Outlived my pecker
|
|
Willie Nelson, iconic country and western singer, on his 75th birthday wrote this poem. Words of wisdom from that famous philosopher, a deep thinker, and a highly intelligent person. Only a man with such wisdom and maturity could be so concise and succinct in phrasing his feeling at this turning point in his life. So simple, yet so profound! He simple put it, "I have outlived my pecker."
The Penis Poem My nookie days are over, My pilot light is out. What used to be my sex appeal, Is now my water spout. Time was when, on its own accord, From my trousers it would spring. But now I've got a full time job, To find the little' thing. It used to be embarrassing, The way it would behave. For every single morning, It would stand and watch me shave. Now as old age approaches, It sure gives me the blues. To see it hang it's little head, And watch me tie my shoes!! |

Don't mess with old women

Don't mess with old women :)
I was out riding my old mule the other day when I stopped in front of a saloon. I walked up and tied my old mule to the hitching rail, as I stood there brushing some of the dust from my face and clothes, a young man stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other. The young man looked at me laughing and he said, "Hey, Old Woman, have you ever danced?" I looked at the young man and said, "No, I never did dance...never really wanted to." A crowd gathered as the young man grinned and said, "Well, old woman, you're gonna dance now," and started shooting at my feet. Not wanting to get my toes blown off I started hopping around; everybody started laughing. When his last bullet had been fired, the young man, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. That is when I turned, went to my pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun and cocked both hammers. The loud click carried clearly through the air and the crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young man heard the sound too, and he turned around very slowly, the silence was almost deafening. The crowd watched as the young man stared at me and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels. The barrel of the shotgun never wavered in my hands, as I quietly said, "Son, have you ever kissed a mule's butt?" The young man swallowed hard and said, "No mamm...but...I've always wanted to." The moral of this story, never be arrogant, don't waste ammunition, whiskey makes you think you're smarter that you are, always, always make sure you know who has the power, and don't mess with old women; they didn't get old by being stupid. I just love a happy ending, don't you? |

What I have learned...

I've learned the world is changing and so am I,
I'm a country gal from Small Town USA, and meeting folks online is now the thing to do, no doubt about it online dating is what people are doing, I will find people of like mind, artists, writers and poets who share my interest. Cyber friends from around the world just sitting here in front of my computer screen, who would have ever figured? At first I just read the profiles and visited the forums. Now I check in to say "hi" and occasionally add my two cents. No ulterior motives, but if by some chance I happen to cultivate a friendship with a guy that grows beyond that, I'm ready. If no relationship develops I'll be okay, I'll continue to enjoy life sharing happy moments with my family and friends. I'm here to make friends and enjoy a few laughs, it can all be quite rewarding. I'm mainly here for the forums, the topics, the views and opinions of people from around the world. |

Sunday morning blast as I stretch my arms to wake up my sleeping muscles. I got up and fixed my hair. After I put the dogs out I started the coffee to brewing, set my cup out and turned on the computer to check the weather report and current events. It is going to be another great day, no rain, not too hot, not too cold. I think I will take a walk. I grabbed my sweater and then searched for my sneakers as they had migrated from the front door, no doubt in the mouth of one of the dogs. I creakily crouched down to peek under the bed when I heard footsteps on the back porch.
Footsteps on the back porch, I wonder who that could be this early, the dogs aren't barking so it must be someone I know. I get up from my crouched down position with my shoe in hand and go to see who is on my back porch. |

What I have learned...
|

I learned that,
The day comes when it is time to be strong, to let go of the pain, it hurts too much, time to dream new dreams, dreams of happier times. It is time to find the strength to go on, to make happier memories, to be rich in the good memories, sweeter memories and rejoice in the momories that we shared. Greiving is natural but there comes the time to let go, to find joy and happiest once more. You have to let go of the old and to make room for the new. |
