You are truly blessed to be able to write and paint both extremely well. The picture reminds me of people that were important in someone's life but now gone. But only gone in the physical sense as shown by the yellow light coming from the moons...never truly alone. flowerforyou flowerforyou

Awesome way to describe it, thank you. I like your description. Happy Holidays, I sent you a short messege saying hello and wishing you happy holidays. Just being nice, cause I am nice, really, I am, ok ok, not all the time, but sometimes, LOL hahahaha, I'm soo tired, going to bed now, giggles

Also, pictures are great for inspiration for writing a poem. Or you can join a group on the net that can help you learn to write poetry. Or go to Poetry.org to look up lots of classics and new stuffbigsmile

My question for the day.

What methods would you suggest if one wanted to try to write poetry?

Read it. Get a book on forms. Take a class on the net somewhere, or join a poetry club or group. And last but not least, write.

As for getting ideas, well, if you are a writer, you may all ready have ideas on where to get some inspiration. Reading poetry is a good tool, if a certain phrase or group of words sticks to your mind, you may have the beginnings of a poem at work all ready. When it hits, have something to write on and a good pen or whatever you use. Explore everything, take a walk, notice colors, or shapes or perhaps how a bird reacts as you walk closer to it slowly, or perhaps make a journal full of words and phrases you would like to write a poem or peice about someday.

You could do what I did for fun, get a thesaurus and choose random words from it. Write them down on a notebook, make a big list. Then cut the words out of the page, one by one keeping the words whole. Than you put them in a bowl or whatever you want, and mix them up, than pic five words, or four words or more words, or if you want you can use them all. And write a poem or short story with it. Plus it is fun looking up the words in your thesaurus and dictionary to see what they mean. It is always good to write a words dictionary meaning beside it so you can get a better idea on how to use it.

Hope that helped, I have a ton of ways to get inspirations and ideas, I used to teach a poetry class. smilesflowerforyou

flowerforyou drinker  waving Merry Christmas, bless you all,
hugs and snugs and cocoa dreams,

Love is the walk of life we need

I will not dwell in my darkness today
Today I will walk into the light
As if the light were meant for me

Today I will not run from a smile
Nor shall I walk away from a hug

Today I will not allow fear to command me
Or to shame me

Today I will not allow my joy to be stolen
Or my love of God to go unnoticed

Today I will not allow my emotions to crowd me
I will walk in the sun
I will walk with Him
I will walk with those who walk with love.
Yes, we will walk,
At a kind and wholesome pace,
Rejoicing,
We are loved.
As are you.

This is from the Creative Challenge Group on Multiply, also a part of the pathos collection which I hope to publish someday soon.

Shallow Wall

I’m going to jump start my soul today
With brazen words and disfunctionality
I won’t resist the bold brilliance of my exhaustive mind
Instead I will mutiny and dangle the fattest thoughts there in
Maybe confuse a muse
Mystify a secret sensation,
Something like dueling two nations
One on the right
One on the left
A road that goes to no where
In between the fractured shadow
My instincts are feeling touchy today
Don’t want to go down…that way,
It is not necessary after all,
Got a foreign dialect akin to me
Angry and indecent and injured
Too much to swallow,
Hallow me a wave,
I want to wall in my raven dreams
I’m the enigma
That isn’t what it seems
I’ll dally for a while
But you had better dilly out the way
‘cause today seems like a vital effort
To have a dual personality.

This is from a challenge on Creative Realms, a multiply group, I thought I would share it with you. Goodnight by the way.
Write when you write.

Mercury Rising

I.

My soul clenched
Remembering your scent
Like cherry dreams
And something spent
We no longer hold on to what you lost
My sacred angel
You’re the angle stabbing at my pain
You seem to fit quite nicely
Where wars are too much
And we complain
Insanity is profanity
Anywhere you breed it
Something stirs the conscience
Without the way to word it
Walking in the shoes
Inside out
Might seem the way to go
But if you have never been there
How the hell could you ever know it?

II.

The mercury that rose
Will never fall the same way twice,
What was done and undone
Will simply not suffice,
We climb on the back of mountains
Searching for the dream
And only sleep can bring me
Closer to what it seems.

This poem reminds me of this latin quote by Pliny the Elder-
Ruinis inminentibus musculi peaemigant- meaning- when collapse is imminent, the little rodents flee like rats deserting a sinking ship.

May your day be blessed. smiles flowerforyou
