Yes, it is a shame that the car was stolen, and she wasn't mad at the cops because of that.

She was mad at the cops because the way the dispatcher treated her friends. 2 of them had cars broken into, and until we arrived, they were the only 2 that had called. So everybody saying "well 15 people called blah blah" make sure you open your eyes and read.

The reason she called the third time is because there was nothing being done, and when the dispatcher told her to put the victim on the phone, she went to hand it to him and the dispatcher hung up.

That's why she's angry with the police.

It was the way they handled the situation.

I understand that but the anger is still misplaced.

COPS. they used to be PEACE officers.... now they are LAW ENFORCEMENT officers. They arnt there to help anymore as much as to look for dirt. In thier defense, i can say that they do deal with scum all day, and sooner or later they can start to think that we are all "up to something".
In my opinion, based on personal observation, the people who like cops and think of them as honerable are usually the same ones who have never dealt with them.

So she's misplacing her anger to be mad at somebody for not handling the situation correctly?

When bad things happen, emotions run high.
There is to much "HATE" in the world.
I really don't think "hate" is the best word for this situation.
Upset with how things went, YES.
I would bet, mistakes in actions are on both sides.

The anger came because the car was stolen, the dispaccher disconnected for whatever reason, I won't begin to state why this may or may not have been.

Elsa, I agree with you. They have the same responsibility as anyone to treat the public, their clients, with respect.

In my life I have seen police purger themselves on the stand, a detective who was the father of a friend of mine selling stereos from the stolen property room, a woman beaten by police for walking her dog on a pier and not moving as fast as they thought she should, police hassling my best friend who is black in front of my house simply because he was black in a white neighborhood, other things not to remain in cyberspace forever, a law enforcement friend say he drives as fast as he feels like since "cops don't give cops tickets" and another good friend who is a system analyst who quit being a police man because he "was becoming like the scum I was arresting". The sense I have gotten is that in general they consider themselves a class apart from society and not a part of it.

Again I will state, if you dislike cops so much, and Goddess forbid something violent happens to you... Call your mom, or your friend or some random person...DON'T CALL THE COPS.

Quoted for truth.

Next time you're getting mugged, or you hear someone moving around in your house, do yourself a favor. Don't call the cops, call the ACLU.

She was more worried about her friends well being than anything else.

She wasn't angry until after she talked to the dispatcher. You do the math.

Edit:

"Again I will state, if you dislike cops so much, and Goddess forbid something violent happens to you... Call your mom, or your friend or some random person...DON'T CALL THE COPS."

She wouldn't have any issue with cops if they did the job correctly in the first place.

You guys are pretending she has some predisposition to disliking the Providence Police Force, and this simply isn't true.

Also, if this is how they always do their job here in Providence, then we might just be better off NOT calling them next time some **** goes down.

And a 20 year old girl has the life experience to deem that they were doing their job "wrong"?

Judgement of a service person is a way things are changed regardless of life experience. The actions or lack of, are accountable by the people hired to up hold the law they have guidelines for said situation.remember when calling to take a deep breath have the situation written down so your prepared when trying to convey the situation these things may help you and the officers process and take action. r next

They were rude, unhelpful, and treated a victim like a criminal. If that's standard procedure than the system needs to be revamped.

Also, I'm her boyfriend, a 19 year old boy. Glad to see you read what's written.

Salemite: Sarcasm and smart ass remarks only make you look immature. I may only be 19 and she may only be 20, but everything I've written in this topic shows I debate a lot more intelligently than you.

Edit: Also, I see no rule or law that says you have to be above a certain age to have a valid complaint about something.

Another fact you're failing to see is life experience isn't based on age. It's based on experiences.
