And I'm sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine how hard that is to deal with. However, I personally think when dealing with dating, less is more at first. I appreciate you wanting to be honest up front, so few people are, but I also think that subject is something that doesn't need to be thrown out immediately. I don't remember who else said it, but I think the phrase "recently single" is just about right. If they press the issue, then obviously explain. But most women won't on the first few dates. I think that subject, that particular heartache, is something that doesn't need to be shared with just anyone. Save it for the ones that truly seem interested in your heart. Ya know?

I've said the following words (or similar) to about three different friends today. So I'm just gonna post it here. Because I don't want to have to say it anymore.

An ex is an ex for a reason. Nobody changes enough to make that second or third or fourth chance end up any different than the first try did. That friction, no matter how well hidden is still gonna be there. Whatever missing piece between you two that was missing the first time around is still gonna be missing if you try again. And when your heart breaks the second or third time, it's gonna hurt even worse. Quit worrying about the one who didn't care enough to be part of your future and enjoy yourself till you find the one who wants nothing more than to be your past, present AND future. It'll all be ok. It won't always hurt this much.
