Topic: What I have learned... | |
---|---|
A writer needs a reader, and I want to write. So tell me what your thoughts are.
Let me start off with what I know and have learned, I was told to write about the things I know and just start putting it down on paper. So now, fellow writers and poets allow me to share some of my thoughts. I've tried my hand at writing poetry but I'm just not very good at it. |

A country wife,
From early childhood, into adolescences and adulthood I was taught to be a country wife. What I learned was that a country wife has got to be her man's partner. She knows how to keep the house clean and tend to the children, the garden, the cooking, and manage the finances, And at the end of the day she makes her husband feel loved. Now none of this requires makeup or a weekly visit to the beauty parlor to have the hair and nails done. And, most country wives are happy like that. |

GRANDMAS ARE SMART
At least I have my grandson convinced that there is some truth to that. When my grandson and I was out walking the other day he picked something up off the ground and started to put it in his mouth. I took the item away from him and asked him not to do that. He asked me, "Why?" I replied, by telling him, "Because it's been on the ground, it's dirty, and probably has germs, and germs sometimes make little boys sick. My grandson looked at me, at this point, with total admiration and asked, "Grandma, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart." I said to him, with a grin on my face, "All Grandmas know this stuff. It's on the Grandma Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Grandma." He evidently was pondering this new information as we walked along in silence for a time. After a couple of minutes his reply was, "Oh...I get it! He beamed, So if you don't pass the test you have to be the GRANDPA." "Exactly," I replied with a big smile on my face, thinking not only are Grandmas smart but that is one smart grandson. |

I've learned,
if you can't say something good, it is better to say nothing at all. people only hear what they want to hear. be peaceable with all men, do onto others as you want them to do onto you. saying, "I'm sorry" when sincere can prevent most conflicts. |

I wrote a book to help grandma/grandpa answer the questions children
ask. Here are a couple to help you out. Q Why is the sky blue? A No you can't have an ice-cream. Q where was I before I was born? A You should have gone while you were there. Hope this helps out, and here's a little poem to help you with your writing A Bad Liar? I'm the worst kind of liar you could imagine. I mean half the lies I tell aren't true. To give you an example my grandson asked me, "Grandad why is the sky blue?" I said in reply, " No you can't have an ice cream." He seemed happy with that, so I changed my mind and bought an ice cream. It was really tasty. R |

I have learned, that time stands still for no one. Yesterdays, are history. History has been written, to become part of tomorrow. Some things just happen, some things we chose. There is a time to stay, then there is a time to walk away.

I have learned, that living alone, at first it was not easy in the beginning but now I rather enjoy being alone. I would rather be alone than in the company of someone who I have little in common with and just tolerate. The older I get the longer the list of turn offs and shorter the list of things that are a turn on, the results being, I'd rather be alone, with my own company than the company of anyone one who is a turn off. I will remain single until someone comes along who can change my mind. I will live, learn, and laugh because I can, I am who I am. Life is a learning process which will not end until I breathe my last breath.
Living alone is not so bad, it's not a bad thing, I can come and go as I please. I can mingle with whoever I please, whenever I please. |

Yes I know all of that, and may I say all you have said is pretty obvious to most of us on here. Notwithstanding that. I wish you
"Bon voyage" on your single handed travels R |

Loving You, I never knew that loving someone would make me feel so many different feelings all at once. The passion between us was amazing, it was as though lightening surged through my body, so powerful, strong, and exciting. When I looked into your eyes my heart beat so hard and fast, it felt like my heart would burst out of my chest.
Is it possible, I might have been dreaming, it was so unreal. I think something that wonderful just couldn't be real. Loving you has been the best thing that ever happened to me. And if I never love again, I'll know that I truly loved and how wonderful it made me feel. I know what it feels like to love. I know that I truly loved you... I've learned that love is something everyone should feel. When you fall in love you will know it, there are no words to express how you feel, you just know that you never want to let go of it. So if you ever find that special love, make sure that you hold on to it, because it will be the best thing you'll ever have. And, if you're lucky it will last forever! |

There came the day when I had to say, "Good Bye" saying good bye is one of the hardest thing I ever had to do. Saying, good bye is a hard thing to do, it will let you know how much you really care about life and everything you love. I remember when you said, it's time for me to say, "Good Bye" don't cry over me because I've cried enough for both of us because it is time to say, "GOOD BYE."

I learned that,
The day comes when it is time to be strong, to let go of the pain, it hurts too much, time to dream new dreams, dreams of happier times. It is time to find the strength to go on, to make happier memories, to be rich in the good memories, sweeter memories and rejoice in the momories that we shared. Greiving is natural but there comes the time to let go, to find joy and happiest once more. You have to let go of the old and to make room for the new. |

I've learned the world is changing and so am I,
I'm a country gal from Small Town USA, and meeting folks online is now the thing to do, no doubt about it online dating is what people are doing, I will find people of like mind, artists, writers and poets who share my interest. Cyber friends from around the world just sitting here in front of my computer screen, who would have ever figured? At first I just read the profiles and visited the forums. Now I check in to say "hi" and occasionally add my two cents. No ulterior motives, but if by some chance I happen to cultivate a friendship with a guy that grows beyond that, I'm ready. If no relationship develops I'll be okay, I'll continue to enjoy life sharing happy moments with my family and friends. I'm here to make friends and enjoy a few laughs, it can all be quite rewarding. I'm mainly here for the forums, the topics, the views and opinions of people from around the world. |

mo,
Bravo. Well done! tommy boy PS: mo, try to start a new 'string' each time you wish to add to this poetry forum. A new thread ( topic ) will net us all an easier reading situation. I love what ye write, especially the addition including your walk with your grandson. That was so cute. I loved it, mo. Thank ye, tomo / Ireland |
