I don't watch the sports that most Americans watch. But I do follow a sport, I follow professional cycling.
I do not watch television.
I will not have kids, I will not get married.
I am about halfway through restoring my circised foreskin.
I look at a lot of but I have trouble finding that I like.
Many people in the forums of a different dating site pionately hate me because I believe that make-up does not make a woman more attractive. I don't like arguing but I don't apologize for being myself or having my own opinion.
Some other things about me:
I like hiking, cooking, watching movies, playing board games or card games, and I'm open to other things.
I play trumpet in the Ithaca Concert Band.
I think I'm moderately talkative. Some people are better at starting conversations that I am. Others are not talkative. I'm probably in the middle. I like conversation, but periods of quiet are alright too.
Some of my favorite music is the the Pet Shop Boys, Bryan Adams, Sade, AC/DC, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and The Beatles.
I like to read the National Geographic and books with similar subject matter. I read sporadically. I used to read novels, but I don't think I'm interested in fiction much anymore. I'm trying to remember to get back in the habit of reading since I seem to enjoy it.
Some of my favorite movies are the Naked Gun movies, Airplane, movies with Bill Murray, the Van Wilder movies, Star Trek, the Pink Panther movies.
I am artistic and creative but I don't get to use those traits and skills as much as I like, I'm hoping to use them more some day. I have college degrees in Graphic Design, from a school in Philadelphia, and Communications, from a school in Machusetts.
It has been suggested that I put something in my profile showing that I have a muscular body. ****, maybe I really do need to talk about my job situation a little more, and have a photo of me ripping my sweat-drenched shirt off. It's not glamorous in the financial sense, but I've been doing things like moving furniture, working on a tree farm, shoveling snow and carrying 50 pound bags of salt up and down sidewalks in the winter.
I'm looking for a cozy relationship that starts out as just platonic friends and develops into more at whatever pace and manner feels right for myself and my partner.
I will probably get along best with someone who is fiercely individual the way I am.
Basically I'd be interested in meeting any woman who is not one of the following:
pive
over 250 pounds
insecure about her body and under 200 pounds
a smoker
a feminist
a cosmo chick
a conservative Christian
