"At the station they told us that it wasn't reported stolen, it was just towed, when we reported it stolen TEN MINUTES earlier and tried to report it for half an hour. "

That's an interesting point. There is a time-lapse in there. During the intervening time between it was reported stolen and when they arrived at the station, someone from the station could easily have called the place it was towed from and found out they had it towed.

it wasn't towed from where the owner parked it. it was stolen, abandoned and towed. regardless if found or not...the theft needs to be in the report

I wonder (because I just plain don't know) if tow companies have to report "Hey, I'm moving this car from such-and-such place".

I can only speak from here....unless it's a repo....tow trucks work for the city. if a car is towed because of parking, abandoned etc....the police know because either they send them out or the tow companies let them know

Jim, no one here at JSH is disrespecting your father. If someone stole your car Jim, what should have been the first thing these young people should have done?

Filed a report throught the proper channels and call my insurance company.

I surely would not have been HATING cops because of it respecting the fact that they have more important things to do

You tell me you Hate Cops, I am going to be defensive...Sorry flowerforyou

I've been following this thread, your dad was injured badly in the line of duty. Being an officer was a risk your father undertook. I'm sorry, about what happened to your dad.

Yes, being a police officer is not an easy job, and it’s certainly a dangerous one. But that’s no reason to cop a hard-nosed attitude toward the public in general. On the contrary, when that kind of emotion become entangled with the job it’s time to retire and do something else with you life.

You just can’t hold the innocent public responsible for the actions of criminals. That’s only going to cause more people to become angry with authority figures. Generic anger doesn’t do anyone any good in the end.

right, exactly

I think it's funny how people are so upset at the "attitude" of the police...Go to Peru, or Argentina, take one step onto the stairs of their capital and you get a machine gun in your face, from the cops there.

How about the cops wanyted ONE call about the stolen car and not 15 from a bunch of hysterical kids.... I wouldn't be to "polite" after the first call or two either....

Yes, they do, but it goes into a bunch of departments, and it takes a bit... They have to report all towes where the owner is not there, otherwise they are in danger of grand theft.

When my car was stolen - First, the police found my car and called the towing company to tow my car to the city lot. Then the police called me to tell me where to find the car.

I can never walk in your shoes Jim. Everybody gets hit with tragedy. My dad was run over by steam roller when I was in 3rd grade, praying was the only thing that got me through it. Than again when he was taken with cancer. I can feel your pain.

There ARE GOOD and BAD in ALL PUBLIC SERVED OFFICIALS.

For ANYONE to SAY "THEY HATE ALL, is just insane to REALLY MEAN

THAT, One taxi driver, isn't ALL TAXI DRIVERS...

One bad doctor, does NOT make them ALL BAD???

So, with that, what is the BIG ISSUES of one person being upset with ONE PERSON, and venting out THEIR HATE to SO MANY, they DON'T EVEN KNOW???

Forrest Gump said it BEST. Stupid IS, as STUPID DOES!!!

But LET ME KNOW IF YA'ALL WANT TO HATE ALL THE LAWYERS.
I CAN VENT TO..........Have a GREAT DAY!!

My my okay we know she was very upset and truthfully the way the person on the other line did not handle things professionally. So sure we can all understand how she felt. Yes not all Police Officers handle things this way. One we really don't know if it was an Officer or a Civilian handling the call.

Myself I have the highest respect for Police Men & Women as well as Firemen.

Don't you all think that this one has been hammered into the ground just a bit much?

Regardless in what Profession there will be good ones and bad ones.

We all get upset at times and need to vent.

But.... sometimes we have to overlook the way things get worded. Yes I will admit it could have been worded totally different and we would have all taken it different. But.. it was not and we took it the way we wanted to. Now sit back take a deep breath we have all said our opinion no reason in bashing our opinions into the ground.

Let this one cool off a bit I assure you she did not mean it the way most of us might have taken it. bigsmile

drinker Smile all and take a deep breath and enjoy the day!!
